In older versions of Ms Project you had specific fields for PERT calculations. Today this has evolved to the Network Diagram. Following the link you will see how I use it to create a new project.

Hi Christian, can you Pl explain with examples why Milestone needed to be set what it pretents exactly to PM.
Thank you for that interesting question. Milestones represent in a a project and not only for the PM but also for the team and the stakeholder, important dates or achievements or deliverables. For example, You do a feasibility study and you release the document or the presentation on a certain date. This would surely be a milestone in the project. Your project is the installation of a new software for more than 50 people at your company. An important event is the day your company starts to officially use that software in production. So you can mark it as a milestone.
You project is a house construction, we could mark as milestones the first day of work on the construction place and the day when the project is delivered to the owners.
In this video you have an other example as how I used milestones with the covid-19 pandemic.
