This should tell you something Cuomo! America is tired of being screwed around! We have had enough. I don’t condone violence but I understand why this happened, and I hope UHC gets the message!
Changing America's healthcare system would require a significant increase in taxation. Americans for the most part don't want higher taxes and won't vote for socialized healthcare if they have to pay for it. This is what ensures the statue quo endure and why nobody is taking to the streets.
The “elite” also came from somewhere. Not everybody who has the upper hand looks down on those with less, some of them want to make a difference and understand why drastic measures are taken against those who benefit. *edited for spelling* As a rich, white man, Cuomo is trying to tell you that this person who grew up benefitting off of people suffering knows what was happening is wrong. And nobody’s happy with that?? I live with provincially funded healthcare, and I work in healthcare, and I have screamed, standing on a hill for those who don’t get what they deserve. You don’t have to come from the bottom to fight for justice and equal rights. This is why the economy suffers because nobody in power fights for what is right. All of you Americans are just out for yourselves and it’s a big ass pity party down there.

So the dude that shot the UnitedHealthcare CEO suffers with chronic back pain at the young age of 26 years old. The same thing happened to me at 20 years old (I'm now 33). I've been in chronic pain the whole time. The world just leaves you to rot including doctors, friends, & family. ACC did not even pay for my doctors appointments, let alone any kind of treatment (I paid them thousands doing a high risk job). Meanwhile the ''All Blacks'' are smashing their heads together & are covered for whatever they need. People have no idea what chronic pain will do to your mind, it slowly erodes your sanity. If you are weak mentally, you have no shot. It's either you take yourself out, or crash out like that poor kid did. Pain takes all your enjoyment out of life. You can't enjoy ANYTHING without the constant pain, even sex is unbearable. People including immediate family members have told me to get on with my life, like you can just put a band-aid on the problem. You become an obstacle to people. Your moods are filled with rage, anger, & resentment towards almost everybody. I don't condone murder of an innocent man, but I understand the crash out of Luigi Mangione. If you have a buddy that's telling you they are in pain, reach out to him or her instead of thinking ''harden up mate''. Ask them if there is anything they need help with. Not a single person reached out to me (left to rot). This is why people crash out, & then the world is surprised by it. Luckily, I'm mentally strong & can handle it, but most people can not, like Luigi Mangione. I don't post anything on Facebook (social media is a cancer to society), but this matter is important to me. You likely know someone who is suffering, so REACH OUT TO THEM. There are thousands of ''crash outs'' you never even hear about. Do your part to prevent it, instead of being so judgemental. Chronic pain is a DARK HOLE you can NEVER crawl out of. It will eat you alive.

I accompanied my mother to do endoscopy a few months ago and had to fill out the same forms over/over. At least 10 different people (staff/nurses/doctors) came by to ask the same questions about her medical history. A month later, she received five different bills from hospital, lab, GI, pathologist and anesthesiologist, totaling $15K before insurance. Every party wants to max out the profit from one patient and bill as much as they can. I know for a fact, the same procedue will cost 90% less in other countries, within reasonable amount of wait time. Americans have struggled like this for decades. Luigi is not an out of touch lunatic. He is the kind of people American founding fathers would be proud of.
It's unfortunate and the same thing is happening with veterinary care. I just paid $500 for blood work for my cat which included the visit and sedation because he wouldn't allow them to draw his blood. And he's still sick, after I lose my kitty I won't get another one because I can't afford vet healthcare.
Appropriated oppression - did you just made that crap up? It is like saying you can't defend or have strong feelings/empathy towards animals just because you are not animal yourself
@ he’s not though. He gets a little condescending but it’s towards the way things have been handled. It’s all “ things should be handled peacefully because that’s how you make change” sarcastically. Not towards the people.
I admit that his actions were wrong but he has a point. 99.9% of people agree with him except for the rich. We have an issue with the system and he took it too personal in hopes to enact change. Sorry for him and the family of the CEO.
Imagine hypothetically, the ceo would still be alive if he was in jail waiting trail for massive insider trading right before UHC antitrust trial went public. Life is absurd and weird.
Chris bad reporting! Do your job, interview the guy in Hawaii who owned the co-op. They study groups like this, in addition Luigi was denied pain medication for the four pins that replaced in his back so he was in excruciating pain constantly with no reprieve. Do your report before you report please. You are skipping badly.
It's not youur lived experince either Cuomo, Your dad was a mayor, your Family is rich. Those CEO family was also smiling while denying the client's claim
Hey, Cupmo, you do not for sure details of his life, his relationships and extra. Don't be so sure and judge by the cover. If you like so much the health care system, you can change your job.
Just because his parents have money doesn’t mean they’re sharing it with him. He’s a grown adult, who probably makes a very decent amount, off his own career.
One needs not be poor to feel the injustice and want to do something about it. He got the education - he's smart enough. Sounds like he came from a good, warm family too. Gee, could it be possible that he, even as a privileged kid, can actually feel fiery empathy for the inequality?! Nonviolent conversations plees have been held about thos for years, but the greed of corporates got only bigger. Can you really not see how that makes people desperate to find an outcry that will actually be listened to? SYSTEMIC CHANGE HAS OFTEN NEEDED VIOLENCE TO START!! Come on dude, so out of touch. Wake the fuq op and stop yapping the politically correct.
The French and American Revolutions were led by men from backgrounds similar to Luigi's. Where would we all be if they hadn't appropriated the oppression of those less fortunate than them?
"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic." Which is more evil? Which should or shouldn't be more tolerated? Who is being asked to tolerate what?
The French and American Revolutions were led by men from backgrounds similar to Luigi's. Where would we all be if they hadn't appropriated the oppression of those less fortunate than them?
Guy speaks in circles. Destroying his own argument. Fight the battles we want you to fight the way we want you to fight them. Corporate America needs you on their frontline.
This is the very reason he is pushing his propaganda so hard. He doesn't realize it is more likely to backfire because he is pissing so many people off.
I said in my last comment, that i don't condone his action but that being said, one assassination in 1914 produced the kind of systemic change that we rarely seen in history. From emperors to peasants, life on this planet was never the same.
The problem isn’t his FANS , it’s the larger amount of people who would normally condemn him, but haven’t. This murder has hit the zeitgeist. What ever view you have about the brutal fact, you can’t deny the effect . I’m not optimistic about the future frankly. Something has to give !
I sympathize with the struggle of the American people dealing with a greedy profit driven healthcare system, but no man acts alone as judge, jury and executioner.
Pretty sure the U.S military and CIA do this around the world all the time to many people including unarmed women and children. And when someone exposed them they were arrested and called traitors even though one was Australian.
I hope NewsNation and especially Chris here, are putting as much effort and time into investigating healthcare and other corporate fraud as they put into cornering some people or movements with concerns and anger. If not, NN and Nexstar are not in any way different than what they themselves often call "Mainstream Media".
It takes a lot of integrity to protest conditions that don't affect you personally. Like protesting what is happening in Gaza and being called anti semitic or calling out mistreatment of minorities and the vulnerable. Most Americans do some of these things on regular basis.
Do not expect the deer to weep when they are told the hunter has die. LUIGI doesn't even looks like the picture at the NYC Hostel. They have the wrong guy.
I totally agree with Mr Cuomo. The hate culture promoted by you know who. My sincere prayers and condolences to the bereaved family of Mr Brian Thompson🙏🙏🙏
he is going to suffer alot with his back pain in jail with no medical care... he might die from his illness...and doctors don't know or won't heal him...
You have no idea what goes on in the mind of someone else. This is the reason I have backed off all MSM. To quote Tim Walz, mind your own damn business.
I wish he was smarter and got b&b property for 2 weeks and got rid of the I'd and ghost ... 🤷🏻♂️ Why?? He's now pleading not guilty!! Are we missing something? He is apparently so smart!!
Oh and Luigi surrendered peacefully. He's talking responsibility for what he did and standing by his ideals. I wish I could say the same for all the corrupt politicians and corporations that sold the rest of us out decades ago. The kid shames you all.
Well said, Chris! I had a summer job accident 21 years ago. I have multiple complex chronic conditions from that accident and others that are completely unrelated. I have faced more than my share of denials from a variety of private insurance companies, workers comp, Medicare, and Medicaid. While change needs to happen, nobody has the right to kill anyone for it - it’s barbaric and inhumane. What did killing the CEO do exactly? It doesn’t fix anything. He didn’t make all of the denials himself - he’s likely never even looked at a claim on his desk when he’s got plenty of staff who do that stuff. At that point, may as well go after everyone who processes these claims too. While we are at it, why not also go after the farmers who use pesticides on our crops? Or the companies putting crap ingredients in our food (and my service dog’s food too) and other items like clothing, pots, toiletries, etc. Like why stop at only murdering the CEO of a single health insurance company?! (sarcasm) How do we fix our healthcare? We vote for policy makers who will hold insurance companies accountable and put the power back into doctors’ hands. We vote for policy makers who will fix our food safety - issues at farms, at food manufacturers, etc. We don’t kill a single head of an insurance company because that’s inhumane and doesn’t fix anything. It isn’t that singular man’s fault or responsibility that so many of us are sick when laws haven’t properly protected us for decades. It is a very sad day in America when people celebrate over someone’s murder. Chris is right. I couldn’t agree more. I am embarrassed that some of my fellow Americans would think shooting a man in the back is the way to handle the healthcare crisis.
But how can you compete when those same policy makers are getting campaign donations from health care companies such as UHC and who have paid lobbyists in Washington? And how can you fix food and safety when it has also been infiltrated by special interests and who also have lobbyists? The US is a corporatocry, how do you fix that?
You can try and deligitimize luigi in any way you like but it won't work. The incident last week and the subsequent public reaction is symbolic of something much deeper and meaninful than healthcare alone. The society is broken and people are angry at the people who broke it.
That manifesto is so damning. It’s hard to believe he’s pleading not guilty. Secondly, I don’t condone his behavior but I find it amusing people are disregarding his experience with healthcare and illness bc of his “affluence”. Doesn’t matter how rich you are. Not to mention the profound mental health implications of dealing with a medical issue in your early 20s. Does it justify murder? No. But the reality is part of why he became radicalized was due to personal experience and mental health issues related to it.
I think the experience of being exposed to his mothers pain from neuropathy has a lot to do with what he did. I’m not taking up for him. He was wrong. But his description re the pain from neuropathy was so right on I thought he had neuropathy. It brought tears to my eyes because he was telling my story my frustrations. Doesn’t justify murder.
I have back issues and I haven't even had surgery. I'm not in pain all the time but when the pain strikes I sometimes stay in bed 3 to 5 days waiting for the pain to go away. I can't imagine having to live with that 24/7.

And he's still sick, after I lose my kitty I won't get another one because I can't afford vet healthcare.
Back pain will change your perspective
Appropriated oppression - did you just made that crap up? It is like saying you can't defend or have strong feelings/empathy towards animals just because you are not animal yourself
It's called Being Woke.
Just shows what he thinks of the poor, being an elite himself.
Why is everyone so angry with Cuomo??
@@SlightlyJudgemental Because he's talking down to us he knows that health care sucks.
Totally agree. Other 1st world Countries offer their citizens Healthcare. Europe, Canada, Australia just to name a few!!!
@@lourdesgreen2213 the insurance industry is way too lucrative in the states and they buy politicians to keep the status quo in place
@@lourdesgreen2213 That's a problem with your government, not the CEO of a company.
It takes ONE person to make a change. Yes, this man went about it the wrong way. Insurance companies need to change.
Imagine hypothetically, the ceo would still be alive if he was in jail waiting trail for massive insider trading right before UHC antitrust trial went public. Life is absurd and weird.
Which is why I still consider the possibility that this was a hit and this guy is willing to take the fall for whatever reason.
He had plenty of family money to pay for pain medication. It’s hard to believe any orthopedic surgeon would deny him pain medication.
It's not youur lived experince either Cuomo, Your dad was a mayor, your Family is rich. Those CEO family was also smiling while denying the client's claim
His father was govenor...but I understand your point.
McDonalds has a RAT Problem
Hey, Cupmo, you do not for sure details of his life, his relationships and extra. Don't be so sure and judge by the cover. If you like so much the health care system, you can change your job.
Just because his parents have money doesn’t mean they’re sharing it with him. He’s a grown adult, who probably makes a very decent amount, off his own career.
What career?
His parents gifted him a house and he sold it for $900,000.
Can you believe that Luigi owned a mansion.
This is reaching so hard to tow the party line that you have dislocated every joint in your body.
@@TheMindIlluminated .....but I'm afraid that won't be covered by his insurance.
If O.J. didn't do it, Luigi didn't do it. All you need is reasonable doubt for acquittal.
Cuomo that was a pitiful segment 👎🏼
Who let this guy back on tv didn’t they learn there lesson already
Good to know empathy is now dubbed appropriated oppression. Wild take. Wild spin.
CUOMO SHUT IT!!!!
Want change? Get the money out of politics. Simple!!!!
"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic."
Which is more evil? Which should or shouldn't be more tolerated?
Who is being asked to tolerate what?
Just unsubbed. This is a United Health paid ad.
Most of the famous communist and socialist leaders and philosophers come from affluence
FDR too
The Buddha, too.
Yeah, you would think Cuomo would have an awareness and realize this!

Mandela was involved in violent terrorist acts before he went to prison.

Media going a little too hard on this proves its a OP. You are really getting sloppy. 🐉
Guy speaks in circles. Destroying his own argument. Fight the battles we want you to fight the way we want you to fight them. Corporate America needs you on their frontline.
He would’ve seen the injustice of the health insurance industry firsthand you don’t need to be poor to see it.
Goofy Cuomo with a goofy elitist, pompous take. Predictable as always
Cuomo is such a tea bag.
He is Fredo
We are tired of you. Hire expensive security.
YES!!!
This is the very reason he is pushing his propaganda so hard. He doesn't realize it is more likely to backfire because he is pissing so many people off.
We are Luigi!
what happened to Cuomo?
I said in my last comment, that i don't condone his action but that being said, one assassination in 1914 produced the kind of systemic change that we rarely seen in history. From emperors to peasants, life on this planet was never the same.
The problem isn’t his FANS , it’s the larger amount of people who would normally condemn him, but haven’t. This murder has hit the zeitgeist. What ever view you have about the brutal fact, you can’t deny the effect . I’m not optimistic about the future frankly. Something has to give !
I fail to understand why we keep on entertaining the assailant, when we fail to report on the real issues he is trying to advocate for.
true, that's really the important thing.
Cuomo is standing on a moral high ground....
More like selective moral high ground. I don’t see him reporting on the injustice’s within our system of government.
@@10fanticSame way he covered for his brother
Ah Yes, the same moral high ground he stood as his brother made nursing home policies back in the day?
Didn't he get fired for sexual harassment or some kind of misconduct?
You are so out of touch with reality.
... actually, look in a mirror (as if you aren't glued there).
I sympathize with the struggle of the American people dealing with a greedy profit driven healthcare system, but no man acts alone as judge, jury and executioner.
Seems like one guy did.....
Pretty sure the U.S military and CIA do this around the world all the time to many people including unarmed women and children. And when someone exposed them they were arrested and called traitors even though one was Australian.
Weird take ,Cuomo, stick to going on TH-cam podcasts. Trying too hard for views. Your lawyer background isn’t helping here
I hope NewsNation and especially Chris here, are putting as much effort and time into investigating healthcare and other corporate fraud as they put into cornering some people or movements with concerns and anger. If not, NN and Nexstar are not in any way different than what they themselves often call "Mainstream Media".
Single payer universal healthcare public option. Change is the answer. Not murder. Duh!
Yup!
profit is above people, and that's not just in America, it's everywhere.
The tragedy is that people don't have - or perceive - any other way to address the problems.
Oh he's the change agent and the equalizer.
It takes a lot of integrity to protest conditions that don't affect you personally. Like protesting what is happening in Gaza and being called anti semitic or calling out mistreatment of minorities and the vulnerable. Most Americans do some of these things on regular basis.
It's referred to as a "Hero Complex".
its not about his experience. its about the us as a whole.

Hey Guido, there is a reason why CEO’s pay a lot of money on security. Don’t believe me? Ask Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, Tim Cook etc…
reasons vary, but in the case of health insurance CEOs, it's pretty clear.
Chris is complaining about the political division he HELPED CREATE when working for CNN. Hilarious.

Shhhhh that didn't count...... because it is bad for the rich wad narrative.....
We don’t know his whole story he hasn’t been able to speak directly about why he did what he did .
I wish he was smarter and got b&b property for 2 weeks and got rid of the I'd and ghost ... 🤷🏻♂️
Why??
He's now pleading not guilty!!
Are we missing something?
He is apparently so smart!!
Also we haven’t confirmed he sees himself as a victim.
Its not everyday where you have a suspect dead and a victim in custody
People tried peaceful protests and it didn't accomplish anything.
Im not defending a murder but hopefully the insurancers will start valuing their recipients like they do their employees..
@@learningtobefilipino8606 they won’t
All insurance is a con game. You pay for the service, but when you want what you paid for, you don't get it.
Do they value their employees? I heard that they went ahead with the investor meeting even though the CEO had just been killed outside the doors.
Oh and Luigi surrendered peacefully. He's talking responsibility for what he did and standing by his ideals. I wish I could say the same for all the corrupt politicians and corporations that sold the rest of us out decades ago. The kid shames you all.
It doesn’t really matter who the messenger was; what matters is that the message resonated DEEPLY
(sarcasm)
How do we fix our healthcare?
Finally, one of the few here that actually can think beyond the level of a 6 year old. There aren't many.
But how can you compete when those same policy makers are getting campaign donations from health care companies such as UHC and who have paid lobbyists in Washington? And how can you fix food and safety when it has also been infiltrated by special interests and who also have lobbyists? The US is a corporatocry, how do you fix that?
This is disgraceful “news reporting”.
I can't imagine having to live with that 24/7.
correct.
@MadameLaGuillotine yes, and how is a person supposed to work, and earn a living with that pain?
Dam chris what the heck i usually like the segments lol but that stretch was was so big that it's dam near Olympic gymnastics
Rest in peace to millions who have died from greedy health insurance companies
