My dad passed away earlier in the same year the game came out. I played through it a few months after it came out, and when I got to this scene, I.... well, it's not surprising that I had the same reaction to this scene as Byleth. My dad wasn't murdered, but Jeralt was a character I absolutely fell in love with as a father figure. And.. to have him ripped away from me as well... I didn't take it well. And stupid Leonie! I want to smack that stupid frown off her face... Last month, I relived the pain and sadness all over again. I did a playthrough of Blue Lions on my second switch. I got to the same chapter, did a 4 turn run of it, and then... Stupid Kronya! If it wasn't for the fact that Solon took her life force to try and seal me away, I would've strangled her myself. And then... then... I couldn't bring myself to play for a couple weeks. The pain was too great. ...see, when I play a game, and I get connected to a character, and that character dies, it's just like if someone I knew in real life died. So I had to take time to grieve, just like I did for my dad irl. Except, this time, I grieved him and Jeralt twiceover. And when I got back on, it was time for revenge. I just made it to the fight to take back Garreg Mach from the thieves. I've had it on bookmark for a couple days to do animal crossing stuff, but I'm getting all the treasure and doing a real good job of it. Tbh, my Byleth.. she's the crit queen. Out of like 18 attacks on enemies so far, she's literally crit about 16 of them. So I think revenge will be easy.
Im playing the church route right now and when Seteth announced the death of (someone) this music started playing. I felt destroyed. My apologies for the English, I kinda speak like Petra.

@@shadowoflife43 Only played CF/SS? Or did you recruit everyone? When Ferdinand dies as an enemy she says that in the next chapter right after her normal dialogue. If you can avoid killing him you'll just get her regular Monastery dialogue.

Almost done with my first playthrough which is Golden Deer, and pretty sure that you are forced to kill Ferdinand alongside Ladislava, in a "Kill all enemy commanders", which he happens to be, took me by surprise because I totally killed her first and saw that the map was not ending xd. PD: I do have Dorothea recruited and saw this dialogue on my own 🥲.
This hits hard since when you hear this, the units actually die for real this time if they didn’t die during the time-skip if they’ve been injured at the academy. Even worse is that those you could have had on your side have this too.

*SPOILERS (for a 1+ year old game, but still) This first plays when Jeralt is killed, which is the first time Byleth feels sorrow overwhelming enough to bring tears to his/her eyes. I like to think that he/she feels the same way when an ally or former student-turned-enemy is killed post-timeskip, hence this music. Definitely lets you know just how well Byleth settled into the professor role and truly came to care for those close to him/her.

If I could change anyone's death quote, it would be Felix's. I'd change it to this. "So, this is what you felt Gleen. I'm sorry for being so weak. Please forgive me" It'd make more sense IMHO and give an extra layer to him

Annette is so cute. But I love Lysithea more because of her determination and how she reacts to stuff and she's pretty. *In my opinion* that is. But Annette is definitely one of the best girls *in my opinion.*

Played BL on classic, and EVERYONE DIED IN THE FINAL BATTLE. Literally everyone, i had Cyril, shamir, catherine, some of the kids from GD and CF. freakin' sucked, man. hurt me good
I played Golden Deer, and while I still feel satisfied that I killed Edelgard, Hubert and Petra, I still feel bad about killing Caspar. Such a good and determined kid... Ferdinand, Dorothea, Bernadetta and Lindhardt were the Black Eagles I was able to recruit by the way. As for the Blue Lions, I recruited Mercedes, Sylvain, Ashe (and spared him in Chapter 15) and Felix, so I ended up killing Ingrid in Chapter 17 and Dimitri died soon after, but we didn't see Annette at all. And unfortunately, Dedue died in the Edelgard fight in Chapter 20.

As for the Blue Lions, I recruited Mercedes, Sylvain, Ashe (and spared him in Chapter 15) and Felix, so I ended up killing Ingrid in Chapter 17 and Dimitri died soon after, but we didn't see Annette at all. And unfortunately, Dedue died in the Edelgard fight in Chapter 20.
