Iv had my SPUR since 2006 ish. Looks as good as the day i bought it. No busted buckles ir flayed stitching. Solid gear and great investment.
The harness and frame system is amazing on long range ops.

I have an earlier version of this pack, I bought it in 2003 while in Timor. A great pack, very comfortable to wear while hiking. I used it to train with for walking with weights in wrapped in towels. Even with 25kgs it was comfy. They are a great pack. The only thing wrong with mine is I had a plastic piece on the frame break. I just used a piece of electrical wire to fix it and that was in about 2008 and it's still holds up fine. I like the new version with the internal zips to separate your gear. It also seams to have a bit larger capacity.

Wow...a really perfect design...loads of capacity and the four outer pockets with the overall size really makes for a fast and clean use.... EL DELUXO !

Great content mate, found your channel last night and binged most of your videos over about 6 hours before bed.
This daysack looks like a great compromise between a full size bergan and a large daysack. I can see why it would be useful in a Jungle environment. Very reminiscent of the US ALICE pack, definitely be looking into one of these in that nice Ranger green. If I’d have found your channel and this video a week ago, I’d have got one of these instead of the Helikon-Tex Bergen I’ve just ordered!

What amuses me, is how much the basic kit taken in the field increased in the last 40 years.
When I first took the Queen shilling in the early eighties we were not even issued with waterproofs , but had to rely on a poncho.
When finally left the Reserves a couple of years ago the weight of kit taken in the field has doubled !
Although more comfortable, and safer, I wonder how this weight effects capability .
No one used to wear old style flak jackets on the Irish border due to speed, was more of a consideration, although the chances of a contact were very high compared to a urban areas.
A good discussion is needed on where the kit of the future lays.

    • @PreparedPathfinder

      ALICE
      CROSSFIRE
This one various other plastic frame formats.
Whoever makes a pack like this one a inch or so ventalation, with removable hip belt, AND ability to but a bigger frame on will corner the market presuming the pack is good. Tropical or not its not got that 8 inch the alloy ALICE frame has.
Im in Australia and tbh in high 30s low 40s Cel, high humidity, the trade off there is go for the ventilation added weight equals less waigh because you can take less water

Nice one mate. Just a question on a slightly different tack, perhaps I have missed it, hidden deep in one of your other vids, during my training and especially on selection great emphasis was placed on having a couple of wide crepe bandages quickly available.
There is always risk of minor but significant ankle injuries when rough country walking and binding the ankle firmly with a crepe bandage often meant the difference between moving on and staying with the job in hand or lying, somewhere wet and miserable unable to go on with an ankle ballooned out .
With the death of rubbish G10 DMS boots has this practice died out?

Take a look at those people who are fleeing Ukraine right now, you can see that it is civilians, carrying traveling bags, school packs etc in different colors. No OD or coyote or camo colors. Soldiers would immidetly spot a certain style, those pack and clothing with velcro and molle stands out to much. But thats just how I reason if I would need to bugout.
