- I really miss my old Ducati Hypermotard 950SP, so I jumped at the chance to spend a day with one on track at Silverstone. Join me for a brief vlog as I see if I can hold on to Panigale V4s around this epic GP track and do them on the brakes. With only 114hp I had to bite the screen on the straights, but things got a bit more interesting on the brakes and mid-corner…

You give great insight into why exactly riding track on a "slower" bike makes you faster.
I didn't intend to, but now I engage my brain that's exactly what I've done 🤣 Now I need to buy an old CB500 and reach Rossi levels of speed
@@timrodierides Guess you're just wired right! But yeah, I've experienced it myself, going from an R1 to an SDR to a 701 supermoto, I'm now much faster than I ever was on those bikes.
I've just picked up one of these and already looking forward to my first trackday. Coming from an S1000RR it could be an eye opener! 😄

The 950SP is the most fun I have had on a street bike. I have never had it get "loose" on me with the stock Pirelli's even when pushing through corners.
I would love to have one of these.

Had my KTM 890r with all the trimmings stolen a couple of weeks ago and I’ve ordered one of these for the beginning of next year to make me feel better. They are a great looking do it all type bike. Hopefully this bike will help me with my trauma of having my KTM nicked.
Oh that's horrid, sorry to hear that. The Hyper's a different sort of bike to the 890r - a bit madder, a bit less flickable maybe. But both are mega fun! Hope you enjoy it.
Corner speed & entry/ exit is very important.

I've heard rumours the new version will be a lower power single cylinder bike. I guess the Monster SP might fulfil the nutty-bike niche for now?

Im 191 and i can barely flatfoot it, nice riding position, handlebar needs to be a bit higher and its perfect. The original seat sucks, ass hurts way to fast
Nonsense.. I run my Hyper 950 SP on track and in fast group at the Ducati track days.. easily overtaking V4’s

I traded mine after not being able to find rear sets. Evan as an intermediate group rider I was dragging pegs, shifter and brake pedal.
Loved the bike though! Just clearance issues on track which I am doing more of (hence the trade to Tuono 1100 factory.
Yeah I did my toe sliders in by the end of the day but I found I could ride around it a bit
Why were you in novices, you've done a video where you're told you should be in inters. If I had paid to be on that trackday I'd be pissed off Ducati are giving out free trackdays to influencers in the novice group so they can do their 'overtakes' at my expense. Then you have the cheek to have a go at people overtaking you to show how big their willies are ffs
Fair point, but you're also an anonymous internet commenter so your opinion is entirely void. If you watched you'd see I was going to move up to inters, but the day was cancelled.
@@timrodieridesI mean from the salty reply I think you know going in novice group on a ducati day to show how fast you are is pretty poor form, I like your videos on the whole hence knowing the content of them. These are people whose first time it was on track, probably uninsured, on bikes they paid for, which they cherish, but hey you've shown they that they've DONE IT WRONG on their superbikes (Unless of course this video is one long form meta take on influencers like those shorts you do, then boy don't I feel silly)
