Thank you for sharing your insight and thoughts! As a 21 year old, I know high school can feel like such a long time ago and a person can radically change in just 2 years. Really hope we can all learn from this and start talking to each other; just 1 person asking how you’ve been can change someone’s life.

Yeah, I think it’s a little strange that the parents were worried about where he went to the point that he was gone for a few hours as a 20-year-old man and they decided they needed to contact law enforcement.
And they contacted law-enforcement, and said that a gun was missing with him, and then this guy was spotted at the event as many times as he was, there’s just a lot of questions that need answers that quite honestly, even if we got them, people probably wouldn’t believe and maybe they shouldn’t

Hi new here so my son had untreated ADHD on may 22 this year he committed suicide, he did no drug use, no alcohol use, no smoking. He was just a person that loved playing video games, had friends at school, he had friends at hes job, but loved being in hes room and no socializing with people once he got inside the house, he bought a gun on may 18 and pick it up from the store may 21 and shoot him self on may 22. He left me a pin location of he’s body and told me to call the police to pick it up, I saw text message 30 min after he sent it and I rush out of work to that location to stop him but I was late and the police where already there. He did see a therapist one time and I don’t what conversation they had because she told me to wait outside but when they got out of the room she told me he didn’t need to come anymore, i didn’t question it even though I felt confused but since she was a supposedly professional and I didn’t want to judge her judgment, He did try meditation for he’s ADHD but He started getting more aggressive. I wish I would have someone to give me information about the treatment he needed. I have a son with autism and he’s 8 the pediatrician diagnosed him with autism but never told me u need to take him to see a therapist, but after him having issues at school and talking to hes pediatrician now we r on a waitlist to see a autistic therapist and get the proper diagnosis and trying my best not to make the same mistake that I did with my older son. I hope people don’t judge me but I do have a lack of knowledge when it comes to therapy help since I was raised with a family that just doesn’t really give any thought to mental health issues and also me finding out as on adult I am dyslexic and some ADHD as well kind of make sense why I didn’t understand certain things unless it was directly in my face, but I miss my son and I wish he never passed the form they give to buy a gun.

I’m so sorry for your loss🙏ADHD can be frustrating, exhausting, and constantly trying to fit in with others. I was diagnosed with ADD at age 25 in the 90’s. I still have learning differentials from my coworkers and sometimes it is difficult. Don’t bear up on yourself; unless you have the experience or information of ADHD it is just like any other mental health issue: treatment can be a tough journey. God bless you and your other son and I pray you can find the right help.❤

Wow after reading this my heart breaks for you it really does. I understand what you mean about coming from a family that never really addressed mental health. I think you did what you were supposed to do you encourage therapy and you took him... I pray you are able to find the right therapist for your younger son. It's really hard in the US you're on wait lists and then you get to someone and you're not even sure they will be a good fit but you feel obligated to stay because you don't know when you would be able to get into someone else. I've had people in my family that have done the same thing you're older son did... I can just tell you that things comw so much harder to them and unfortunately thry didn't feel like they could survive in this crazy world anymore. Obviously I know you want your son back and I would love that for you but the world we live in right now is really crazy and hard for everyone especially people that have other challenges don't allow people to judge you or if they do distance yourself from them keep your head up and take care of yourself and your sweet boy... I'm praying for you and your son ❤

So sorry for your loss and your heart and love for your children is clear. In this modern time with social media so many youth hide how they feel and act it out through video games and remote communication. You clearly tried your best and the professionals didn’t even spot it. This is why we do our channel, to help people see how important mental health intervention is and how normal it can be, so that young people can have an ear and a voice outside their home as they walk through life. Thank you so much for sharing your story🙏

@nancyrodriguez9253 I don't think you made any "mistakes"....you made judgements based on your level of knowledge and based on your perception of the therapists professional skills.
What more could you possibly do!?!?
Most people grow up with little to no knowledge of mental health issues....our society tends to ignore these things.
Even professionals have limited knowledge....I sat in a psychiatrists office and he explained to me that they know What serotonin re-uptake inhibitors do but not how they do it and how those pills can cause manic, suicidal or murderous episodes.
So you do the best with what you've got.
....we all learn as we go and WISH we knew more earlier....
Without actually having depression or some other mental health issue, it's HARD to understand.
I remember that when I was young I had friends who lost family members....I THOUGHT I had Some understanding about that but when my own father passed away, I discovered I had had NO Understanding .
I'm sure your son regrets any pain he's caused and I believe there's a good chance he's still around you.

There is little to no affordable mental health for children and young adults. In the state I just moved from, it was non-existent. Instead of getting help, many adults with mental health issues roam the streets. Something needs to be done. Our society needs to care more and find preventions and interventgion.

I love that you are having an open look at this from a mental health perspective. All of these mass shooting whether it be a school, movie theater, mall, or wherever is disturbing. And these are all fairly young adults or teens. So as parents, teachers, caregivers, we all need to figure out where this is going wrong. And how to we stop it before it reaches this level. We, as a society have to do better

It is sad to say, but its true that in some homes. Once the child reaches the age of 18yrs, the parents tend to stop giving guidance. They become a hundred percent hands- off, so most of them have no idea of what goes on with their child/children.

Same class for 8 years and she didn't really know him?? I believe the other boy that said he was bullied because he was very emotional about the subject. This girl is distanced and cold and unfeeling when she refers to him. Smh pretty obvious to me that she thought he was less than her and not worth being friends with. Not sure why you don't see this 🤷
People need to learn that this end result is what happens to some people after having been bullied for years. A person can only take so much....
If they're all so close then why didn't someone stop the bullying?? I notice that everyone is commenting that they feel bad for the other families but no one even mentions this kid who snapped. Smh it's crap

Sir, you talk too much, and for someone who is posting this type of information you should do your research. Much more current information has been posted. Her interview is great, but the guidance counselor actually kept an eye on Crooks during his last 3 years of highschool. The counselor posted a written statement about his social interaction and that he was not bullied. Maybe you should watch more news to get yourself current before posting again.
