    This kind of video is a really great thing to do. It really helps people to decide whether it's for them or not. I particularly agree with your observation right at the end about some routes going off-road just for the sake of it when there's a perfectly enjoyable, and more suitable, road alternative. Well done and thanks.

    Really appreciate this video mate. I've been looking at the gpx route on Komoot for a month or so now before finding this. Thinking of doing this over my 31st birthday in June so massively helpful!

    Thanks again for your considered video. I am still working out how you also manage to film and drone. I note you do not even have a Trangea for hot drinks and basic camp food.
    Has Ginster's made you an offer yet? LOL!

      drones are pretty easy to fly honestly. I don't like tea or hot drinks really, Whenever i have carried one in the past i would end up never using it so just don't bother nowadays.

    This route is on my list. Do you have a link to the GPX?

    Hi Josh. Enjoyed both this and the subsequent ride video! I am contemplating this route myself but I am put off by your comments on the last 50 miles. Do you think that it would be possible to ride this towards the Kirkby Stephen area and then possibly revert or tack across to the Pennine bridleway back down to Edale? I take it your route will be on Koomoot at some point. and Iwill take a look and make my own deviations. Cheers Tim

      Its after you come through a place called colne that it gets a bit tedious and rough, and i think that is using parts of the pennine bridleway lots of stop and start with gates too.
      You can grab the route from www.secondcitydivide.cc/ if you need it.

    I'm planning on doing this in reverse as part of a combination of GB-divide, Second city and Badger divide from LE to JOG (thanks for the recommendation btw). Do you think it will work well in reverse?

    Thank you for the video I was about to down load the route & getting quite excited about it until you mentioned lifting the bike over gates unfortunately I can't do .Having said that I'm a locksmith , Can you remember if they were combination padlock or key on those gates , I may also knock the final 50 miles off of the end .

      I don't blame you. I'd like to know if these gates were illegally blocked as I'd imagine this whole route is on bridleways.

    Just wondering if you would have marked this ride down had you had started from Manchester and travelled northwards

      Same question, or is it worth just missing out the first/last section altogether?

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      id say this route is best done in the direction i did it glasgow - manchester.

    • @KeepSmilingAdventures
      @KeepSmilingAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      id say not necessarily miss it, but after you get to a place called colne expect it to get grindy and a bit tedious, the most gates on the route as well. if you wanted to not do that section then stop at colne
