The ironic thing is if Debbie was just herself. She would have fit into the Adams family. 🤓
So true xx
She was herself. A lying deceptive homicidle maniac out to murder any one who gets in her way.
Other than her love of pastels, yes.
She would've finally found people who understood her and loved her for who she was....I think that's why they buried her in the cemetery with the Addams Family name.
@@3Rayfiretoo true.. and she was still married to an Addams. Lol
Some people are saying this was Raúl Juliá’s final film, but it was his final film released while he was still alive. His actual last movie, released a few months after he passed away, was “Street Fighter,” where he played M. Bison in a scene-stealing role of a lifetime. Honestly, it’s not a great movie, but he elevates it to so-bad-it’s-good.
He was great in Street Fighter.
His over-the-top hamming up of the villain in that movie is some of the most glorious overplaying ever, and perfect for that movie. :)
And it raised the movie above its action b-movie schlock status.
@@teksnotdead902 Of course! It was Raúl.
"For you, the Day Bison graced your Village was the most important Day of your Life. But for me, it was Tuesday."
You call it a scene-stealing role of a lifetime, but for him, it was Tuesday
15:32 - Amy Fisher - the Long Island Lolita. A girl who shot her lover's wife in the head. The lady survived and Amy went to prison. She was 17. Amy then after her release came on Oprah and other talk shows and then later became a pornographic actress, a reality star, began hanging out with her ex-lover and did all kinds of stupid attention seeking stuff. Don't know what she's doing nowadays but I would think Onlyfans was something she would be into. There were 3 tv movies made about her story, one starring Drew Barrymore and another one starring Alyssa Milano.
I remember that wasn't the guy name like Joey Buttafuoco
Joey Buttafuoco ovaah heeee - yes that's him.@@CheGuevara-uf4pm
@@CheGuevara-uf4pm that's it!
And then later after prison had a sex tape, became an adult actress and became a webcam model😎
Broken down very well.
I forget that young people wouldn’t know about that.
Movies can immortalize you.
One of the best things about the Addams Family movies is that the antagonists would actually get along with the Addamses and be willing to help them with whatever financial problems they had if they had just the least bit of chill. The lawyer? He was friends with them for ages but he wanted to rip them off. A psychopath con artist? Surprised she's not a distant cousin. And Deb at the end when she's explaining all of her trauma, they completely understand and sympathize . All she had to do was chill and she would've been welcomed with open arms. She even could've kept trying to murder Fester as stress relief (dude puts arsenic on his Cheerios so good luck). But no, she had to choose...pastels.
Judith Malina played Grandmama in the first film, and she was fine in the roll, but in this film they cast the incredible comic actor Carol Kane in the roll of Grandmama and she really shined IMO...that voice, that wickedly charming grin, even under all the makeup and costume, she really gave the part some life.
Of course, she did. She's Carol Kane. And don't you love the eyes?
I loved her as the aggressive fairy ghost in Scrooged.
@@sarablack2547 And as Valerie in The Princess Bride.
@@PeteOtton of course.i wasn't going to list everything she's done.
Even with make up on her voice gives her away.jumpin jack flash was prob the first thing I saw her in.
@@sarablack2547 I had forgotten she was in that!
As someone who watched Addams Family Values in the theaters when it came out, I need to say that the scene where Gary and Becky cast the play was supposed to come off as racist - so it aged perfectly.
The scream at the poster of Michael Jackson was another pop culture reference - around the time the movie was being made/released, allegations had come out that Michael had SA'd a young boy.
I would disagree with you about your interpretation of the Michael Jackson poster. The first public accusations against MJ came out in August 1993, and the movie was released in November 1993 - given how long it takes to make movies, there's absolutely no way the timing of that works out. The poster beside the one of MJ himself is Heal the World, released in 1991 (which would fit the timing of when the movie was being made.) If you listen to the song/watch the video, it's an extremely schlocky 'love will fix the world' song, which fits in with the rest of the cutesy 'hang in there' cat poster type stuff the cabin is decorated with. Really, just go listen to the Heal the World song and you'll quickly see why such saccharin nonsense would be horrifying to Adams-type personalities.
@@SuperDrocket He's not a part of the Addam's Family. The accusations are irrelevent because people were already freaked out that MJ was having sleep overs with little boys at Neverland Ranch. The rumors were already there. Nobody took into account that he was 6 when he had an adult's career and never got to have that part of childhood. He also wanted to be a dad, so he started with babysitting.
@@xejelah Um, nobody said MJ was part of the Addam's family. I said that the song Heal the World is the sort of fake feel-good nonsense that would horrify anyone that would fit in with the Addams family, which is to say the people in that cabin, which is Wednesday, Pugsley and Joel. And no, people weren't 'freaked out' about MJ before the accusations started. He was considered rather weird, what with the rumors about sleeping in an oxygen tent and living with a chimp, but overall public opinion was pretty positive because he donated a LOT of time and money to good causes.
No, it’s because Michael jackson was seen as a positive icon at the time, it’s meant to be nice stuff they don’t like
Rumors of MJ's pedophilia were older than 1993 @@SuperDrocket
"He has my father's eyes." "Gomez, take those out of his mouth." *Best Addams Family line ever.*
Incidentally, the male counselor, Gary Granger, was played by Peter MacNicol, who made his debut in the 1981 fantasy film _Dragonslayer,_ which I highly recommend.
And played Dana's boss in Ghostbusters 2
And steals the show as Renfield in Dracula: Dead and Loving It
And he was in the first Mr. Bean movie as Bean's American handler. Actually managed to upstage Rowan Atkinson in at least one scene.
@@michaelrussell3890 Renfield, I dont care.
@@Mnemonix8001Renfield! You @$$hole!
The female camp councilor was Christine Baranski, she played Leonard's mother on "The Big Bang Theory", maybe you saw her in "Mamma Mia". Joan Cusack is always brilliant, she steals every scene in "In and Out". She's in a lot of films with her brother John Cusack such as "Grosse Pointe Blank" and "High Fidelity".
The other Thanksgiving film was "Home for the Holidays" starring Holly Hunter ("Raising Arizona") from 1995. It's very funny, Robert Downey Jr. is in it. The movie I like at Thanksgiving is "The House of Yes" a black comedy that takes place on that day.
If you get around to seeing "The Sound of Music" you MUST watch the 1998 "Goodbye Lover" starring Patricia Arquette. You'll see why.
Joan is also in Shameless. her range is impressive as hell
Christine was also in the Birdcage she was Val’s birth mother
I have to admit I wouldn't mind me some Angelica Houston😮
To this day, I still associate Christine Baranski with “Bowfinger” (“I must get my parasol…”☂️)
Just, y’know, nudging hint-hint for any future Ash reactions.
Joan Cusack is also the principal Mullins in "School of Rock"
Gomez's rant in the police station is the funniest bit in the whole movie.
The song you didn’t recognize was from Annie - you should definitely add that to your list of movies to watch- it’s a classic for a reason 😊
Crazy to me that a redhead wouldn't know it ❤😂
The ORIGINAL with Carol Burnett as Ms Hannigan, not the crap remake with Cameron Diaz
"Are you scared of Michael Jackson?" When this movie came out, Jackson was in the news as he had been accused of child molestation.
the female camp consoler was also in bird cadge, mama mia, Lenard's mom in the big bang theory, and the live action grinch she was his love interest
This was everything to me growing up. I was the weird "goth" kid so I could definitely relate to Wednesday and how people react to her. Since I'm also Native, the Thanksgiving play scene made me love the movie and Wednesday a million times more lol.
I consider the main character of this film to be Wednesday, actually. Sure, she has the B-side plot, but her scenes are the funniest and she has the real arc of being in a terrible place and overcoming it, all whilst finding love on the way. Fester is just...well, he's just an idiot, really. He doesn't learn anything, or even really do anything. Fester's arc is the worst thing about this movie IMO, the real gold is in the summer camp.
My favourite part is when Wednesday claws at the wire fence behind her when the others start singing kumbaya at her.
MALIBU BAR…BIE!!!
Joan Cusack’s best line ever! 😂
The songs playing in the cabin are from The Sound of Music (1965) and Annie (1982).
The twin babies that played Pubert Addams were girls, Ashleigh. Kaitlyn and Kristen Hooper. They were also in one episode of Home Improvement as Tim's twin nieces.
Raul Julia was always one of my favorite actors in the 80 & 90s. R.I.P. My 3 favorite Raul Julia movies are 1.)"Presumed Innocent"(1990) My favorite Courtroom movie. Harrison Ford & Raul Julia! They are amazing together as a Lawyer defending another Lawyer. 2.)"Tequila Sunrise"(1988) Mel Gibson, Kurt Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer, Raul Julia! That is one hell of a cast! 3.)"Kiss of the Spider Woman"(1985). William Hurt & Raul Julia. Amazing movie! William Hurt deserved the Oscar for Best Actor!
Moon over Pardor Richard Dreyfuss and Raul Julia 1988
:Home for the Holidays" is a great Thanksgiving movie. Directed by Jodie Foster and starring Holly Hunter, Anne Bancroft, Robert Downey Jr. and many other stars. Maybe next year.
PLEASE do Now and Then with Christina Ricci! One of my all time favorite movies and no one has reacted to it! 😢❤ It’s like a girl version of Stand by Me
I agree!! Devon Sawa getting to miss Christina again. Fingers crossed he shows up on Yellow Jackets as a love interest.
That Thanksgiving play scene was ahead of its time. What a classic.
Joan Cusak is amazing in everything she's been in. The male camp councilor was Leslie Nielson's assistant, Renfield, in Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
I spit my coffee at, "...Jingle Beans or Death December...".
The song you didn't know was Tomorrow from Annie, another film based on a comic. But more than that, the movie of Annie was directed by acclaimed director John Huston who is also the father of Angelica Huston.
Even though the movie takes place during the Summer, it was released during Thanksgiving week on 1993, and there is a play about the First Thanksgiving within the movie.
Take all that and the family oriented themes of the franchise as a whole, and The Addams Family Values becomes a great Thanksgiving movie the entire family can enjoy every year.
The Addams Family pinball machine was one of the most popular pinball machines ever produced.
One of my favorite movies as a kid, and it still is!
The Adams Family would probably be the only family to enjoy playing a with Jigsaw and Pinhead. 😂
Fun Fact: Like the baby Pubert, Charles Addams intended it to be the original name before settling for Pugsley for the TV series because the network executives said that the name sounded too suggesive.
14:43 can we just appreciate how Ashleigh moved her head to looked at the same time as the people in the movie 😂
"Watching Ashleigh's Hair Dry" is my favorite show!!
"You're only a day aaaaawwwAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!" is from Annie! It's a classic!!
A fun little tidbit, when Joan Cusack was doing her whole monologue the other actors had to stuff their mouths to stop themselves from laughing.
16:35 The song is “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie…a CLASSIC show tune!
Even better is the actress that played the original Morticia. One of my favorite black and white shows and to this day I think she’s stunning.
19:17, I can't believe that she managed to say that with a perfectly straight face.
Ok, so comment the second, some fun little things.
Camp councelor guy was Renfield in "Dracula; Dead and Loving it" and also Yanozs from Ghostbusters 2. (Vhy am I drippink viz goo?)
The 'Pastel?' remark is a deep cut to the original TV series in black and white. The entire set and all the furniture, to guarantee a proper contrast after recording in black and white was pastels.
Look up the old tv series set. :D
The cop was Nathan Lane, he was indeed the voice of Timon in The Lion King. I love him. BTW Any Fishes was a girl at 17 in a relationship with much older Joey Buttafuco. Se shot Joey's wife trying to kill her. She didn't die, but did divorce Joey. Amy later asked her for forgivness which she did not give her,
RIP Raul Julia
This was his last time playing Gomez Addams.
He played in anoter movie the next year, "Street Fighter", and then lost the battle to cancer.
Pubert was the original name that Charles Addams gave to Pugsley, but the producers of the original show wouldn't allow it
The first Addams Family Movie had to hit all the TV tropes. This one wasn't stuck with that necessity so the writers could add more to the characters. As I posted before, Christina Ricci steals this movie and the plot could have just been Wednesday at summer camp and it would be great.
Son in law with Pauley Shore is a thanksgiving movie. And it's awesome.
The Adams family movies are like going to you favourite restaurant having your favourite meal, followed by you favourite desert
I LOLed @19:15 "She is just surrounded by seamen"....I don't think she picked up on exactly what she said...LOL
Finally!!! You’ve seen a real thanksgiving film!!!
Pubert was the name almost used for Pugsley in the original 1964 TV series. I believe it's the name that Charles Addams had intended apparently as a reference to the son's general age which was usually indicated as somewhere between 10 and 13, ie puberty. But the network didn't want to use it because it sounded too sexual for 1960's television. The name was then revived for this film.
Christine Baranski was also in The Birdcage as Val's birth mother stuck on the bridge and she was in The Grinch with Jim Carrey. " The muscles...."
I suspect that you would really enjoy Grosse Point Blank - it stars John Cusack and Minnie Driver, but has a brilliant minor role performed by his sister, Joan Cusack ( who was great as Debbie in Addams Family Values ), as well as cameos by several other members of their family, including his mother - also a lunatic turn by Dan Akroyd.
Grosse Point Blank is goddamn hilarious
The camper lady was also in The Birdcage. She played Val’s bio mom.
I loved the fact they had the preppy girl come back. She was in the first movie selling girls scout cookies not made with real girl scouts. Also the cabbage patch baby girl was Hayden Paniteair from Heroes and other stuff.
22:09
"She's *BALD,* Jerry!"
16:40 It's from the movie "Annie"
The second song was Annie I believe. And yes check out Sound of Music
A fun movie sequel. It's sad that Raúl Julia passed, less than a year later. According to Anjelica, it was clear while filming the Movie, that Raul's health was deteriorating. Raul did such a great job, in the role of Gomez Addams.
Sadly this is Raul Julia's last turn as Gomez. He passed away just after it was released. I'm glad you enjoyed these movies like you did.
I still love these 2 movies of Addams Family ('90) and RIP Raul Julia, he was a great Gomez.
There are many movies and series of Addams Family but the first TV series in black and white, these 2 movies made in '90 and the recent 3D animation movies are my favourite versions w
The main camp counselor, Gary (Peter MacNicol), and Wednesday's love interest, Joel (David Krumholtz), reunited a dozen years later in a very successful television series, NUMB3RS. You've also seen MacNicol as Janosz in Ghostbusters II, and Krumholtz as Bernard the Elf in the Santa Clause.
Raul Julia (Gomez) sadly passed away only a year after this was released (1993). John Astin, who played Gomez in the original television series of the 60s, is still alive. Tim Curry also played Gomez, in an awful Made for TV movie called Addams Family Reunion.
17:45 I listen to this song every year at Thanksgiving 🤣
A good, forgotten Thanksgiving movie is Dutch from 1991. Stars Ed O'Neill from Married... with Children, and a young Ethan Embry (as Ethan Randall) .
24:08 She was In Birdcage as well - She was the biological mother of the son getting married to the senators daughter
The way they did the connection of the movies made it seem like it was just one movie or they could have been filmed they back to back
Sound of Music is actually pretty good. Julie Andrews is at peak bae and Christopher Plumber sings a sentimental song that I'm sure will trigger an ovulation.
Everybody forgets the Pauly Shore movie 'Son in Law' is a Thanksgiving movie as well.
"He wants some head, Do you know what I mean?"
Ashleigh 😅
The young geeky boy at camp is David Krumholz, he played the head elf in the Santa Claus with Tim Allen.
I love Aadams Family Values! The Thanksgiving scene is awesome. I know I'm not a member of your Patreon, but next year, you could consider watching Pieces of April. Awesome Thanksgiving movie starring Katie Holmes.
There was a show called the new addams family, one of the first episodes Wednesday mentions that they had a brother, but pugsley ate him
Watch the movie Choke. Your favorite lady is in it. 👍🏻
Joan Cusack was also the girl with the neck and back brace in Sixteen candles.
Pugsley was originally named Pubert but the powers that be thought it was too close to "puberty" and back in those days (1940's) was considered too 'risque'. Naming the new child Pubert was an homage to the original name.
The original cast from The Addams Family except for Grandma - who is played this time by Caorl Kane (a one time compatriot of Christopher LLoyd on the TV comedy series Taxi)
This movie has some of the best and most oneliners ever in a movie!! Just one of my favs!
I was looking up Thanksgiving movies to watch, and there's plenty!! Here's TEN! 1. Home for the Holidays, 2. Pieces of April, 3. What's Cooking, 4. Friendsgiving, 5. The Thanksgiving Movie (animated), 6. The Turkey Bowl, 7. Black Friday (comedy/horror), 8. Fantastic Mr. Fox, 9. The Myth of Fingerprints, and 10. Tower Heist (a heist film set on Thanksgiving)!! Two honorable mentions are Hannah and Her Sisters (there will people who don't like it because it's a Woody Allen film) and Big Night (not set on Thanksgiving, but it's about 2 brothers and this special meal they cook at their restaurant).
"She is surrounded by seamen." LOL
Thankskilling is a thanksgiving movie about an evil turkey
I love watching this movie on Thanksgiving because of the song lmao
The Sound of Music is a classic. One of the few musicals I can stand to watch.
Your face when you realize he killed the bald eagle ! LOL that was true horror!
The saddest thing about this movie is that Debbie would have fit right in with the Addams. If only she wasn't motivated by greed.
She and Morticia would have been besties.
Yes you should see The Sound of Music, it is rock candy the size of Jupiter encased in a sun size blob of very sweet molasses, surounded by a milky way size layer of artificial sweetener.
Christopher Plummer who co-stars in the movie refered to the film has "The Sound of Mucus", I disagee I call it "The Drip of Mucus."
19:18 What did you just say? I'm hearing things right? Oh shit, she did say it. Semen or seamen?
Fun factoid: The annoying white blonde girl at camp is played by Mercedes McNab, who also played the hilariously annoying and dimwitted "Harmony Kendall" on the Buffy TV show - basically her camp character as a grown up teen.
There is some cool trivia from the original TV show. The actor who played Uncle Fester in the original TV show, Jackie Coogan came to fame as a child actor working opposite to Charley Chaplin in the silent movie era. He made quite a bit of money as a child actor but his parents spent every single dime he made before he even came of age. There was not a damn thing he could do about it either.
As an adult he became a powerful advocate for child actors. He paid for a lawyer from his own money to set up a trust account for Lisa Loring and Ken Weatherwax to ensure the money they made from the show could not be touched by anyone until they came of age.
Both kids thought very highly of Jackie Coogan.
He is the namesake of the Coogan Law/Act in which 15% of a minor child performer's earnings are automatically placed in an untouchable trust until that performer reaches "of age" (18).
The male camp councilor played the law firm boss in the series 'Ally McBeal'. The female camp councilor played the law firm boss in the series 'The Good Wife'.
Son In Law with Pauly Shore is a fun Thanksgiving movie.
Ashley: "...and It turns out there's not really that many Thanksgiving movies."
Literal dozens of Hallmark Thanksgiving Movies: "Are we a joke to you (too)?!"
Female camp lady was Vals mother in birdcage xx
This is the BEST Joan Cusack has EVER looked in her LIFE. THAT BISH LOOKED 🔥🔥🔥🔥
8:22 --- Good lord... What did they make poor Thing DO ?
8:25 comment, way to jump in there.-Ernie Moore Jr.
Son in Law with Pauly Shore is also a Thanksgiving movie.
Dutch is a great Thanksgiving comedy w/Ed O'Neil
Debbie was hard. Her laugh had me dying 😂😂😂😂😂
Pubert was supposedly Pugsley's original name for the tv show, but it was considered too close to 'puberty' to pass by the censors. The baby having the name is a little injoke
The girl at the dock was the Girl Scout who was asked if the cookies were made with real Girl Scouts
15:30 serial killer trading cards, they still exist.
Have you seen Ever After? Angelica Huston plays the evil stepmother in a Cinderella story. Worth watching!
Always wondered why Debbie was taking pictures while murdering the dudes lol
Dutch (1991) is also a great Thanksgiving movie.
Home for the Holidays is likely the other film you're referring to... PLEASE watch it when you can. Soooooooo good.
