    i have a heart disease. all my sick leaves make me undesirable in the job market and destroyed any potential career that i could have had. absence from work slows down careers no matter how you feel about this "injustice".

    Allowing such leave is completely unnecessary, in fact this right can easily be abused by employees, I’m a woman myself and I know we are strong enough to not require leave for menstruating

      No. Its not the employess choice its a doctors. This is thought for incapacitating periods like those from Endometriosis. All this law changes is that in a normal sick leave you dont get payed the first 3 days with this law women needing it, remember ita a dr that has to authorice it, will get payed since day 1.

    It still doesn't answer a few questions
    1. Is it additional leave or included in the definite amount of sick leaves
    2. The 5 days she mentioned, is it per year or 2 etc?

      Spain has no max sick days. If your sick and the dr says you cant go into work you dont go in.

    I suspect that most women would be afraid/uncomfortable taking time off work for that reason, for fear of being seen as unreliable.

    It's kind of scary. At one time Karen and I were living in a common law marriage. Then, she "woke" up. Our relationship is disintegrating. It struck me that I used to feel secure. Very safe. And now, I hide behind my bruised and battered male ego, or what is left of it. I'm just hoping not to get shot.

    First of all, almost every organisation in India gives 15 Sick Leaves to their employees. Women can apply for their leaves under this category.
    Secondly, lets says 15 days aren't enough and a period leave is introduced. Based on some calculations, every month, a woman may want to avail 2-3 days off for periods. Assume on an average 2.5 days each month. This means that in 12 months, a female employee will get extra leave of 30 days - an entire month!
    Getting salary for 12 months and working for 11. It's only going to rile up the men, who would have be more productive to make up for the pending work.
    Lastly, many organisations are moving towards a better gender balance. In my organisation, the ratio is 66:34. If 1/3rd women are working for 11 months out of 12, the men will have work extra hours to complete the work.
    This will lead to chaos at some point.

    At last ! Some women yes can't work, function because of excruciating pain. Maybe now but for so many years they went and ask for help but they were quickly sent home with pain killer.....

      Here in Spain as a father I had the right to one hour of work each day to bottle feed my sons. I also got 16 weeks payed paternity leave to be home bonding with them and helping my wife.

      You can identify but not use it. Its not menstrual leave its incapacitating pain leave. Not all women can get it and its given by a dr.

    Take a leave work on a weekend. Just make sure to adhere to the 40hrs work hrs per week. Nobody shoul have a problem. It is a win win for both.

So my concern is they should find better solution for this giving straight up 3 days paid period leave is not the solution. Maybe they can allow to Period as reason to get Paid Sick leave.

    Today marriage, as redefined by the female democratic majority and family court system, makes the man a slave to a tyrant wife, who can divorce him at will, stealing his children, his wealth, and his human dignity.
    All womens natural unregulated desire is to have sex with high status bad bad boys and get innocent men to pay for the responsibility consequences(abortions, kids ect.). That's why women, no matter how meritocratic, should never vote.
    Women want equal rights authority to make all the decisions in their own life when the alpha f*cks opportunity is there.     What about the emotional breakdown leave? You know men across the world don’t feel good for 8 days of each and every month. It will be better if Govt. passes a bill that supports the 8 days leave for the men(not including sunday and holidays) in case i feel sad or emotional misbalance.

      It does come under sick leave. Yet in Spain sick leave due to normal illness you get payed after day 3. This gives women payed leave since day 1. Dont forget it does need a dr to give it you.

    I think for ease of implementation, it maybe a better idea to just add some x numbers of sick days extra for woman, say some 10 days in a year. Then they can avail it like any other sick leave.

    That is the main reason why women do not deserve the same pay as men. The men keep working while the women have a legal recourse to take off. By the way, I am a woman and I have seen how men had to pick up the slack when women are not available to pull their weight.
