    Here’s some insight I can provide about Evernorth and Night Stalker. They sell their products either in person at their tasting room or online through Bourbon Outfitters. But when they sell online, all releases start by giving purchasing priority to their Bourbon Junkies patrons. Single barrel releases tend to sell out before making it through Patreon, the batch releases usually make it to the general public but not for very long. When they make a certain product available to patrons, they get all the info about what’s in the bottle on Patreon, and probably on Bourbon Outfitters as well when you’re making the purchase. I do think that it would benefit them to put more detailed info about each batch on their website for new people to find.
    That said, I’ll defend them a little bit in a few ways. If you have an Evernorth bottle of any kind in your actual possession, pretty specific info about what’s in the bottle is right there, which is less than can be said about other NDP’s blends and single barrels lol. I think BJ’s expectation based on the size of their operation as well as how they do business at this point is usually that people drinking the whiskey have the bottles with the info, or know someone who can give it to them. Some of that info can also be found in their TH-cam videos, which I bet they expect people are watching. If they get to a level of someone like Barrel King at some point, I bet that how they provide info about what’s in their whiskey will probably change. So for someone like you trying a sample, info might be harder to find, but I think you might be an outlier on how you’re acquiring and consuming Evernorth whiskey 😂. And I feel pretty confident about this stuff because I just purchased a bottle of their Omen Arctic Spirit release, and knew going in exactly what I was purchasing, as someone who was already an avid fan of BJ’s (pause) and keeps up with most of what they are doing. But if I gave a taste to my friend and he tried to look up what was in it on his own, he might not find much.
    As far as Night Stalker specifically, their blend actually contains Sagamore bourbon, not rye. Sagamore does not currently sell their own distilled bourbon (or any bourbon for that matter). As far as I’ve been aware, the bourbon they distill is up to this point only contract distilled for people like Evernorth, so I think the likelihood that you’ve had much bourbon sourced from Sagamore is probably not that high just yet lol, but I could totally be wrong!
    I hope this was helpful and was less, uhhhh, aggressive than maybe some other comments about the matter lol. Personally I don’t doubt that you did your research

      Hey thank you Clayton for the writeup, appreciate the info. You're absolutely right about Sagamore bourbon distillate, not a common thing by any stretch at this point. Overall, I did like the whiskey like I stated. But I do feel like it would be a big service to themselves to just type some of this stuff up in the bio about their product. From the outside looking in, it's hard to get info on exclusive stuff like this. But I definitely understand the appeal of having your whiskey be almost exclusively available to your financial supporters.

      @ Happy to help! I think I agree with you that if Evernorth grows and widens their releases and distributions (which I hope they do), they’ll have to provide info in a different way than they do now. But for how they do things right now, it mostly works out. And I also figured it would be more clear to provide info in a way that wasn’t an accusation 😂
      I’m not a common commenter but I enjoy what you do on all your channels, and your positive attitude about all things generally. We need more of that sort of thing in every circle, be it whiskey, gaming (especially Destiny) or otherwise. So cheers to ya brother!

    I got the New Riff Sherry for about 80 bucks at the distillery. Not sure where the $150 is coming from.

    I have that New Riff Sherry Finished Malted Rye and it is easily one of the best things I have had from them. The Evernorth stuff from the Bourbon Junkies is pretty solid as well.

    Great shirt!
    Here’s a dad joke to go with the dad shirt, in the theme of skull & bones:
    How much do pirates pay for their ear piercings?
    A buck an ear.
    Har, har!

    Anyone claiming Evernorth has a contender for whiskey of the year is just fanboi'ing way to hard.

    Do your homework, there are 3 NightStalkers. Which one did you review? The price is under $80. Get the bottle, it tells you the blends and the years. Shame on you. You live less than 2 hours from EverNorth.

    • @dramguard
      @dramguard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As I stated, to get the bottle and have it shipped to you will likely cost $100. Evernorth does not list prices on their website nor do they include where to find their bottles. I also stated this is batch 3. I'm sorry if this was an offense to you, but the review and thoughts I offered remain the same. Evernorth would certainly benefit from updating their website to include more details. Clicking on the NightStalker bottle profile doesn't lead anywhere on their cite and the only information they provide is that the bottle exists and it's a blend of bourbons. Perhaps it would be best if they didn't force customers to do research but instead provided the necessary information on their website and on their socials.

      @Liz_DrB 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree, you obviously disagree with me. But if you get a bottle, it is very transparent what they include. “They should provide on their website”. BS….that’s your job if you are a doing a review…The person who shared that sample could have provided more details for you

    • @dramguard
      @dramguard  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Liz_DrB Liz you clearly have very very strong feelings about this and that's okay. But I politely and respectfully and without insult disagree. I think transparency from the producer is a key part of branding and without it a producer does themselves a great disservice. Someone shouldn't have to have a bottle in their hand to know the very basic about a product. They website doesn't even distinguish any differences between the batches. To say it's barebones would be a dramatic understatement. Compare that to literally any major distiller or producer and you'll see how minimalistic that information is. If you are willing to blindly buy bottles based on who produces it, that's your freedom to do so. But I'm not so flippant with my purchases personally and prefer when the producer at least attempts to communicate to their potential customers what's in the bottle.

    • @Liz_DrB
      @Liz_DrB 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I just said, we both disagree on this issue However, I am holding you as a reviewer to know your information as much as you are saying that EverNorth should provide more details on their website….Good grief, you shouldn’t rely on samples that don’t provide you with information. A simple drive to EverNorth or a phone call would have provided you with all the information that you as a reviewer would need……AND, I don’t think any other distillers provide the detail that you are crying out that EN should do. PLEASE hold all distillers/NDP accountable

      @@Liz_DrB Ma'am it is 100% industry standard to provide more information than Evernorth provides on their website. Their write up on this bottle doesn't include proof, difference in batches, price, who distilled it, age, where to find the bottle, absolutely nothing other than "this is a blend of bourbons." Compare that to Bardstown: bardstownbourbon.com/our-products/#DISCOVERY
      Compare that to Redwood Empire: redwoodempirewhiskey.com/whiskey/devils-tower-high-rye-bourbon-whiskey/
      Compare that to even Barrel King who is very new and they still provide proofs, classifications, and batch differences: barrelking.com/releases
      Compare that to craft distillers like Starlight: starlightdistillery.com/bourbons/carl-t-hubers-small-batch-bourbon-whiskey/
      I'm not asking you to change your stance. I'm asking you to be objective. It is an undeniable and verifiable fact that Evernorth discloses next to nothing on their website. Beyond that, their bottle drops are limited and only at select online stores outside of their physical location. And so for the overwhelming majority of purchasers, this bottle will cost $100 to get their hands on it and even so they will know little to nothing about the bottle until it's in their hands. Even so, I gave the whiskey a pretty favorable score. But in my honest opinion as someone who has been tasting and reviewing whiskeys for a long time now, Evernorth has some VERY easy growth ahead of them. All they need to do is update the website to provide buyers with the key information they need to make a choice about buying or not buying a bottle.
