These movies were so iconic to the '90's goth Gen X scene. Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, and Christina Ricci were all born to play Gomez, Morticia, and Wednesday Addams.
I love this adaptation the best. The Addams Family is known for being super loving and supportive of each-other besides just their Darkness- and the actors in this did an amazing job in portraying the family dynamics. Morticia and Gomez are goals haha
The great thing many miss about the Addams Family is this, they are the ideal family. The kids are well behaved, the husband loves and treats his wife like a queen, and the wife is a excellent home maker and supports her children in their interests and backs up her husband. They are the perfect version of a loving, caring, functioning family, just their interests and proclivities are on the more morbid side of things.
The "kids are well behaved" part is a bit questionable. It works for the Addams' but Wednesday regularly tries to kill Pugsley. In the second movie, in addition to more of the same homicidal behavior from Wednesday and new homicidal behavior from Pugsley, the children are seen sawing the railing of the stairs. Seemingly fine for the Addams', but not exactly "well behaved" to others.
