Babymetal is very cute indeed, they are a lot of the time classified as 'kawaii metal' or 'cute metal' (cute as in adorable). Kind of like Japan has wasabi Kit Kat Babymetal combines many opposites. Because you are right and Babymetal is an Idol Group or i guess an anti-Idol Group.. They are an Idol Group that does Metal. The Kami Band is a metal band. Babymetal is now widely considered a Metal band because why not? But i don't feel like that is really true. I feel like it causes people to get the wrong idea. A lot of metal fans say why are these girls stealing the show? It was their show from the start. They didn't steal anything.
In Japan press a lot of the time calls Babymetal: metal dance unit. Which is an interesting description. It would be pretty good, but it says nothing about singing, which is sort of the center piece of Babymetal.
For non-metal people, "Metal Band" can be used as some sorta generic term. For Metalheads, "Metal Band" has a more specific and almost religious meaning. So what is Babymetal? 'Gimme Chocolate' is one of their fun songs - they just want chocolate, but they are a bit worried about their weight, so wait a minute ... but it is chocolate and it would be so nice, so can they have a piece please, it will make them so happy. Some people do love it, but others it is iffy, and then some just write them off because of this song and never listen to more. I'm sure people have said this, but this video is technically the music video for the song, so it is studio track over the live performance video. This is from their Legend - 1997 Apocalypse concert in 2013 the day after the lead singer's, Su-Metal's, 16th birthday. Great job looking up some info on them beforehand. They were originally made up of Suzuka Nakamoto (aka Su-Metal, or Su) as the lead singer, Yui Mizuno (aka Yuimetal), and Moa Kikuchi (aka Moametal) as the backing vocals and dance back in 2010, as you mentioned, when Su was 12 and Yui and Moa were 11. Yui and Moa are classified as "Scream/Dance", but that is more what they get the crowd to do. They're hype-girls to get the crowd to get louder and move. You are correct, unfortunately Yui had to leave the band in October 2017 due to health issues. It was initially a year-long hiatus, but she hadn't recovered enough to come back and officially left in October 2018. You can tell Yui by her chipmunk cheeks, whereas Moa has a bit more slender face and big dimples when she smiles. No two BABYMETAL songs sound the same, so you won't go wrong looking deeper into them. A couple quick suggestions: Two great music videos of theirs are "Karate" and "Megitsune", and they literally just released a new music video for their song "BxMxC" on Thursday. However, the best BABYMETAL is live BABYMETAL. For that, I would suggest "Headbanger" live at Legend 1997 (same concert as this video), "Distortion" live at Download 2018, or "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live at Sonisphere 2014. Looking forward to more!

Yui (the one on the left) is the one who had to retire due to health reasons...her last performance with them was 3 years ago this week at the Big Fox Festival. She tried to return over the following year but wasn't able to make it back on stage. She mentioned possibly some kind of solo career or other dream but hasn't been seen or heard from in public since her retirement message to fans in late 2018. She is my favorite if you can't already tell!
@@Kurisutah If I had to bet, I would say a bad back injury. She got really stiff in her movements as her last few shows went on, then it looked like she had a back brace under her outfit for her last show. Her movements were definitely hindered and she just didn't look like she felt right. She also looked a bit puffy in the face, possibly from prednisone steroid often used to treat back injuries. I've dealt with them for 20 years, multiple surgeries so maybe I am biased....so that's my guess. Could be totally wrong.
Of course someone/they are watching you...they are watching you watching BabyMetal but don't worry - the foxgod will protect you plus they will be dancing and jamming along with you singing together with the rest of the cosmos. BTW, Great Reaction!

Since you are into the international theme how about "The Warning" ... an all girl (3 piece) heavy rock band from Mexico..... who started very young, early teens, doing a cover of Metallica called Enter Sandman. Its a great cover of a famous metal song..

Some advice about BABYMETAL reactions:
tl;dr: Don't use compilations for BABYMETAL, we have a better solution.
Please don't rely solely on videos that are on TH-cam (mainly compilations); they're not meant to be used for reactions as the mix of concerts and generally bad editing can make it confusing for those new to BABYMETAL. Also, you won't get the full BABYMETAL experience with these. Some people think they are safer for reactions, but they're not. They may get past the bot initially, but you still stand the chance of your video being blocked later and the possibility of having copyright strikes.

You should note though, that your video will almost definitely be blocked if these are included in your video and that you will need to do what we call "link & sync".
