The process of getting married in Belarus involves the following steps:
Marriage Registration in Belarus:
First, you need to register your marriage in Belarus. This involves submitting an application for marriage registration.
You must reserve a date for the marriage registration in advance. Typically, this reservation should be made at least 3 months before the desired date.
About a week before the reserved date, both parties (the intending spouses) need to visit the Register Office (Bureau of Acts of Civil Status) to complete the marriage registration form.
If one of the intending spouses is a foreign citizen, they should submit a “Certificate of Marriage Relationship” obtained from their home country. It’s advisable to obtain an apostille for this certificate in advance and get it translated and notarized locally.
On the reserved date, the marriage registration takes place, and the couple becomes officially married. The marriage certificate is issued on the spot.
