F:NV made shotguns so fun, I really hope that future Fallout entries will look back and take a leaf out this book. Fallout 4 weapon design was mostly atrocious.
Fun Fact: In Fallout 4, all of the shotguns are 10 gauge. We know this because of the fact that they all use the same ammo, and Becky Fallon of Fallon's Basement in Diamond City tells you, when you choose to say "Do you have a lot of problem with thieves?", "Nothing my 10 gauge hasn't been able to handle". You can look in her inventory and she has a standard double-barrel shotgun.
3:03 Given the sights, external magazine, and overall form factor, the Riot Shotgun seems to be based mostly off of the Hawk Type 97, specifically the Hawk Semi-Auto which is used for anti-riot purposes. Quite an interesting choice for the arguably strongest gun in the game to be modeled after a Chinese weapon.
I'm tore between the Lever Action and Hunting Shotguns. They're both so cool looking. I'm still sad there's no unique version/mods for the Lever Action.
Though not the most powerful I've always been partial to the single shot. It's the kind of simple action that would survive long, hard use and also would probably be the first thing a society could start making once they got factories back up and running. In the base game, if you convert the shot cartridges to slugs, this is probably the earliest weapon you could reliably kill giant rad scorpions with. With the Courier's Stash and Gun Runner's Arsenal from the Game of the Year edition though there are other better weapons you can get your hands on and. sadly, I don't use it as much as I used to.
Being a alternate playstyle player i usually leave guns skills way behind on priorities which makes shotguns really unviable early game even the sturdy caravan has issues with geckos compared to melee and explosives
3:12 i think the Riot shotgun is supposed to be the Striker-12. I dont even think itd work well because without a stock you need the foregrip or else itll blow your arm out lmao
a under and over barrel is way more complicated that your regular side by side. there is a reason the doubled barreled stood the test of time it's simple.
I love the shotguns. The riot shot gun feels like cheating. Sometimes, when I have it, I try not to use it, but then my health starts heading for the basement and out comes the riot shotgun.
>1887 >Reliable Lol no. I've had one, it's not all that great. Just like the Desert Eagle, it's all pop culture, no function. That said, other than magazine issues, the Desert Eagle it's probably more reliable. The 1887 is plagued with feeding, extraction and ejection issues.
They're fairly common though I think the only company making them now is savage. I personally have a jc higgins which was made for the sears catalog. My favorite shotgun I own tbh funky but reliable

Shotguns only need two feats so I’ve managed to incorporate them easily into Pacencia/Cowboy/and even explosions build.

I worked so hard for the dinner bell that I just have to use it. All those eggs!
On the caravan shotgun it's not a screw for the rear sight it's the lever you use to open it in real life
