  • First time ever attempting anything like this. I didn't quite make my goal of getting to the North Loop Trailhead at 8,400 feet above sea level (5,600 feet of climbing) but I got real close to climbing 5,000 feet - at that point my knees and back just couldn't do it anymore. Reached a new max speed of 49.0 MPH today. Had to fight with 15-20 MPH crosswinds or headwind most of the way down, think I had a tailwind where I got up to 49 MPH (78.9 KPH) somewhere around 15:00 . Total distance was just over 40 miles. The bike I was riding is a 2016 Wilier GTR Team.

That's far beyond my physical ability, but I appreciate the thought.
It's more fun to descend Deer Creek Rd from Lee Canyon side. I've encountered some very nasty crosswinds going down Lee Canyon.

I often ride with the Giant Bikes Summerlin shop group ride on Sunday mornings. If you make it one day and I'm there, I'm the guy with the white Wilier (riding with people mostly on Giant bikes lol)
