    🚄 INFORMATION KEY
    Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more
    ➤ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOPS#TO...
    Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more
    ➤ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Train_r...
    Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

    Outstanding footage and a lot of variety you spotted as well. Some nostalgia, modern and the newest all still going strong. Some interesting news about the West Coast Mainline, InterCity Trains are looking to work alongside Avanti West Coast to run additional services in and out of London Euston prior for the Queens funeral.

      I know that because I worked there.
      When we had a batch ready for dispatch,we would notify British Railways, and a quality control would visit us.
      We would have the consignment of boxes on a bench. The BR inspector would then choose at random one of the items to inspect. Than when he was satisfied. He would sign off acceptance for the consignment.
      The. Items were mostly the buttons and switches on the driver’s. Cab control desk

    Very nice video!! Specially the first train, seems very important.
    I'm curious of something: If we suppose that the all the UK lines were electrified, will class 42 and HST dissapear? Because it won't make sense to still have them, as they are diesel trains; but in the other hand, it will get a lot of people mad because of the value of it. What do you think?

    • @StarlifeStudios
      @StarlifeStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Joel, I'm really glad you've given my video a slice of your attention this week.
      There is a lot of passion and emotion with the High Speed Trains and as the first 125MPH capable trains (even electric weren't this fast), I agree with you however, about enthusiasts being upset.
      If all railways were electrified, I would imagine a similar system to mainland europe would apply where diesel/battery locos are used in depots for freight and all movements on mainlines are electric.
      Thanks for watching 😃

      On Monday 23rd August 1982 I was on Rugby Midland Station betrween 9-40 am and 11-30am and during that time I saw 22 electric locos either hauling trains or standing idle. The only diesels seen were 46017 which brought 3 concrete wagons from the south and shunter 08667. I cannot for the life of me understand why NOW so much of the freight traffic has reverted to diesel haulage.

    • @reggiesmith3866
      @reggiesmith3866 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sophiebryson510 I honestly cant remember saying anything like that. What I do criticise is the use of diesels including 66s on fully electrified lines to pull freight that until a few years ago was hauled by electric locos.
