It’s insane people were identifying Ferguson as the weak link in the media. He went on to win another 6 league titles and a champions league.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy a legend.
I forgot how badly I always wanted Solskjær to come on!! dude's a goal machine
We have a keeper problem until the great Van Der Sar came
Ruud was a monster but solsjaer was really underrated
Absolutely, Solskjaer was a much better player than he gets credit for.
Watching some of the old stuff now, Cole and Yorke were also truly brilliant! I don't care that they don't have 700 goals each, they were world-class!!
Barthez was an absolute calamity
Onana 2.0
Brilliant centre mid Barthez
@@don_crisbbb5377you mean Onana is Barthez 2.0
Barthez was the most fun keeper ever! His style just resulted in howlers occasionally. He was still a great keeper, but blunder at Utd and people lose respect for an entire career
Onana born to replace Barthez. LOL
Onana is giving me Barthez vibes.
Barthez would probably go crazy from all the pressure if he played this day
Fergie's biggest mistake in my opinion was not getting Van der sar in straight after Schmeichel.
Juventus beat Utd to Van der Sar in 99.
The 01/02 season would've gone fine if Ferguson didn't sell Stam! This yarn Ferguson is spinning about Stam losing pace is nonsense! Ferguson is like a politician... everyone knows he's lying but his interviews are what the official record is. Stam said at the time it was because of the book, and says the same today. Stam is still annoyed about it.
After a player initially returning from surgery, it is normal if they're not instantly 100% as fast as they were prior. Stam had been the best centre-back in the world for the previous 3 seasons, and was Utd's vice captain.
If it was a loss of pace that saw Ferguson sell Stam at 29 years old. Then why did he bring in a 35 year old replacement who'd lost even more pace?!
How I wish I could go back to 2001-02
We will never get another Ruud playing for us😔... It was fun while it lasted
Ruud was on FIRE!!!
Looking at Fabian Barthez in these videos, it really gave you the impression like a travel cone was standing between the posts. No posture, no presence.
😂 😂 😂 😂 True

0:48 that lazio kit was sick! I remember i bought one eventhough i wasnt supporter, one of the best kits ever made.
Lazio's previous 2 kits were awesome too!
Imo, the mid-90s - mid-00s was when we saw the peak of football kits. Juventus/Sony. Fiorentina/Nintendo then Toyota.
The sponsors these days have no character, it's just about the money. Mostly tech companies - which I suppose Sony, Nintendo, SEGA, are too... but they were making video games
The worst thing about this season are Barthez too much make silly mistake
Just like Onana right now 🥲
@@kentangprojectabsolutely
Utd's keepers in recent years have been much worse and don't get dropped or replaced...
It's a fall in standards and expectations at the club
I think after reading comments on here that Fergusons biggest mistake was letting Carlos Tevez slip through his fingers in the pursuit of Berbatov. It took him years to get a keeper he trusted after Schmeichel left too. Stam was a mistake but his absence wasn't long lived. On another note Ruud van Nistleroy is the best out and out striker I've ever seen.
The season United had some hopeless keepers.
Lol barthez was an absolute legend for utd 😂
@@kamranzaid2272he really wasn’t
True
@@jaysphere7519 How 2 more? He played 3 seasons at United winning the Prem twice.
@drgreenthumb5225 Barthez was with United for four years between 2000 and 2004, winning two Premier League titles in the process. But his erratic displays saw Sir Alex Ferguson lose patience with him and he spent the final season on loan back at former club Marseille, who he subsequently joined on a two-year permanent deal. Do a Google search pls.
That season David Beckham finished 1st runners up for the FIFA player of the year.
It’s interesting that SAF tried to sign Vieira when he was planning to retire. He then did the same thing with Van Persie aswel it’s like his aim was to weaken his opponents before he left
The RVP one was because he was never going to allow us to lose another title on goal difference. Just wish he got to play under SAF longer
Except he didnt plan to retire when he bought RvP.
@@harukrentz435Not sure about that, I’ve read numerous reports which state otherwise, he only informed United in feb . Arsene Wenger said in an interview when SAF bought RVP he knew it was because he was planning to retire so surely it was planned
@@harukrentz435he was leaving 2012 but couldn’t after Manchester City win title
I would of been 12 when I was watching this season
I was a GK for School
I remember thinking why Is Fabien Barthezz so bad
He was the cause to so much calamity and goals
Every shot seemed to just go in
Well 20 years Later
I can honestly say he’s the worst Manchester United keeper I’ve ever seen
He was 2001’s Harry Maguire
Tbh 😂
Fabien Barthez is worse
And congratulations Cuz that takes some doing 🙌🏽
Absolutely diabolical keeping
Fergie was getting put to the sword every week by the newspapers 😅
Fabien Barthez flailing and splashing about like a Magikarp from Pokémon 😂😂😂
How He made it Pro makes you wonder anything is possible 👍🏽
Veron didn’t hit heights at all
But King Ruud 😊
I honestly love you
I can’t say that about any other player
Ruud was different 🙌🏽
Gave you a special scintillating feeling 👍🏽
'Irwin played his last game before retirement.' - he went on to play for Wolves the following year and actually played again united 2 years later in the prem for them after helping them up from the champ?
Apologies we got our info wrong on this one
Siir alex rumoured with the sack that was mad but the worst thing was the fact that david oleary was linked with the job 😂😂😂 this was like 22 years ago too 😂😂😂
David o leary is arsenal legend and manager of leeds united at the times
Yeah then Fergie stayed for another decade after this and kept winning trophy after trophy 😂
ese manchester united era un equipo clasico de esa temporada y excelente documental saludos desde chile 🇨🇱
THis was the dream team!
Stam didn’t have a knee injury. It was his Achilles.
When United Had the French Onana in Goal
I regretted skipping the intro...!!!
I remember the night in 2-3 against Deportivo. Lord Barthez was in goal, I swear I would have gone on the pitch and kill him 😂 Thank god for Nistelrooy who made my night in the first half. Too bad we lost 2-3 because of Barthez
Was that the match Diego Tristan got A Brace??
@@midasacquisitions Precisely that! Electric first half, thought we would win in the second half
barthez is crazy
Bolton like brighton
😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
barthez nearly ended fergie’s life 😭😭😭
Chelsea could be swapping places with Ipswich at this stage 😢
8:54 BECKHAM!!! 👹
Yz...yz
100% percent
Biggest mistake Ferguson ever mr made was selling Stam too early
Nah his biggest mistake was not getting Van der sar in straight after Schmeichel...had 5 years of disastrous keepers after Schmeichel which could have easily been avoided.
@@FilthyMind1 shhhhhhhh
We begin poorly bt am sure well b ok
Sir Alex's biggest weakness was his ego. He forced Staam, Keane, and Beckham out. Beckham and Keane should've retired at United, Staam always arguably one of the best defenders at that time as well.
Kicking beckham, keane, and ruud out was correct decision, they had become problem however stam was different story but still we sold him for £4m more.
@@harukrentz435 how was Becks a problem? His only problem was the fact that he was a global superstar. His work ethic was never in doubt, and he never challenged Sir Alex openly.
And won titles after getting rid of them all.
Pep does this too and still wins
barthez tolil wkwkwkw
Beckham best season
Its similar season to this 2023/24
We can't score so maybe in the defensive department.
We lack beckam only
Soljskaer like pellistri
Roy Carroll was absolutely useless 🙈😂
Don't forget Massimo Taibi
So was Bosnich, Ricardo and Barthez 😂
Barthez was the United useless goalkeeper ever
Ruud never won the champions league
Barthez was a waste
Beckham was in top form this season
