Yes, open it up to the market. One of the reasons that healthcare costs are so inflated is that providers aren't competing for the general public's business.
Health insurance n America, acts as a cover for the high price charged by providers of American Medical Industry. If insurance industry is the only cause of high price of medical care, then lower price can be achieved by simply by-passing the industry and approaching the providers directly. Not supporting the practices of insurance industry, but they're the tar baby of medical industry. If insurance industry decides to withdraw from the medical market, will cost of medical care come down?
If the CEOs' decision to increase security rather than deal with the issue of how they finance healthcare, then, there is something very wrong with the financing of American healthcare. Should we condemn this violent, senseless act, the killing of Brian Thompson? Yes, of course. However, we should also demand better healthcare coverage. Healthcare is a right. Our parents fcought for it. They got it for us here in Canada Now, we have to defend it against the privateers and deniers. Canadians are smug, about our public healthcare, but all is not right in public healthcare land here either. Old people are often discriminated against. My 93 year old mother was. Disabled people are often discriminated against. My disabled husband was and still gets disgusting treatment at our local hospital sometimes. I see public services cut all the time so new public healthcare workers don't get the same salary, benefits or pension as older healthcare workers did. I feel pity for Mangione. He lead a privileged life until probably he was denied healthcare coverage by United Healthcare. That sort of immorality--let's call it what it is--would hit an individual from a prviledged background harder, don't you think? If you've been kicked around all your life, you would just take it, but if you haven't, if you've been the Golden Boy, you'd fight back and you might fight back violently.
The market tells you that you have to be healthy or you won’t be covered. But why should those not covered by the insurance industries have to pay more for the costs of healthcare?

Fire insurance: "If no one will insure your house, that is the market trying to send you a signal that you shouldn't live there." Apply that logic to health insurance: "If no one will insure your surgery/medicine, that is the market trying to send you a signal that you shouldn't live."

@@AndrewGarnerAdventures If mandated by law then people will have to pay higher costs. How about opt out and pay individually instead of passing the costs to everyone else?

Treat healthcare like we treat Police and Fire departments and Americans' quality of life (and financial status) will improve overnight. A federal standard for a single-payer system, with each state allowed to employ it as needed to fit their population's needs, so long as it meets the standard. It shouldn't be controversial, but many on my side have a blind spot on this issue... calling single-payer healthcare "socialist" but never calling Police or Fire "socialist".
"Dont live there" yeah I disagree with this assessment. If you are looking for cheaper homes in Califormia, you move East and East counties are typically more rural (also conservetive) and less develop than the more expensive coastal areas. These areas are also where the majority of the fires are occurring. California regulations also apply a heavy burden living in these areas... So eventually people do move out of state. Its the endless cycle with the Democrats in charge.
How many with United Healthcare are being denied healthcare right now even today. As It continues. It has nothing much to do with looks for most as myself. It is facts. And look into the report on United healthcare buying up Luigi's families nursing homes which reportedly gave good care to then have care decline to where people there were defecating with no care. All for the profits? To me id want the company broken up but our government is bought. The government is just as implicated and I am rightfully as cynical of the system as can be.
It's like the John Stossel thing where his state would insure homes, instead of a private insurer. So even if you stupidly purchased a home right on the ocean on stilts and it got washed away, the state would pay for it and your rates were kept artificially low. So he bought a home there, a lo and behold, his house washed away and the state paid for it.
5:45 serial killers and Charles Manson are not the same as this kid. A good question would be is how do we protest something like health insurance injustice while at the same time needing it? Because you don't know that you're not covered until you need it. Taking them to court seems unlikely since hiring a lawyer would not be feasible. What's the alternative? How can people make a statement without violence? I wish this kid would have gotten organized, gotten people organized. He was smart enough, good looking enough. He had it all.

Robby's argument about insurance is Calif needs to be looked into. The insurance industry is fleeing Calif because of regulations making it more expensive because there are less options
Robby is 100% on his Property Insurance comment. Build a multi million dollar home in a high risk area and then cry when the company does not want to underwrite that risk. If forced to underwrite it then people with $300k homes will see their rates double.
Insurance companies are not in the market to lose money. The sooner you learn that the better. What really needs to be addressed is the cost of Healthcare in gnrl. Lower the cost to where people can afford it.
And the way the market lowers costs in most other industries is to open it up to competing providers. That puts downward pressure on prices. If we want lower costs, we need to stop protecting providers from competition.
The fire insurance problem is the government RESTRICTS the ability of insurance companies to RAISE insurance rates without a long involved bureaucratic process and approval, so eventually the insurance companies are forced to exit the market because it isn’t profitable. The subsequent increased price of insurance IS NOT the insurance company-they cancelled upcoming policies-instead it’s insurance from the government through a special policy that does in fact raise premiums by 4x per year. The government is clearly over regulating the market, but to the point where businesses can not operate SMH 🤦🏻♂️
If insurance companies never denied coverage, they would all go bankrupt. Then no one would have coverage. The business model requires they collect more than they pay out. The problem with healthcare is one of supply, yet we approach it by adding demand. We need to make it easier for people to become doctors.
On fire insurance: we've been subsidizing housing insurance in flood planes and tornado alleys for decades, so I can see why people are upset that suddenly houses that are in fire zones that weren't fire zones when they are built are upset.
Oh my stars! America will not unite behind Trump, but we will unite behind the need for healthcare reform. Now which politicians have actually been working in favor of healthcare reform? It starts there.
If people want to have righteous targets of their anger over the health insurance industry, start with the government, both federal and state. The regulatory framework for health insurance is one of the top contributing factors to the way the system runs. State and federal legislators should consider pulling their heads out of their rears and do their jobs right.

Companies are in business to make money. Unless you want a Soviet style system better get used to it. Personally our health care system is wrongly encouraging. The monetary incentive is not to keep you healthy it's to run procedures, tests , treatments, etc. Perhaps the government should direct it to another way.
Wildfires in Northern California have been occurring since time immemorial. I visited the areas near Santa Barbara and the South Yuba River valley. The cloud cover does not produce rain.

If you've been kicked around all your life, you would just take it, but if you haven't, if you've been the Golden Boy, you'd fight back and you might fight back violently.
well united heath care is worth twice as much as walmart and they both cheap skate on employees and customers
The market tells you that you have to be healthy or you won’t be covered. But why should those not covered by the insurance industries have to pay more for the costs of healthcare?
I can’t believe I finally agree with Joe Rogan on something. Health insurance companies are awful!
You don't need to do business with them. Pay out of pocket.
I'm appalled by Robby's take on Luigi. Let's not forget that he is a son and a brother! He's an accomplished young man who is clearly admired by all who knew him.
So are the people whose deaths that he caused. Sorry, but not sorry.
Thank you for pointing out that people own homes that shouldn't be built where they are. People always cry and blame insurers.
Political violence is how the United States started dumby.
Did Joe feign disappointment or sadness over Thompson? Cuz that was true street justice. And Rogan is historically in favor of street justice.
Fire insurance: "If no one will insure your house, that is the market trying to send you a signal that you shouldn't live there."
Apply that logic to health insurance: "If no one will insure your surgery/medicine, that is the market trying to send you a signal that you shouldn't live."
I am currently sitting outside of a retina specialist. Wife is inside being told that our new insurance at my new job doesnt cover the retina specialist because he is not in our network.
The closest in-network provider is 6 hours away.
😢
Violence is never the answer but Insurance companies need accountability. If they refuse a treatment/medicine THEY should be held responsible for the outcomes. Right now there is ZERO accountability and they are not Drs. The fact that the media acts like they don't understand why people are cheering him on shows how disconnected they are.
For-profit health insurance is not working for patients.
Sorry, but no sympathy or empathy here in this case. Karma works in strange ways.
Robbie bending over backward to not get it and stay completely out of touch.
Niall is seriously underestimating the abilities of 'random people on their couch'.
For a Northern Irish Journalist, an odd take. "By the Ballot Box and the Armalite" is like, every Irish song
A lot of CEO's are doing the same thing. When you know you are doing the wrong thing's, STOP. You know you are hurting your employees and or customers for bonus money. Change your job. Be a better person.
Robbie‘s argument about insurance fall apart because they insist that you have this insurance it’s like bylaw you have to have it, the insurance companies lobbied it to be that way so now they have to to ensure it’s ridiculous that they don’t. They can’t have it both ways and this is why people are so upset. This is the ignorance and hypocrisy of a Republican. They’ll never tell you the full story.
I feel you. If you make it mandatory by law, no one should be denied coverage!
It i only mandatory in certain states. Trump did away with the federal mandate in 2017. I looked it up.
@@AndrewGarnerAdventures If mandated by law then people will have to pay higher costs. How about opt out and pay individually instead of passing the costs to everyone else?
@@darlacox The mandate is gone but I believe that it allowed insurance companies to charge higher premiums or require back pay when you do eventually sign up for insurance again. So, it's still a loss and in its own way still a mandate
@AndrewM1567 oh, Yeah, I didn't get Humana until a couple of years after my medicare started and I do have to pay about $25 a year and it would've been no cost to me if I had gotten it immediately. Obviously this is not an issue in my case but I can sure see how it could be. I remember that being the deal with car insurance too.
No one cries at their worst enemies funeral!
Can't believe Americans want private for-profit health insurance and then complain that insurance companies cut their claim payout expenses.
Hey Robbie, you said this was a left wing phenomenon
Is as if the free market can't solve all of human needs. Almost as if the state should provide basic healthcare to its citizens. 😨
Do you realise that the killers last name is Italian for "someone who over-consumes to the point of waste" or a "glutton" Just more epic symbolism for y'all.
Robbie, there are 2 types of 4chan users. The first I am not allowed to fully describe because this is youtube and not reddit, the second kind uncover government secrets.
back in the day 4chan was the only place we could see the pics of dead bin laden to prove he actually died. so i think it's useful and important. to your second point
@@charlottehammond8975 It also started a great sci-fi horror fanbase from what I know.
Robby's argument about insurance is Calif needs to be looked into. The insurance industry is fleeing Calif because of regulations making it more expensive because there are less options
Sorry Robbie that is most of California.
Can someone please clip Robbie, don't f with cats. 🤣😆
Just remember, Rogan wouldn’t have been talking about healthcare and insurance in general if Luigi hadn’t done what he did
Homie, he was talking about healthcare when he had bernie on years ago. You can sit down and be quiet now.
He has been talking about it for a long time. You haters are just coping.
He talked about it in his interview with RFK.
Robby is 100% on his Property Insurance comment. Build a multi million dollar home in a high risk area and then cry when the company does not want to underwrite that risk. If forced to underwrite it then people with $300k homes will see their rates double.
Exactly! People just don't think.
A "pool of risk" is not a hard concept to understand.
Finally someone down to earth and with brains.
Insurance companies love caps well let's cap how long someone like Luigi can recieve at five years .
Insurance companies are not in the market to lose money. The sooner you learn that the better. What really needs to be addressed is the cost of Healthcare in gnrl. Lower the cost to where people can afford it.
A voice of reason in a sea of people who don't understand.
So anything a health insurance company does (or any company, really) in the name of increasing profit is acceptable?
@@utah_koidragon7117 so anything a govt intervention does to reel in healthcare insurance companies in the name of lowering costs is also acceptable?
And the way the market lowers costs in most other industries is to open it up to competing providers. That puts downward pressure on prices.
If we want lower costs, we need to stop protecting providers from competition.
@@nicklll4477 I didn't say anything like that.
Robby yet again showing his ignorance.
Everyone knows UnitedHealth isn't great coverage. Why aren't people upset that's who their employers went with because its cheap?
If insurance companies never denied coverage, they would all go bankrupt. Then no one would have coverage. The business model requires they collect more than they pay out. The problem with healthcare is one of supply, yet we approach it by adding demand. We need to make it easier for people to become doctors.
I’m not sure what’s going on with the cohost situation in the seat opposite Robbie but it is nice to see Niall in there.
Hey Robbie, California here. Insurance is making ALL of California uninsurable. So..... We all move?
Robbie is conflating reasonable doubt with might be guilty
Thompsons finaly got denied and deposed, whats that old saying whats good 4 the goose is good 4 the gander😊
Like MSM, the hiii is tone deaf. They would have you belive that we like this guy because he is handsome. How more out of touch can you get.
amazing how these guys manage to *just* touch the core of the issue for barely 1 minute only to fill the remaining 8 mins with disucssions about netflix, internet sleuths and fire insurance. Well done sirs.
Always thought the richest country in the world had universal Healthcare, pharma care and dental care. 😮
@JOE ROGAN: THIS CASE is an EXCELLENT example of when JURY NULLIFICATION is appropriate!
(I doubt you're unfamiliar with this legal procedure, although I can't recall any discussion of the topic on your show.)
This is something that YOU have the platform and personal credibility which are capable of bringing this idea into sufficient public awareness that it could become virtually impossible to select a jury ignorant of their superpower…
Please, MAKE IT SO!
This is free market capitalism America and you are welcome to start your own non-profit insurance company with low premiums and no denying of claims. Good luck. Many have tried.
niall is so kneejerky. sure miss brihana. robbie, doing ok.
The Banks will cancel your loan if you don't Insurance it.
In New Zealand our insurance went from 3K to 8K in 1 year. In our area we don’t have wild fires & most of NZ would be flooded if we get flooded
$125,000K a year for fire insurance? Even for CA standards that’s she’d to believe
Companies are in business to make money. Unless you want a Soviet style system better get used to it. Personally our health care system is wrongly encouraging. The monetary incentive is not to keep you healthy it's to run procedures, tests , treatments, etc. Perhaps the government should direct it to another way.
If you don't want insurance, don't buy it. Just go straight to the doctor or hospital.
It;s taking a long time but the McMedia is slowly caving in and starting to talk about this.
He’s right you know …
It's seems like everyone is attacking Rogan to try and knock him off the lead in views so they can be the most viewed
I dunno Robby - thats a US thing. No western country has this "market signal" with insurance and still have decent prices.
Gross is what you said about broccoli at age 8. I'm skeptical of any adult that uses the word.
Heres my problem, if we know we don't like it where is the good guy version? Why am I charged a Fee if I dont get insurance?
Wildfires in Northern California have been occurring since time immemorial. I visited the areas near Santa Barbara and the South Yuba River valley. The yellow grass grows very high, goes on for miles, and naturally starts on fire year after year. The cause? Seasonal lightning storms and high winds. The wind and lightning occur without rain! The cloud cover does not produce rain.
PUTS ARE IN THE MONEY
That was Roger Avary next to Tarantino, the co-author of Pulp Fiction.
These hosts give me bad vibes
Robbie is redirecting so he can cover for the rich.
Who do you think you are telling people that the market can tell you where to live? No sir, insurance is to insure and should have to insure those willing to pay for insurance.
I cannot stomach you high and mighty people trying to tell people how to think.
That’s why we watch Joe Rogan and the like, because people don’t want to be talked at or down to!
Why do you care what Rogan has to say? Hes a martial Arts expert, I want to hear his views on Helth care as much as I want to hear KAmaka Harris views on MMA
He is cherry picking about building in flood plains and fire zones. This is not what we're angry about. Your arguments are thin and people are on to you (Hill). Developing disease is not akin to building in a flood zone.
Employers have options but they choose UHc because they are cheaper. Just another layer.
If only all insurance was nationalized. Lol, I just heard Robby's head explode. 🤯
The heroes will be anyone who works to change things once the media moves on to the next hot story ...
Libertarian view? ignoring climate change you mean
The guy in the glasses sounds very jealous of the assassin
Seems like the powers will be at a loss when they find both sides have lots in common.
