      @@vision6D You're very welcome. As a matter of fact I am doing self organization with MS Project with the purpose of entrepreneurship with a vision to the Circular Economy in which I can apply my knowledge and background in the are of Industrial Engineering, Energy Sustainability and programming for IoT. The projects have a spectrum of activities from bio-technology to the software development. I am looking in your training series, in addition to your golden tips, to find out how to adjust different availability percentage for a unique task. For example I adjust my 20 percent of availability from Monday to Wednesday and then I will be available for that task with my 100 percent availability to finish it sooner. I tried to split the task but I think it was not the correct approach. Thank you for your attention

    Hello
    I am a German engineer and need a dashboard for my project by contrasting the design progress, the progress of manufacturing to the total expected expenses.
    Furthermore I need an overview in the dashboard regarding the ordered materials, in relation to the total required material segments. Does a video exist for such a dashboard creation?
    By the way, as a German speaking follower I can follow your language very well, because you explain clear, in short sentences. Thank you very much for that.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello,
      This question is a bit out of the channel topic. But in the projects I had to do we were doing suppliers payments. Mostly it depends on your company bank accounts, which standard they support and then what software implemented them. In which country are you?

    I have a question regarding the colonne "accrue at". How would you put it if the carpenter ask for a deposit before starting there work, and the balance at the end? Or I know that some times certain kind of work are paid by the progression of the work (let's say a déposit of 25% at the start, an other 25% when 50% of the work is done and the balance at the end)? It is just the third video that I see, so you may have answer it in an another video... But tumbs up for your work! It's realy amazing. Very easy to understand with the visual (pointer, red box, etc.). Looking forward for more video.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for that question and for your comment. To be fair, I had a similar situation. To solve it I created tasks that were payment tasks. For example, we had to redo a facade with the carpenters and it was going to last 3 weeks and the cost was 12'000 in 3 payments. I created a summary task and 4 sub-tasks
      Task build facade
      payment1 25 % 0d duration cost: 3'000
      task do the work 3 weeks no cost
      payment2 25% 0d cost: 3'000
      payment3 50% 0d cost: 6'000
      It turned out to be very interesting, since it gave me a financial planning. I used the timeline to show when I had to pay what.
      What do you think about this solution?

    Hello Christian,
    Can you Pl help to understand about cost/ Unit in Resource sheet, what additional charges by Tiled setter apart from 30/ sqft.
    Second Question, what is column Initial is about?

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question. Cost /unit is to understand when you have a cost depending on quantity.
      Initials are simply the initial of a name like for Christian it is Ch.
      For the one on quantity what are the examples you see?

    Thanks again! but I need a suggestion on how I can add cost to resources from the time workers/teams come to the project until they finally leave, since MS project will calculate their cost when teams are working only.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For your situation I would drop the type of resource work. Their costs do not depend on work quantity. So, you are left with resources of type cost or material. Which you can absolutely use for human resources. How can you use that type of resource?

    • @ammarmismar5920
      @ammarmismar5920 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vision6D To make it more clear, the project is sewage pipe to be implemented in 6 parallel streets. Each street has the same tasks (pavement removal, pile shoring, earth work...etc) How can I add cost from the time workers/teams of each task come to the project until they finally leave? MS project calculates their cost when teams are working only.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do we agree that Ms Project knows 3 types of costs?
      For each task define if the work is paid by unit, cubic meter, meters etc. => type material
      Is the cost a fixed amount. => type cost
      Identify for your different tasks the type of cost
      Establish a typical list of tasks in a mpp file with the identified cost types. This will give us a base to work. Let me know when you are ready.

      Thank you for your question. Tell me if my understanding of your question is right. You have a certain schedule, with a baseline1 defined. One more question, in case of vicinity (safety distance) was given in meters how do we convert it to time (days)? I have information about length, width and depth.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This needs a bit more clarification, before I can give you an answer.

    • @ammarmismar5920
      @ammarmismar5920 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vision6D Sure. an example is sheet pile shoring precedes earthwork due to bad soil conditions. One team is available for this with maximum 2m/hour production rate (including both sides of the trench). No work can be executed within 40m vicinity of sheet piling. Cost of the sheet piling team is 300POG/day. Capacity of sheet piles is enough for shoring of 300m of trench.
      How can I calculate the duration of sheet pile shoring? :)

    Thanks for your video. May I ask you one question? Can we make separate cash flow for each cost type? For example, cash flow for carpenter, plumper,...?

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, absolutely. To make sure you are talking about payments or really cash flow?

  • @ammarmismar5920
    @ammarmismar5920 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the video! How can I add a cost for multiple streets (when they are closed) during construction in case a contractor pays to the municipality for the time a street is closed?

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for that question. There is no single answer to your question. You can for example simply add a payment task with the amount. You can also add a payment task for each street separately. Which one are you going for?

    • @ammarmismar5920
      @ammarmismar5920 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vision6D would adding a summary to the project helps?

    • @ammarmismar5920
      @ammarmismar5920 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vision6D where can I find payment please?

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You add a task and you name it payment1 for closing streets. There is no special payment function in MS Project. Then you create a resource of type cost that you name PMT1(payment1). Then you define the value of that resource as the supplier cost for closing the streets. Assign the resource PMT1 to the task "payment1 for closing streets".
      Now you should understand the principle.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To add a summary always helps. It clarifies and organizes your tasks.

    • @kc_mahalima7932
      @kc_mahalima7932 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      like in video #2, you have used cu.m as a unit for concrete,but what if i will be including other materials like steel/rebar (in market price steel can be bought in kilograms or in pieces).
      Thank you in advance if you can answer my queries.

    • @vision6D
      @vision6D  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your interesting question.What we enter is a price per unit, without saying what the unit is.
      The price per unit depends on what you want to use for your project. Each resource can be in different units what matters is the cost per unit and the number of units. How does this clarify your situation?
      May be in the meantime you can check if you subscribed to the channel?
