“Locust Henchmen should not be that strong”
Cage, just cause the grubs are the first enemies you fight don’t mean they’re not dangerous.
To be fair in pretty much most of the campaigns and multiplayer the locust grubs are scaled down for gameplay reasons, but in actual lore they’re insane and almost an death sentence to fight in hand to hand.
The devs have said it's on them for making grubs look weak. They even said the grubs have been weak af basically fodder.
Gameplay purposes make sense. But there are a few cutscenes where grubs are ripping other gears apart bear handed.

Well the devs talked about it. Not uncaged fault the devs genuinely came out and said "grubs are fodder" they want ro make them scary again.
And yet they are still incredibly physically strong, they rip arms off gears for Christ sake 😂

they need to make them brutal harder actually faster and scary maybe have moments locust smash through a door or a weak wall or even a strong wall be scary as fuck
Actually Locust Drones are WAY stronger than humans, I believe Gears got some kind of experimental drug after fighting with the locust to make them bigger and stronger...because remember, Locust were made to be Super Soldiers by the CoG to use in the Pendalum wars against the UIR...but they escaped and the project was abandoned after they stole the Hammer of Dawn blueprints from the UIR
So it makes sence that Marcus was being thrown around like a sack of potatoes

Probably and if it isn’t the first this is probably taking place within the first 24 hrs of the soldiers even knowing what locust are so you could understand the struggle

Best reaction video I've seen. Thank you for acknowledging the strength of this locust he's fighting and actually recognizing that Marcus is actually struggling here. Keep in mind, the first locusts that were emerged on E-Day were hand selected to be the first ones to fight the surface because of their experience against the lambent, they were quite literally their best and strongest soldiers in day 1 and as the war went on they were getting more inexperienced

From what i saw for the trailer, this game takes place near the beginning of Emergence Day (roughly around the same time as the Shadow of Raam story of Gears 3) probably before Marcus got locked up, that would later lead into the story of the first game.
This takes place 14 years before the first game, if the wanted to, they could make an entire trilogy leading up to the events of the first gears.
The way it finally hit me today that Marcus took so long to kill the drone was because it was the literal first day of the war and he had no idea how to kill or fight them back as fast or efficiently like he does in the current day…..legit almost made myself cry lmao
This was during E-Day, before the Hammer of Dawn strikes. A Locust Drone was about 6-8 ft back then and far more formiddable than the ones we see in the other games, and this was a young, unexperienced Marcus. Wouldn't be surprised if this was rhe first Locust enemy he's ever fought. The Locust was absolutely decimating Humanity before the Hammer strikes, and the Hammer strikes wiped out about 80-90% of both sides' population. They were fighting a very different war during E-Day

Locust were meant to be stronger than humans. On E-Day they wiped out %25 of the population on Sera. Humans were completely blindsided by the attacks.

They should do a prequel Trilogy before going back to 6. Also Gears 6 should focus solely on Marcus and JD

Killing JD was one of the options in Gears 5. Expanding on the story with Kait and her connection to the locust hivemind to end the trilogy would be the way to go.

Not a bad take, most of the Gears of War community really like Gears of War 2, I do like Gears of War 3's horde mode better but I wish it had more maps from Gears of War 2.

When in lore have you seen a locust throw someone across a room? The dev's have admitted that they made the locusts too weak in the campaigns, hints why this one in the trailer appears a hundred times stronger than the ones you actually fight against.
