Why are you trying to shoehorn Tarantino into this discussion? Fuck what he thinks. 'Unbreakable' is a deconstruction of the superhero/superhero story before everything became meta.
This film is a masterpiece and one of the greatest films of all time. I have no problem saying that. It’s one of the most emotional films I have ever seen, too!
I was the only person in my friend group who'd even seen this film for a long time, and after "Split" and "Glass" were released, it started receiving more praise from them.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Loved it the first time I saw it and still do today. My favorite Shamhammer movie and I really like a few of them a lot.
The Aliens weakness in Signs was also WATER...so M.Night clearly has some issues he needs to talk out with his therapist. Maybe someone tried drowning him at summer camp when he was a kid.
Interesting. Though I'm guessing it might have been a while since you saw it. Mr Glass didn't just sabotage the train. It was multiple disasters he caused.
To me, the appeal is that it's _'superheroes, but more plausible.'_ He's just a lot tougher, healthier, and naturally stronger than 99.9999% of humans, and also has absurdly good instincts. I mean, the whole visions thing is stretching it to the breaking point, but other than that it's something you could maybe imagine happening for real. It's just the natural human tendency to think that there must be something that exists in opposition to a particular state. If some people are just biologically doomed to being physically weak (like Elijah) or sickly, than why shouldn't there be someone out there that's absurdly tough and healthy instead? I mean, it's not even entirely wrong either, there are people who are unusually tough or healthy without trying, it's just not to the point that you can toss them into situations like a deadly train wreck (where every normal person dies) and expect them to survive without getting hurt (or survive at all, really).
David Dunns super powers werent born out of aggression...they were born out of trying to save his loves life....he first discovered his super strength when he lifted the car to save her...but they also say that is possible in real life because of adrenaline...he probably blew off the incident because of that fact.
Signs was one of his bad ones....The twist of water burning them makes no sense, considering Water is the reason life is on this planet....They should have got the shakes just coming into orbit.
Tarantino said it brilliantly, where he thought of it as a ‘what if Superman was real but didn’t know it’ story

It's about superheroes and that's what's so super about it.
This is my favourite M. Night film.
When Night makes a good movie there is something about the way it’s filmed, it’s always interesting but sad and exciting at the same time
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. Loved it the first time I saw it and still do today. My favorite Shamhammer movie and I really like a few of them a lot.
M. Night's best film TBH ❤
My second favorite M Night Shyamalan movie
James Newton Howard’s score was everything
I will never forgive Shyamalan for the ending of Glass. Still infuriating years later
No joke that is one of those movies
Where, the ending ruins the entire movie.
When John McClain and Zeus become enemies.
The Aliens weakness in Signs was also WATER...so M.Night clearly has some issues he needs to talk out with his therapist. Maybe someone tried drowning him at summer camp when he was a kid.
Wow he’s one of my fav directors and I really enjoyed this analysis of his movies and background. ❤
'Unbreakable' is better as a stand alone movie
no reason you can't watch it as such... so, is it somehow ruined now?
@@tonybarnes2920 the ending to Glass 😬😮💨
I always felt Unbreakable was about being true to who you are and you won’t be happy until you find your place in life.
Good question
5:39 - Remember how Signs ended?

It was the soundtrack that hooked me. It had the same effect The Way of the Gun had in me
Easily the most underrated film of the 21st century. NOT an exaggeration.

i watched and have a better understanding after your review
Have you seen the satire UNBAKEABLE? 🙂
Im watching this movie before i watch the video. Sounds cool.
I have this movie and it took me three times to fully understand it and I understood it fully
Back when Shyamalan was hailed as "the next Spielberg"
need to watch it before i what this
Hey guys what the f... Happened to "Sam Worthington" just curious?
i love The Happening
saw this in a theatre in Philadelphia--at the end, everybody booed. Everyone
And M. Night Shyamalan is from that city
Signs was one of his bad ones....The twist of water burning them makes no sense, considering Water is the reason life is on this planet....They should have got the shakes just coming into orbit.
👍
its the best Super Hero movie of all time
When I saw this I thought this how it would be in real life if superheroes existed, that’s why like it.
Baby Cakes, this is my favorite M. Night Shamalongadingdong movie by far. Except the moronical reveal
Best Shyamalan movie, besides The Sixth Sense
But I thought we were supposed to hate his films and think he's the worst filmmaker in history
Why are they showing this guys face likes he's a big deal? What makes him more special than all the other Joblo narrators?
