      I concur! Eric's work is top notch. I've spent way more on lessons with a person who gives me a fraction of the info that I get JUST from this one video... that's why I support him on Patreon... (hint hint)

    Very thoughtful way to take some Hendrix thinking apart; use another artist’s song, just as Hendrix did so beautifully and so regularly. His blues legacy is legion for such a short recording career. When we go to the alter of Jimi we always return with manifold new understandings about much of music’s higher intentions. Big thank you for this ride up to the mount.

      Yeah - it's very tricky to get the doublestops to come out clean and fluid for me too! The attack has to be just right, not exactly gentle, but graceful. Slow and steady wins the race!

    Hey Eric, Thought share cool story with ya. In 1997 I bought an old house ,went inside and 2 dogs came running out, and a nice homeless man was living inside. Walked thru and got to the cellar, and on a concrete brick all dirty was that same Silverstone head inch's above water. Some TLC and couple AX7s later, it sits on friends shelf among Jcm800s, Tweed Bluesman's and more and he claims it's better than the rest he has. To hear it thru a 400lbs Leslie is amazing. Thank you sir for the sounds!

    Hi Eric, you are really one of the best teachers on youtube for this style of guitar. I have purchased some of your tabs including this one. My only recommendation would be please provide a count for the start of you backtracks. It's really difficult to play along with this backtrack especially without a count in (not sure if I am saying that correctly). Otherwise, thanks for the super work you are doing.

    • @EricHaugenGuitar
      @EricHaugenGuitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much Rob!
      *Usually* I make sure my backing tracks start with 1-2 bars lead in.
      However, this one is a special case as I made it *after* the video shoot - kinda built it to follow the guitar. I think I can go back in and put a bass walk up in, though. That'd probably help a lot!

      But of course, Jeff!
      This is such a fun way to work on penatonics & doublestops - take them slightly out of context and see what happens :-)

    That lesson has totally elevated my approach and I'm really enjoying playing again! As ever your tone is amazing! I picked up the Deco pedal and its gotten me closer to where I want to be sonically. Thank you so much Eric! ps get some merch happening so we can show you some love and share what you're doing!

      Cool! Congrats on the Deco! I find it really comes to life when you crank the saturation Knob 3/4 up.
      Regarding merch - my wife has a screenprinted clothing line so I bet I could make some T shirts happen :-D

    Picked up a hot rod deville... an older one. American made. So glad I got this lesson in before I picked it up I was playing a solid state with a custom tele and finally got the amp I need for it. What do u dial your tweed in at ??

    • @EricHaugenGuitar
      @EricHaugenGuitar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are great amps! The clean tone and reverb is as good anything Fender's ever made!
      I keep my tweed pro real low - my drive comes from the Deco.
      Settings:
      Volume - 2.5
      Bass - 3
      Treble - 7
      Presence - 7

    Great Lesson Eric. Superb sound from that Mustang/ Tweed combo. Inspired me to do more practice. Do you ever try a rotary on your mix?

    • @EricHaugenGuitar
      @EricHaugenGuitar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks!
      As you can imagine, I love rotary effects! I used to keep a univibe on my board, and and constantly battling with the desire to put it back on :-D

    Hey Eric, are you hybrid picking on some of this?...If not most of it?...especially the hammered DS's? I just bought the tab for it and I am trying to incorporate some of the technique into my playing...

    • @EricHaugenGuitar
      @EricHaugenGuitar  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hrmm it varies quite a bit, I think. When I want a snappier sound, I’ll hybrid pick, but you could get similar results with either technique - try it both ways and see what you like better! 😎

      Thanks man, and will do...I was just curious for that little run in C minor early on to get that quick flutter it seemed to me that it would work well there but with a little less agression so as not to get too much of a 'pop' from it
