I am 4 days after surgery ...I must have had the best doctors EVER . I have absolutely no pain ..never used the pain pills . Jus tylenol .I can sit ..stand ..walk ..bend over ..use to potty . I mean everything is jus like normal ...I was terrified because of watching these videos BEFORE surgery ..thank god I didnt and as I type this literally 4 days now ...and feel perfectly fine ..😊
For me the journey home was very painful. Every bump in the road made me cry out. I realized half way home that compression helped MASSIVELY, and pressed down on a little cushion I had with me that I was hugging. SO much better
I had mine at the same hospital, they where amazing!! I am 5 days post abdominal partial hysterectomy (cervix and ovaries intact). Thank God I didn't have to roll over. I got my drowsy behind out of bed next day and I was released in the afternoon. Gas pains are the worst as well as getting out of bed. I did sneeze once and I thought I would die.. not over reacting.
Just got out the hospital yesterday. On my 3rd day on recovery. Getting up and the gas is the hardest part ever. Especially the pressure you feel on your lower stomach. But walking around isn’t bad. Laying on my stomach and being able to lay on my side stinks lol.
Hi Abby :-) Thanks for sharing and you really hit the head nail. I'm on day 9 and awoke screaming and crying from leg cramps, itchy burny achy crampy belly and gas to boot. Everyone... take your meds!! Even when you feel you've got this (like I thought yesterday), your physical body will beg to differ.
Just had my partial hysterectomy and no pain meds needed had the lap robotic only thing is the gas pains for me other than that no pain from the hysterectomy..speedy recovery for all
I just had my partial Thursday march 7th 2019, I am on day 7 and I feel great. I didn’t use pain medication just IB profine and Tylenol.. I hope it continues to go aweaome(: glade to hear someone else did the same @taytay
Ugh, the gas pain is worse than the surgery lol. I couldn't use the morphine drip because it made me sick. They ended up just giving me a non narcotic anti inflammatory in the hospital and Tylenol 3 when I went home. Happy to hear you're doing so well after surgery.
I use a walker to asist me in walking. And they made me keep my Cathater in afterwards. I have to go back in to get it out. So I'm really getting good at the Hysterecomy Shuffle. Lolzzz.
I just had a hysterectomy 5 days ago. I did not do a video....actually I was barely able to walk when I was sent home. I had the uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries, and a large fibroid removed. I received some pics of the fibroid. Not pretty. I was in tremendous pain because, like you, I don't like pain meds, but I did take a bit of it over the last few days. I am walking a bit more today. It is hard to cough and I am scared to sneeze. I am the stubborn kind, and need to be up and about, doing things...so this has been a tough time for me....but I am learning to listen as I still have over 5 weeks of healing left to go.
Gina Welds Hulse hi . I have to have the exact same thing. I am so scared. My Fibroid is the size of a 6 month pregnancy. I am scheduled to have my surgery on June 5, 2018. I sure could use some tips from you. Lol.
ShadyPinesMa79 me too. We are just gonna have to lean on God , and take God in with us. BY HIS STRIPES, WE ARE HEALED. Nothing too BIG or small He can't do. This is then when he carry us. I love you, and you are in my prayers.
Gina Welds Hulse I had a total hysterectomy on 6-20-2018. I did stay over night for one night only. I never realized that it be this hard. As I'm one that needs to be doing stuff. Walking is getting a little better. Slow but steady. OMG the first time I sneezed. Good luck in your healing.
Abby, I had quintupple bypass a few years ago and the best advise I can give you is, #1 use your pain meds if you need them and, #2 Walk, walk, walk, you'll be surprised how fast it'll get easier and you'll start to feel a lot better 😀 Love your vids Ab 😄😄
Today is my day 4, thanks for making these videos. Up and downs. First time I coughed I felt like I was ripping apart. I'm opioid tolerant so the first day was hell, but getting better every day..
I have Chronic Bronchitis and so I cough a lot. The pain is near unbearable so I have to push on the middle of my lower abdomen in order to alleviate some of the pain by taking off some of the pressure I have when I cough. So I get you, Sister. They sent me home with 5 mg Oxycodone and told me to use Tylenol for breakthrough pain. Needless to say the pain killer only works if I'm laying still. Bummer.
Thank you for sharing! I have to get a complete abdominal hysterectomy May 23 and very worried! I have very large fibroids and hope things go well! Thank you for your videos!
am sooooooooooooo glad your home...your looking amazing...I have had 39 major surgeries and several non major...so I can emphasize with you...when you need to cough or laugh hold a pillow tight against your abdomen. ....definitely does help...sending healing prayers and hugz
It is great that you are doing these videos. They will certainly help out others facing any kind of abdominal surgery. Absolutely take the drugs! Once you decide you really need them, you will be in pain for a long time before they work otherwise. Keeping an eye on your dosage is very wise. You probably already figured this out, have something you can use your arms to support yourself with when you stand. You will feel like a great grandma doing it, but it helps.
Thanks for sharing. I go to the doctors tomorrow and will probably have to have a hysterectomy due to fibroids as well. So currently I am doing my research and getting as much information as possible. Take it easy and rest. Again thank you for sharing your story
I had a hysterectomy in 2008, I was in the hospital for 3 days, I was walking the first day, as soon as I had the catheter and the oxygen taken off i was walking and burping (constantly) and for some reason a week after the surgery I had an insatiable appetite for chocolate like 2 or 3 chocolate bars a day
Hi Abby, I have had 3 c-sections. I know exactly how you feel. when you have to cough, . Walking place a pillow in your lap and lean forward and light cough. It does help. walking is the best, the more you do the better it gets. Just dont over do. God bless and love all your vids.
I’m on day 5 post op. I’m home. Day two I was home. I got my nails done, walked around target, and then came home to rest. I haven’t went back out. I’m just relaxing. Peeing and pooping just fine. The stitches in my vag hurt but other than that I’m okay. Feeling fine.
Glad to hear your doing well my friend! I hate but love the feeling of pain meds post opt. I like being in control of my mind though not feeling pain is awesome. Keep up the great recovery and don't go crazy being stuck at home. Sending positive thoughts.
Glad to see your up and home and doing good. Every thing you you said took me back to 1996 only thing my incision was all the way down my belly I'm so glad you didn't have it like that get well April
Today is my 4th day, feel tired lots of pain!! Hysterectomy is a serious business guys!! Conception is the most painful experience so far! I had this problem before hysterectomy as well due to the fibroids! My parents who where visiting my sister in Virginia came to surprise me which that cause me to feel more tired because of too much talking and moving! My parents left in the morning yet I feel pain everywhere yet I wanted to spend more time with them even though it was exhausting 3 days after the surgery. I can’t tolerate with bloated stomach, makes me impatient and annoyed Please go for surgery as your last option left for you!
That damn morphine drip made me feel like bugs were crawling all over me, and then the vomiting... Wasnt for me. They put me on Percocet and The TellyTubbies made me a fan on the tube :)
Great vlog, coughing was the worst part ever for me! Use you pain meds, they help you heal because they make you feel better. Trust me if you hurt yourself you will know it other then the pain. Look at pain meds are part of healing rather then something that is not going to help you. If that makes any sense. it will get better a little everyday!
38 yrs of age...8 days post-op first couple of days was awful maybe just the hospital stay they never let you rest....home stay has been good 😬😬😬its the gas and constipation thats going to get you...and those leg things she's speaking of are evil i have sores from scratching....but for the most part im fine and i had an abdominal hysterectomy ...walking is important but dont over do ..pain level is managed only ib800 today...wish you well
Jessy Bee ok so I haven't made an update video of my situation but I had a seizure on November 29th and my Obgyn postponed it until my neurologist will ok me to have it done and I need it badly. I have a small You Tube Channel and havent done much on it because we had to move and Im swamped with doctor appts and tests. I don't have much privacy to film...but Im thinking my car for filming for a while. So I need to do an up date and make them short because it takes alot to upload on my phone.
I got my surgery 6/4/21 stood overnight , I just got home 🏡 yesterday @4pm.trying to use the bathroom but nothing .did a bit before leaving the Hosp. What have you eaten to go. Because pain pills gets you constipated. I’ve been drinking lots of water they told me to take miralax . I do been having a desire, but as I sit on the toilet it disappeared. His kind it took you to use the rest room
You look great kid, I'm so glad you're doing ok. Thanks for not posting the pic of your uterus, I'm kind of a sissy when it comes to that kind of thing. Here's to your continued healing.
I'm in Day 3. Norco does nothing for me, so I take ibuprofen. Mine was outpatient so I was home the same day and I kept my ovaries. I had a fibroid as big as a cantaloupe. Coughing is the WORST and I feel like my intestines are going to fall out when i walk! Thanks for the tips!
Hi Abby Glad to see your home. Dont push your pain too far then the meds wont work as well :) Im sure you will be runny around as usual sooner v/s later :) Take care :)
Hi, thank you for posting your videos! I will be going for surgery in 2 months. I actually broke ankle 2 1/2 months ago...had surgery and still not walking on it...so that is why I have to wait for my hysterectomy. How was and is your incision? How are you now? My profession is pretty physical so I am just trying to figure out how long it will take to get back. Is there any chance you can post an update? :)
glad to see your in such good spirits. keep doing well. just so u know eggs can make u gassy so u may wanna avoid the eggs just until you can eat without gas pains causing so much discomfort. get better soon!!

Melba Miller my mom had her done 7 years ago and they loaded her up and she's on medicaid. I wonder why it was different for you. I'm sorry you suffered in pain though
Walking, coughing, laughing, pooping....all HORRIBLE post-op!!
