I always felt like Aron never got the credit he deserved for delivering some of the best monologues on DS9. Two that come to mind: when he is explaining passionately to Sisko why he wants to enter Starfleet, and later when he's hiding out in Vic's program and finally admits to why he's afraid to go back to the real world. Both are epic speeches on par with anyone else's on the show.
I could tell they were really trying to push the 'disillusioned war-damaged veteran' angle with Nog's leg (and trauma) -- I think the story was spot-on, though somehow the disparity with Eisenberg's stature + squeaky voice didn't gel in my memory. Maybe they could have given him a couple of combat or command sequences so as to firm up the 'Nog's more than an annoying teenager' concept. They come closest to this in Valiant IMHO. (Nog tells Jake to include both the good + bad parts of Red Squad's actions + motivations, "let the readers choose").
Nog was a very well developed side character and Aron did a great job, I may have even cried from the holosuite episode where Vic helped him out. He really gave a touching performance. Great to hear from the cast and on a side note: Dax is still hot 🔥
John Burke Last year, I actually had a conversation with Aron (at the convention in Birmingham), I said exactly that. I said that his performance in ‘Its Only a Paper Moon’ was masterful and the scene changed my life and thanked him for it. Aron being Aron, he was a delight about it all amd humble and thankful. An incredible moment in my life!

@BILLY THE KID I'm hoping one day that they'll make a series where Sisko comes back in some way.. you see Jake with his family still as a reporter, Julian still on DS9 and Quark with his 5 or 6 moons. You'll understand where I'm coming from if you watched/listened to Alexander Siddigs 4 part episode on his TH-cam channel. I suggest checking it out cause it's absolutely amazing in my opinion

Terry looks a lot better than I was expecting. I saw a photo of her from like 10 years ago and she honestly looked horrible, like a completely different person.
27 years later DS9 *is still the best Star Trek.* Complete characters, brilliant story, amazing actors, still looks fresh and *still is contempory and edgy!* And don't care what people saying *we were damn lucky having Avery Brooks!*

She is right though, I think the vast majority of younger watchers discovered DS9 through Netflix. And in countries other than the US (like here in Germany), CBS doesn't even exist.
I just re-watched the whole series this past month on Netflix here in the US really ahead of it's time. Strong well written characters and I love it just as much and in certain ways better than TNG
I'm watching every episode of DS9 on Netflix now and I'm thinking, "Damn...I missed so much about this show the first time." It truly expanded the Star Trek universe with its character development, story and worldbuilding.
My 14 year old son loves DS9 so much that he’s already watched the entire series twice. He really loves the humour. DS9 is extremely funny & quite often poignant. A truly great series.
Why? Living things die. That's life. And why be so sad about *them* in particular? They're actors that played roles 20 years ago. You didn't know them personally (I'm guessing), and what you DO know of them is from interviews and other film roles, all of which are carefully sculpted to advertise their own careers. To be inspired by someone is great! But why be sad when they die? Their inspiration didn't die with them, you haven't lost a friend or family member (unless you did, in which case, my condolences). What they've done for you through their work is still there. Save that sadness for when it's needed, and choose to be happy that your favorite celebs were here to do what they did in the first place. Eventually the rest of the DS9 cast will die, but the work they did will live on forever. That's what you truly love, because it's the only thing you really know. And that's perfectly fine!
I'm not saying that "actors aren't human" or that they "shouldn't be acknowledged for anything but their work", I'm saying that putting emotional energy into the death someone you had no personal connection to isn't the best thing you can be doing.
@rabbitscooter, I get where you're coming from and it's okay to be sad about the death of people you don't personally know. Compassion means caring about people, including those who are beyond your immediate acquaintance. What a fitting sentiment on Star Trek Day.

There are a lot of people out there who put more stock in a fictional TV show than in those in their own, immediate lives that maybe need more attention than they're getting. The other person in here makes a great point too, a little compassion for people you don't know is a great sentiment for Star Trek Day.
DS9 is still my most favorite Trek. They were ahead of their time : serialized storytelling, morally ambiguous characters, sympathetic villains, season long arcs. As a gay man, DS9 spoke to me growing up because it tackled issues that I was dealing with. It’s a shame they were under appreciated back in the 90s. It’s cool that people are still discovering DS9 to this day.
As a person with good taste in TV shows, DS9 really spoke to me. As a person who was a teenager in the mid 90's, I never had any identity politics issues to deal with but then again, I never even registered the diversity of the cast in either DS9 or Voyager back then because it was never an issue at the time plus it wasn't emphasised and shoved down everybody's throats as is so often the case nowadays. It's kind of like how I have been a Red Dwarf fan since the early 90's, yet I never even noticed that Danny John Jules was black or that Craig Charles was mixed race. Was just never an issue at the time. Nowadays though, things like race, sex, gender (or as it used to be called......... sex), sexuality, identity are used in place of narrative and proper casting to cover up the woeful ineptitude of the people in charge of shows like Discovery and Picard. You are right though. DS9 tackled tough subjects back then in a sensitive, yet appropriate way which seemed effortless, well-written, appropriate to the plot and not contrived like the modern incarnations of STINO.
It always makes me sad that Avery Brooks is almost never involved these things. It is absolutely his right to not be involved but he is hands down my favorite Trek actor and character.
Avery and Colm are two of my favourite actors and they're never involved in these things. I wish they were but I'm grateful we do have as many actors as we have who are involved.

I don't think he's doing too well mentally these days. Seems happy enough, but very drifty and in his own world. He's pretty old now, so its to be expected.
DS9 was WAY ahead of its time. It did more serialized story telling during a time when TV didn’t do that too often. It was the first Trek I watched from beginning to end, and while TNG got me in the door, DS9 made me a fan
When Armin started to speak about his perception of Ferengi culture and morality, he very briefly said ‚humaaaaans‘ like Quark would have pronounced it.. it blew me away... love you guys so much.
She does look great! I love them all. She's guest starred on Siddig's zoom group lately and I love how they talk to each other with such affection. Such a great cast.
I had the pleasure of meeting Aron Eisenberg a few years ago at DragonCon. I was trying to tell him how much I loved his character and the fantastic progression Nog had during the show and of course he praised the show's amazing writers for it. In my head I was thinking, "yea but that was also you, you brought Nog to life" but I was a little tongue tied as happens when you meet actors/celebrities. I always thought to myself if I saw him again I'd explain myself better, but unfortunately I won't get that chance. I hope he knew how much fans loved not only the writing of his character but especially his performance and the life he brought to that writing. Goodbye Aron Eisenberg and Rene Auberjonois. We'll remember you and your amazing work forever.

Not sure if you're fully deaf, but from the perspective that you can't hear the warp engines, phasers, tension music or other sounds besides just the different qualities of speech in alien languages, I'm just curious without this aspect for you, how our experiences might differ and to what degree. Honest question...hope I phrased it alright.
To me, one of the best moments of all the Trek series happened in Deep Space 9 with the exchange between Garak and Quark comparing the Federation and root beer in the episode "The Way of the Warrior". Just brilliant acting and dialogue.
Such an amazing television programme and an amazing cast. Wil did such a great job interviewing everyone, and I just loved everyone's takes and commentary on everything. Thanks for making this available for us to watch internationally. This is my favourite Star Trek show and the brilliant writing and characters were the reason why. Episodes like Far Beyond the Stars, The Visitor, Past Tense, Duet, Trials and Tribble-ations, In the Pale Moonlight - thank you for giving us such amazing content and memories. 🖖

Deep Space Nine will always be my favorite Star Trek. There were two things they did which really set it apart from other Trek shows. One was how they made faith & religion such a significant part of the story, and did so very respectfully. The other was the brilliant idea to keep the main characters anchored to a location. In shows like TNG, you'd meet characters in an episode and never see them again. But with DS9, you had a large group of secondary characters who we got to explore more in-depth than we would on a more traditional Trek show. And by anchoring the main characters to a stationary(no pun intended) home, they couldn't just make a mess and then fly off into the sunset like the Enterprise could. They had to stay and deal with the consequences of their actions. It gave the writers the chance to craft story arcs that lasted multiple seasons, not just multiple episodes.
I watched Little Nemo with my nephew awhile ago, and when Dr. Genius came on I literally blurted out "ODO!" Now my nephew yells Odo when he's happy about something. Thanks Rene!
I didn't expect to be crying by the end of these videos, but this video and the one for Picard really got me in the feels. Also, WOW!! Ms Nana Visitor is still gorgeous as ever.
I watched the Voyager panel prior to this one, Voyager cast was fun and banter, as at times their show was, and interestingly, DS9 cast, intellectual, spiritual and heartfelt! Strange and quite apt how these actors truly represent the shows they once graced! R.I.P Aron & René
I agree, DS9 was a superior show, but I think that the Voyager cast had an amazing chemistry .. much stronger the TNG's Voyagers Cast made the show fun to watch even when its stories where weak. DS9 was always powerful, sometimes tough to watch but alway so rich in context that you sucked it in.
Wish Avery Brooks would join these guys again sometime. But really, I just wish we could just pick up DS9 again & continue 20 years after the Dominion War.
Avery is a deeply outside of the box artist. When he had his breakdown as Benny, he wailed and cried for ten minutes after after the cameras rolled. He’s speaks in jazzy non sequiturs and makes no sense whatsoever. I don’t think he would have added much. There are pics of him at conventions completely checked out and/or asleep. The producers of the the DS9 doc said Avery said all he wanted to say about the show and Sisko and has moved on. However if Ira would produce a revival of DS9, I hope he would join.
From all I've heard and seen Avery loved the work of the show and loved challenging the writers and he loved his cast. His mind is just not focused on a singular thing, he lives in his present and keeps moving. Avery is hard to read sometimes so conventions and zoom is probably not the right forum for him anyway but he is missed in these reunions
I guess I needed that, as I sit here ugly crying for people I never met.. but who represented something to me personally. Art is beauty, and their beauty mirrored the glory of the cosmos.
I enjoyed it as well but found they didn't spend enough time with the actors. I think JG Hertzler (General Martok)was on screen for 3 seconds. I did enjoy the "what if we rebooted the show" story they did.
It was so-so. Ira's stupid goatee kind of bothered me. And there was a little too much virtue spewing self-flagellation over how they could have been even more enlightened. But it was nice to see most everyone one last time.
if i could meet any DS9 casts member. i would love to meet Morn. a hero of the dominion war, bank robber, a great talker and listener could talk with Morn for hours at Quark's, and from what the ladies say a hell of a lover. Morn the best underrated DS9 cast member. i miss Morn the most out of all of them. A Morn spin off that's what is needed.

They’re totally right about newer generations becoming fascinated with Star Trek and Deep Space Nine in particular. I was born in early 1999, just a few months before this series ended, and I have finally given Star Trek a chance in my 20s. I just finished watching the finale of this show and in many ways I feel like I’m saying goodbye to some of my closest friends. I felt very similarly after I finished TNG last year, but DS9 ended up being so much more tender and honest in ways that I can’t even describe. It’s like I was really there, drinking in Quark’s bar, lounging in Sisko’s quarters, talking in Odo’s security office, or wandering the promenade. Maybe someday I’ll have the privilege of introducing those who come after me to this journey through time and space. Thanks to all the actors who made this happen and rest assured...I won’t be forgetting a single one of you.
Alex Siddig recently did a short audio play series with him and Andrew Robinson (plus some of the others here). It’s a commentary on pandemic, but I definitely had the DS9 feel to it.
Well star trek online brought back most of the cast including Aron and Rene for a storyline about the Hruq. It was pretty good and it felt like another season of DS9.
Loved this panel. Thank you to all involved that brought DS9 to our screens. I never liked it during the original run because I was too young to really get it. Having watched it again and again in my adult life, I realize how fantastic it truly was...full stories fleshed out over time and the best supporting cast of any show. So many amazing characters and fine acting! 💖🖖

Wonderful to see how much they respect and love each other, says everything about Star Trek and DS9. There doesn't seem to be any divisive personality on set. What a great 24 minutes.
Nana and Avery made that show what it was. Not the say you others weren't important. But the heros journey both of you went through was the best sci-fi episodic television had to offer. The insurgent, freedom fighter, killer becomes the face of a New Bajor. Also she helped save the Alpha Quadrant. Ben, what can I say. His arch was a love letter to good writing and great acting. Ben became the man we men in the real only can hope to be. Thank you all for being the best star trek has ever offered. In cyberspace you will find immortality. What was what one person said, great stories only die when there is no one left to tell them. My prayer is that your story will greatly out live us all.
As a child I grew up on TOS and TNG. I remember DS9 but never watched it because at the time it wasn't the same as what I thought Star Trek was. Years later as an adult I decided to finally watch every episode of the franchise in it's timeline order. Boy oh boy did I scream at young me when I got into DS9. Not only does it embody the soul of Trek. It became my favorite series. It has some of the best written episodes of any television show ever written.
on a 90's trek binge in January (cleanse/detox)... almost finished season 7 of tng.. sooo excited to get onto ds9.... this was and still is an incredible series..
I was a big TNG fan and recently have been watching DS9 on netflix. When TNG was ending and DS9 was beginning I had gotten married. I was working 2 jobs at the time so didnt have much time to watch DS9. I am realizing now what an awesome show DS9 really was.
As an actor there’s this sense of unity and community that I’ve experienced with my casts and it brings me so much reassurance and joy to know that it’s still possible and waiting for me. Nothing but love for the cast, bless you all!
I really missed this time in Star Trek, both TNG and DS9 were absolute gems. Brilliant characters, storytelling and life lessons to aspire to. It is funny some of these actors were aged by Michael Westmore's in various episodes, but to see the actors years later, the actual real differences are so minuet compared to the applied make-up effects.
Deep Space Nine was a very special part of Star Trek, to me. Rene and Aaron was at the center of that. I thank them, the cast and all who brought DS9 to all of us. Thank you!
I’ve binged watched lots of the Star Trek shows recently despite not being alive for any of them being filmed. I’m so glad my dad passed his love of the shows onto me. Also as someone who is out of place in their community I really appreciate this show
Odo and Quark was one of the most complex, entertaining and fascinating relationships in the history of TV drama. Hearing that tribute from Armin Shimerman really brought a lump to my throat. Great show, the very best of the Start Trek universe and probably my favourite TV show of all.
I'm 38 years old and i found Star Trek for me just 3 years ago. Started DS9 a few ago and it's such a great show and i'm a bit sad that i missed or didn't realise the show at all back in the release time. The interests were different back then. But now i really enjoy watching them. We need this flow, atmosphere of these series much more in this time :-)
I said it before and I will say it again Star Trek And TNG dealt with exploration Star Wars deals with conflict DS9 deals with conflict AND exploration In an ideal world we would be looking forward to its 29th season this fall
Deep Space 9 was incredible in that it maintained the Star Trek vibe while showing us about Federation life in another part of the galaxy on a Space station. Very refreshing departure while maintaining the integrity of the ST universe. Loved it!
What an awesome reunion, but so sad that Rene and Aron are no longer with us. Wil said that "Far Beyond the Stars" was even more relevant now than then. I would add that the two-part "Past Tense" as well.
DS9 is still my most favorite Trek. They were ahead of their time : serialized storytelling, morally ambiguous characters, sympathetic villains, season long arcs.
As a gay man, DS9 spoke to me growing up because it tackled issues that I was dealing with.
It’s a shame they were under appreciated back in the 90s.
It’s cool that people are still discovering DS9 to this day.
As a trans person, it really spoke to me as well. Glad we both had a safe place in DS9.
As a person with good taste in TV shows, DS9 really spoke to me. As a person who was a teenager in the mid 90's, I never had any identity politics issues to deal with but then again, I never even registered the diversity of the cast in either DS9 or Voyager back then because it was never an issue at the time plus it wasn't emphasised and shoved down everybody's throats as is so often the case nowadays.
It's kind of like how I have been a Red Dwarf fan since the early 90's, yet I never even noticed that Danny John Jules was black or that Craig Charles was mixed race. Was just never an issue at the time. Nowadays though, things like race, sex, gender (or as it used to be called......... sex), sexuality, identity are used in place of narrative and proper casting to cover up the woeful ineptitude of the people in charge of shows like Discovery and Picard.
You are right though. DS9 tackled tough subjects back then in a sensitive, yet appropriate way which seemed effortless, well-written, appropriate to the plot and not contrived like the modern incarnations of STINO.

I saw DS9 on Netflix for the first time last year
I enjoy them all but DS9 was such a hidden gem. The stories, the cast, the character development was top notch.
Deep Space Nine added so much depth to Trek with its worldbuilding and character development. It took the franchise to another level.
To me, the answer to the Kirk vs Picard debate is, was, and always will be simple: Sisko.

It always makes me sad that Avery Brooks is almost never involved these things. It is absolutely his right to not be involved but he is hands down my favorite Trek actor and character.
Avery and Colm are two of my favourite actors and they're never involved in these things. I wish they were but I'm grateful we do have as many actors as we have who are involved.
@@Maazzzo Colm Meaney did an interview not too long ago for an Irish talk show called the Tommy Tiernan show (it's well-known for the host not knowing who the guest is going to be until they walk out), and they discuss Trek for a while on it. Well-worth checking out.

I don't think he's doing too well mentally these days. Seems happy enough, but very drifty and in his own world. He's pretty old now, so its to be expected.

DS9 was WAY ahead of its time. It did more serialized story telling during a time when TV didn’t do that too often. It was the first Trek I watched from beginning to end, and while TNG got me in the door, DS9 made me a fan

I had the pleasure of meeting Aron Eisenberg a few years ago at DragonCon. I was trying to tell him how much I loved his character and the fantastic progression Nog had during the show and of course he praised the show's amazing writers for it. In my head I was thinking, "yea but that was also you, you brought Nog to life" but I was a little tongue tied as happens when you meet actors/celebrities. I always thought to myself if I saw him again I'd explain myself better, but unfortunately I won't get that chance. I hope he knew how much fans loved not only the writing of his character but especially his performance and the life he brought to that writing.
Goodbye Aron Eisenberg and Rene Auberjonois. We'll remember you and your amazing work forever.

Not sure if you're fully deaf, but from the perspective that you can't hear the warp engines, phasers, tension music or other sounds besides just the different qualities of speech in alien languages, I'm just curious without this aspect for you, how our experiences might differ and to what degree. Honest question...hope I phrased it alright.
To me, one of the best moments of all the Trek series happened in Deep Space 9 with the exchange between Garak and Quark comparing the Federation and root beer in the episode "The Way of the Warrior". Just brilliant acting and dialogue.
Avery Brooks. In many ways the Captain we didn't want, but came to realize the Captain we needed. Greatness.
Such an amazing television programme and an amazing cast. Wil did such a great job interviewing everyone, and I just loved everyone's takes and commentary on everything. Thanks for making this available for us to watch internationally. This is my favourite Star Trek show and the brilliant writing and characters were the reason why. Episodes like Far Beyond the Stars, The Visitor, Past Tense, Duet, Trials and Tribble-ations, In the Pale Moonlight - thank you for giving us such amazing content and memories. 🖖

Deep Space Nine will always be my favorite Star Trek. There were two things they did which really set it apart from other Trek shows. One was how they made faith & religion such a significant part of the story, and did so very respectfully. The other was the brilliant idea to keep the main characters anchored to a location. In shows like TNG, you'd meet characters in an episode and never see them again. But with DS9, you had a large group of secondary characters who we got to explore more in-depth than we would on a more traditional Trek show. And by anchoring the main characters to a stationary(no pun intended) home, they couldn't just make a mess and then fly off into the sunset like the Enterprise could. They had to stay and deal with the consequences of their actions. It gave the writers the chance to craft story arcs that lasted multiple seasons, not just multiple episodes.
I watched Little Nemo with my nephew awhile ago, and when Dr. Genius came on I literally blurted out "ODO!" Now my nephew yells Odo when he's happy about something. Thanks Rene!
I didn't expect to be crying by the end of these videos, but this video and the one for Picard really got me in the feels. Also, WOW!! Ms Nana Visitor is still gorgeous as ever.

I watched the Voyager panel prior to this one, Voyager cast was fun and banter, as at times their show was, and interestingly, DS9 cast, intellectual, spiritual and heartfelt! Strange and quite apt how these actors truly represent the shows they once graced! R.I.P Aron & René
I agree, DS9 was a superior show, but I think that the Voyager cast had an amazing chemistry .. much stronger the TNG's Voyagers Cast made the show fun to watch even when its stories where weak. DS9 was always powerful, sometimes tough to watch but alway so rich in context that you sucked it in.
I remember watching DS9 when it came out. Seeing Cirroc Lofton now makes me feel very old.
Wish Avery Brooks would join these guys again sometime.
But really, I just wish we could just pick up DS9 again & continue 20 years after the Dominion War.
Avery is a deeply outside of the box artist. When he had his breakdown as Benny, he wailed and cried for ten minutes after after the cameras rolled. He’s speaks in jazzy non sequiturs and makes no sense whatsoever. I don’t think he would have added much. There are pics of him at conventions completely checked out and/or asleep. The producers of the the DS9 doc said Avery said all he wanted to say about the show and Sisko and has moved on. However if Ira would produce a revival of DS9, I hope he would join.

From all I've heard and seen Avery loved the work of the show and loved challenging the writers and he loved his cast. His mind is just not focused on a singular thing, he lives in his present and keeps moving. Avery is hard to read sometimes so conventions and zoom is probably not the right forum for him anyway but he is missed in these reunions
This made me realise how much I miss this show and the characters in it. It was by far the best Star Trek series ever.

After recently finished watching all of the seven seasons of DS9.... It's WAAAAY MORE BETTER than CBS' "STD".
I guess I needed that, as I sit here ugly crying for people I never met.. but who represented something to me personally. Art is beauty, and their beauty mirrored the glory of the cosmos.

I enjoyed it as well but found they didn't spend enough time with the actors. I think JG Hertzler (General Martok)was on screen for 3 seconds. I did enjoy the "what if we rebooted the show" story they did.

It was so-so. Ira's stupid goatee kind of bothered me. And there was a little too much virtue spewing self-flagellation over how they could have been even more enlightened. But it was nice to see most everyone one last time.

if i could meet any DS9 casts member. i would love to meet Morn. a hero of the dominion war, bank robber, a great talker and listener could talk with Morn for hours at Quark's, and from what the ladies say a hell of a lover. Morn the best underrated DS9 cast member. i miss Morn the most out of all of them. A Morn spin off that's what is needed.

They’re totally right about newer generations becoming fascinated with Star Trek and Deep Space Nine in particular. I was born in early 1999, just a few months before this series ended, and I have finally given Star Trek a chance in my 20s. I just finished watching the finale of this show and in many ways I feel like I’m saying goodbye to some of my closest friends. I felt very similarly after I finished TNG last year, but DS9 ended up being so much more tender and honest in ways that I can’t even describe. It’s like I was really there, drinking in Quark’s bar, lounging in Sisko’s quarters, talking in Odo’s security office, or wandering the promenade. Maybe someday I’ll have the privilege of introducing those who come after me to this journey through time and space. Thanks to all the actors who made this happen and rest assured...I won’t be forgetting a single one of you.

Alex Siddig recently did a short audio play series with him and Andrew Robinson (plus some of the others here). It’s a commentary on pandemic, but I definitely had the DS9 feel to it.
Well star trek online brought back most of the cast including Aron and Rene for a storyline about the Hruq. It was pretty good and it felt like another season of DS9.

Loved this panel. Thank you to all involved that brought DS9 to our screens. I never liked it during the original run because I was too young to really get it. Having watched it again and again in my adult life, I realize how fantastic it truly was...full stories fleshed out over time and the best supporting cast of any show. So many amazing characters and fine acting! 💖🖖

Wonderful to see how much they respect and love each other, says everything about Star Trek and DS9. There doesn't seem to be any divisive personality on set. What a great 24 minutes.
Nana and Avery made that show what it was. Not the say you others weren't important. But the heros journey both of you went through was the best sci-fi episodic television had to offer. The insurgent, freedom fighter, killer becomes the face of a New Bajor. Also she helped save the Alpha Quadrant. Ben, what can I say. His arch was a love letter to good writing and great acting. Ben became the man we men in the real only can hope to be. Thank you all for being the best star trek has ever offered. In cyberspace you will find immortality. What was what one person said, great stories only die when there is no one left to tell them. My prayer is that your story will greatly out live us all.

As a child I grew up on TOS and TNG. I remember DS9 but never watched it because at the time it wasn't the same as what I thought Star Trek was. Years later as an adult I decided to finally watch every episode of the franchise in it's timeline order. Boy oh boy did I scream at young me when I got into DS9. Not only does it embody the soul of Trek. It became my favorite series. It has some of the best written episodes of any television show ever written.
on a 90's trek binge in January (cleanse/detox)... almost finished season 7 of tng.. sooo excited to get onto ds9.... this was and still is an incredible series..

I was a big TNG fan and recently have been watching DS9 on netflix. When TNG was ending and DS9 was beginning I had gotten married. I was working 2 jobs at the time so didnt have much time to watch DS9. I am realizing now what an awesome show DS9 really was.

I really missed this time in Star Trek, both TNG and DS9 were absolute gems. Brilliant characters, storytelling and life lessons to aspire to. It is funny some of these actors were aged by Michael Westmore's in various episodes, but to see the actors years later, the actual real differences are so minuet compared to the applied make-up effects.
I'd just put out my feelings that the "others" - Quark and Odo - were also the beating hearts of DS9.

DS9 is the reason one of my boys has 'Benjamin' as a middle name. My favourite of all the Trek Series, and now I can re-again watch it all on Netflix.

I’ve binged watched lots of the Star Trek shows recently despite not being alive for any of them being filmed. I’m so glad my dad passed his love of the shows onto me.

Odo and Quark was one of the most complex, entertaining and fascinating relationships in the history of TV drama. Hearing that tribute from Armin Shimerman really brought a lump to my throat. Great show, the very best of the Start Trek universe and probably my favourite TV show of all.

I'm 38 years old and i found Star Trek for me just 3 years ago. Started DS9 a few ago and it's such a great show and i'm a bit sad that i missed or didn't realise the show at all back in the release time. The interests were different back then. But now i really enjoy watching them. We need this flow, atmosphere of these series much more in this time :-)

Deep Space 9 was incredible in that it maintained the Star Trek vibe while showing us about Federation life in another part of the galaxy on a Space station. Very refreshing departure while maintaining the integrity of the ST universe. Loved it!
What an awesome reunion, but so sad that Rene and Aron are no longer with us. Amazing to hear them talking about Far Beyond the Stars as well - we had to re-watch that for the millionth time after this panel! Thanks so much!
