Good one Davy, I'm sure this would transport me to my youth, loved the TV show and all things SI-FI so Gerry Anderson featured highly. You do a great job as usual, thank you.

Thanks Sam - I'm going to resub to you now! And I've told you...the beanie collection would be an hour vid on it's own.

@DavysFlicks definitely a clearer sharper picture. Watched it 5 times and forced a friend to watch and he loved it. Considering what the existing print was, the AI aid in assembling this did it justice. The colour is exquisite and the bonus features are FAB indeed! Lol. Definitely worth every pound!

The film that "mirrors" this in so many ways is "Doppelganger" or "Journey To The Far Side Of The Sun" that was released in 1969 and written by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.
"Into Infinity" had a lot of the Space 1999 cast and "Doppelganger" had a lot of the UFO cast including Ed Bishop, George Sewell and Vladek Sheybal (as the usual "psychiatrist" role).
Both enjoyable films that I need to dig out again, not having watched them in some years now.

Yes, I had the Journey bluray pulled too...but I wanted to try and keep this under 10mins...failed by a few secs!
Gerry's live-action era is vastly overshadowed by the Supermarionations but we love them all!

@@DavysFlicks I grew up in the era of Thunderbirds, Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet and they were absolutely my favourite shows as a kid. I have them all in box sets on physical disks, I still love them to bits.
I also went mad over UFO and Space 1999 - I will always remember that Space 1999 was shown on ITV but when Season 2 came out, it wasn't shown on ITV Southern (as it was called then) but was shown on ITV London which meant that a mate of mine a mile up the road could watch it while I couldn't - so I used to go over to his house on Saturdays just to watch it.
These days I do prefer the live action stuff. We all know about Fred "Serial Killer" Frieberger, of course, and Space 1999 Season 2 is nice for explosions and effects (but not a lot else) but the writing in UFO was *STUNNINGLY GOOD* just to see today how many adult themes were woven into the stories - like how losing a child broke up Ed Straker's marriage.
So I think UFO is my absolute favourite with Space 1999 Season One a close second - then the Supermarionations not far behind.

I'd go along with that - including considering S1999's seasons almost two different shows.
I was lucky enough to come up in the Anderson revival of the early 90s - Blue Peter paper mache Tracey Island et al - and my fave was always Captain Scarlet. As an adult...UFO and 1999 Season 1...the way to go. Though the Stingray vid I have on here took me back..
      Cheers!

@@DavysFlicks Actually, I'd forgotten about Stingray - although I don't go back quite as far as Fireball XL5.

I have the vid on Stingray which goes into it but yeah - I have Fireball, Four Feather Falls, Torchy The Battery Boy, Supercar, Joe 90, Secret Service.....glad too since they were Network releases so some are super rare now.

Speaking of "Space 1999," have you seen "Spazio 1999" the Italian film cobbled from episodes of the series? I discovered this by seeing the Morricone score was released last year from Beat Records. Curious how good/bad the final product was after listening to crazy Jazz (I presume) title piece.

      Delicious - a lovely mid-meal sorbet rather than a main course...but lovely.
