- Jesko himself talking about how Koenigsegg was started by his son Christian, and how he helped him to get the company off the ground.
Koenigsegg´s new megacar is named after Christians father Jesko. This interview was recorded before Jesko knew that Koenigsegg would name the new model after him. Jesko just turned 80 years old at the end of 2018.

It's an acceleration record car not a top speed record, the Bugatti Chiron about six months ago passed the 300mph barrier and achieved just about 304mph

Not only exclusive, but really cool. Looking at Koenigsegg - the Ferrari, rolls Royce , Maybach, Bugatti looks like a toys for rich guys. Koenigsegg will be more legendary than Ferrari. Hennessy, Bugatti always beaten by Koenigsegg. There’s only the concurrent - DeVille Sixteen.

Fantastic story, thanks for sharing! I love that Koenigsegg is at the top of a game traditionally dominated by much larger, more established players. I also think it's great that Christian is so open with the media, youtubers especially. When I hear him talk about his cars, he goes into great detail, answering questions specifically and honestly. Instead of coming off as a salesman, he really gets across his passion for the cars and the narrative behind them.
I saw that Norwegian movie also, and assembled a model miniature of the car. 🙂

How many heads of business willingly, candidly, and PROUDLY speak about their family giving them the support, help, and opportunities to succeed? CvK is probably the only automotive CEO alive today who not only talks about those things, but actively pays homage to those who have helped him over the years and credits the engineers he employs with bringing all his crazy ideas to life. And wouldn't you know it - his legend has not been diminished one bit by his discussion of the help he got from his father or the role his wife has played as COO or the crazy ideas that the senior engineers have come up with over the years. In fact, I'd go so far as to argue that the Koenigsegg family brand - and CvK's status as a mad genius - has only gotten even MORE legendary BECAUSE CvK continually highlights the pivotal roles that everybody around him has played for the past quarter century. He never says "I" unless it was his personal idea that HE manifested himself. It's always "we". And it's a really beautiful thing to see.

It’s so amazing, it all started with them just watching a movie and now they are pretty much the most innovative car company in the world, they do almost everything in house and build the fastest car in the world, even though they are such a small company. Nothing but respect for Jesko, Christian and their team!

Some help for subtitles and people who aren't familiar with English to translate it and also, congrats Koenigsegg, it's not just a car, it's a family.
Transcript:
The beginning of us was when Christina was 6 or 7 years old when we saw this Norwegian movie and Christian said to me when we left the cinema “father when I grew up that’s the kind of car I want to build” and I said “well, well, well, we will see about that” and that’s how really how it all started.
After his exam he said to me “father, I think it’s time now for me really, I would really like to build this car, I know exactly what it will look like and how it shall be developed” and I said “Christina I don’t think this is really a good idea” and then he said “father, however I’ve done a business plan and I put it on your desk, couldn’t you at least have a close look at it” and then part of a sudden I read this business plan and it did really contain anything you can desire from a business plan from A B set, so I thought, well now it’s more difficult to get rid of this idea so I said “maybe we should try to find kind of, to present this business idea to, at that time it was a new tech or Swedish organization for start-up companies and I thought, well they will probably throw us out of the window so then we can forget about this, but it took some 6 weeks before we could do this interview at new tech and Christian is a very very good persuader so after a few weeks he had kind of persuaded me that we will do this together, and we went to new tech and instead of getting thrown out of the window, which I more or less had hope, they say “whoa this was the nicest thing we have heard for a very long time, where do you want to start”.
Christian said “well preferably as close to our future markets as possible” and then we landed at a town in the southeast of Sweden and at that time I had her very recently sold company so I was kind of free to do other things, I said to Christian “well maybe I can come with you the first 3~4 weeks to help you get going”, as a matter of fact these 3~4 weeks they extended to, I don’t know, it was 5~6 years about 18h a day and Christian was building the car, building the prototype and in 1996 in July Christian presented the first prototype and from that moment on it has been a kind of journey that has ended up where we are today.
GOOD BUSINESS PLAN....this is one of the reason of success.....there are many others...but this is the core.....great Christian i remember when some years ago a man of yours let me enter in the ccx.....continue like this....for me no one else! NO ONE!

The Jesko is a really beautiful masterpiece, I can't wait for it to break all records there are. Could you make a video about how the electrical hybrid functions work? I also thought about making a storage tank for boost pressure instead of the wastegate, but coming up with a 20 bar compressor fed tank is of course much more elegant solution. Are there freevalves involved in the Jesko? I guess not, otherwise you wouldn't heat the cats electrically ;)
