      @@XxUKZzDabyshirexX It wasn't his fault. He is only a byproduct of society. People become what society turns them into. If you bake a pizza and it turns out shit, you don't blame the pizza, you blame yourself. In this analogy, the baker is society and the pizza is the person. In a perfect society someone like him might one day become a normal person after 30-40 years and go through rehabilitation and could possibly even live the rest of his life out of prison with parole. That is assuming that everyone in the world can be understanding and compassionate for one another. Of course, in a perfect society like that, a school shooter is not created by society, but instead they come from mental disorders and the like.

    My younger brother is Autistic and recently dropped out of high school due to emotional abuse and bullying. Our parents are divorced and it affected him greatly. His hygiene was lacking and he'd wear the same black hoody and jeans every day even in the scolding hot summer... the kids at his school would neglect him and point and laugh at the way he walks, his hygiene, and openly call him a school shooter. Since then my mother and I treat him with much love and respect. We pulled him out of school to attend an alternative learning program. He is now a completely different person. Working a normal job with friends. Can communicate with people. It's all in the support structure... who wants to walk into school knowing you're the butt of every joke. Everyone's eyes on you? And you have no control because you have asperger's... raise your children to respect others. And this stuff wont happen...

      Exactly, but most people won't admit that. People don't understand stand what abuse does to people, emotionally, mentally, and even physically. I guarantee you that if it wasn't for bullying in schools and abuse at home, 75% of these school shootings wouldn't happen, and yeah people will say the same bullshit story every single time that this person had a mental illness it was bound to happen. yeah this person might have a mental illness or some kind of emotional problem. But how many times have people who are mentally I'll or have some emotional problem become successful in life, because i guarantee you at least 90% of the time they've been guided and been emotionally cared for from people who were intelligent and loving people.

      Neglect and abuse in childhood have actually been shown to stunt brain development. When abused or neglected from a young age, a child may not develop socially or have the capacity for empathy, which explains why many killers/abusers have been abused themselves. It means they can't identify with other's emotions, and often repeat what happened to them onto others so they feel in control. Doesn't excuse what they did however, just repeating the circle of abuse.

      To a degree, I understand why he felt angry. But at the end of the day, they KNOW that killing and stealing guns and shooting up a school or whatever else they do, is wrong and not acceptable. Over time in prison some might mature and grow as a person to be batter person, but a tiger never changes its stripes. And will be taken out of maximum security, but never should they be free again. Anything could trigger them, if they can do it once... they can do it again.

    You can tell he is being 100% genuine in his recall of personal past and the traumatic event at the school. His body language and eyes are doing what they should, and his tone is real.
    He's not ''Evil'' or ''Sociopathic'', he was an emotionally naive youngster, probably psychologically damaged[ which is NO EXCUSE ] it is, however, a big contributing factor.
    He must minimize and dissociate from the crime and victims, in order to function. You don't have to show sympathy with killers or other anti-social people, but you can empathise with them, if you can't, you are no better than they. He's alive, sure, but he's also trapped inside 4 walls for the rest of his life. Having to watch over his shoulder everyday, just in case, one of the natural born predators is stalking him.
    Prison isn't fun.
    Sure, it's possible to have a laugh and relax at certain times, but not having the ability to simply sit on a toilet/shower/dress/sleep alone, hug your mum, shop for food, spend time with family, walk round a park at sunrise, go for ice cream on a blistering hot day or just sit in silence on your lawn chair at night. All the things, that we take for granted - Loosing Real Freedom...That is the punishment for crime..anything extra is revenge from misplaced social morals, not justice. You can't punish, warehouse and rehabilitate, simultaneously.

      I disagree. He has no remorse& has no feeling just flat. That's the typical behavior of a psychopath. Lots of people have very difficult lives who are abused horribly & do not hurt or kill others. He's a psychopath. I was bullied too & have mental health issues from being abused but I didn't kill people over it. I'm also not a psychopath.

That's typical of a sociopath. I think they r born w/ a violent uncaring gene that makes them a Sociopath. They've done studies.

      Sociopathy is developed after birth. Psychopaths are born with the mental illness and there's a high chance that you have met hundreds of psychopaths and sociopaths. These mental disorders only cause a person to lack empathy, but not logic. They understand that murder is a horrible event, even if they are unable to place themselves in the victim's shoes and understand what others are feeling.

But instead his solution he came up with was shooting little kids and adults with shotguns. So why are you taking up for him? He could’ve prevented it himself!! I been bullied my life for years and I never thought about killing people. You prevent things like this from happening by standing up for yourself. Not by hoping the bully sooner or later apologizes then if he doesn’t shoot him with a shotgun. The fuck?

      Violent video games started in arcades in the 80's and game play has only become more immersive and realistic every year. Violent movies have been around for decades and have only gotten more graphic and intense. Many, many, many young boys are playing COD and other violent Fps for hours upon hours every day. The Columbine boys referred to their plan to destroy the school as NBK, their favorite movie. When I was young, I remember vividly coming out of a theater having seen an action/violent movie and my heart beating rapidly, my mind was racing, and I looked around for anything to act out the adrenaline that was pumping. It isn't just adrenaline that is released, endorphins and other chemicals and hormones are acting on the body while watching and playing violent games/movies. After a while, it is like any other addiction in that a little dose doesn't satiate any longer. Video games and violent movies are an ingredient to the killers. Another ingredient is bullying and ostracism that is so rampant in our schools. Another ingredient is violent music. And still further is the gun as an ingredient. None of these ingredients are in themselves responsible for creating a murderer. The human mind is a complex organ and there are never any definites, only tendencies. Put any or all of these ingredients into the mind of an already neglected, abused person, especially one on psycho-active medications and the results can be devastating. There is a reason militaries seek out young men. They can be influenced to kill.

But we're all human, we all make mistakes and everybody deserves a second chance. Was what he did wrong? Yes. Do I think he deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life? No. Do I think he deserves a second chance? Of course! I believe he deserves a second chance and should get the help he needs. Of course, one persons opinion won't change anything. He obviously regrets what he did and he is definitely learning from his mistakes. God bless him.

This shit is crazy. Man. I dont like what he did at all. But he was dealt a truly shit hand in life. But man you know for how much those principals and teachers talk about anti bullying and to speak up, they dont give a shit when you finally do. Happened to me many times. Our school claims to have a zero tolerance policy on bullying but I quickly learned it was all a facade when I did report it and I was told "suck it up. Nothing we can do." Like damn. They get you feeling like you actually have a chance. And then they make you feel hopeless.

      Yes it is very sad when children are abused and no help is given, instead the child is bullied and treated unfairly, and society expects the abused, forgotten and bullied to grow up and be a civilized member of society. It is still very tragic what happened to the ones who are no longer with us due to this young mans violent actions. This could of been avoided if parents were decent and loved their children and that help is given when needed...Totally believe in population control, you must prove that you can mentally, emotionally, and financially as well to be able to take care of basics, shelter, food, medical as well as education , clothing, activities, fun and lots of love. as be able to love your child in order to have one, we would not have any violence in the world if this was done world wide.

    In the late 70s I was bullied severely by classmates, I am a female. It became physical as well as emotional and verbal. I never thought about using a gun. Good thing my mom kept hers out of sight. I guess the old saying “out of sight, out of mind” is true. I did however find myself drifting and day dreaming a lot about hurting them. Getting my “revenge” so they could feel what I felt. I even wanted to learn a martial art so I could just miraculously walk in one day and the beating would begin and I’d walk away with all of them lying on the ground defeat like a Chuck Norris movie.
    No has the right to take any one’s life. At the same time, no one has the right to take someone’s confidence and humiliate, embarrass and break them mentally for sport either.
    Years later as an adult I returned to that town and saw my 2 of the bullies by chance who were cheerleaders at the time.
    When God says “vengeance is mine” believe him. I walked away blissfully content. The two prettiest and most popular girls in the school souls finally shown through to their exterior.
    They were vile looking physically just as their personalities were back then.
    I am now in my mid 50s. If I could say one thing to people who bully others in todays world, I think it would be to tell them no laugh or joke is worth your own life.

    I know this is going to sound bad but it is a bias that I have and I am willing to admit it. This right here is the reason why I think men have a hard time emotionally developing, this is why I think men are extremely sensitive and extremely emotional far more than women. It's usually stated the opposite way but this is a prime example this myth that is not accurate.

    • @Ryan-ni7mo
      @Ryan-ni7mo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Well men are statistically more aggressive so I'd imagine that is why.
      More aggression is the reason that 99% of people in prison for violent crimes are male.
      And male aggression is also why men commit suicide more often than woman, yet woman attempt suicide more often.

    • @geraldsmith9697
      @geraldsmith9697 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think that's a fairly whack opinion, humans are emotional regardless of gender, there is no comparison of who is more or less on a scale as this will vary with each individual. the only real factor is how we deal with our emotions. women will release their emotions more freely and men will suppress their emotions and the problem with that is that if it all gets too much it will only go two ways...Murder or Suicide.

    • @Ryan-ni7mo
      @Ryan-ni7mo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @Gerald Smith
      Well there is psychological studies that show that men and woman are different temperamentally . Hormones are the biggest reason for this but there are others.
      It would be more accurate to claim that there is no difference in emotional level between men and women, but there is a difference in what those emotions are. Men and Women are more similar than they are different, but the differences still have an impact on emotion.
      Just two examples are: men are more disagreeable than woman. Women have a higher degree of neuroticism than men. (Of course you will find individual cases that differ from these, but this is what studies have found to be the case over large sample sizes.)
      I mean like you said, men tend to suppress their emotions more often than women. Why? Well being disagreeable is certainly a factor in that

      Titanic the greatest ice bucket challenge If you get a life sentence you can appeal for parole after a certain amount of time. If you get, like it was here 198 years, and you try to appeal for parole, they’ll tell you they take 50 years off your sentence and then they’ll consider it when it comes up again. It’s really just another way of saying, “Life with not chance of parole.”

      If you are injured in prison they have to patch you up, so let's say you get a heart attack or whatever and you're dead momentarily, they hit you with the defibrillators and bring you back. Boom you just served life and you get released there was a case like that i remember reading about for one of my classes

    • @bubblewrap7357
      @bubblewrap7357 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They do that cause sometimes people will start with 100 years (obviously as long as a life sentence) and then they will fight it and it will decrease over time to 50-60 years instead.. Your right about it not making sense, I think they do it that way so if the person goes back to court or the case is reopened they can more easily understand how many years they are given and have served rather than just the blanket term as “life” in prison.

      This snitching stuff is a load of nonsense. Yes don't tell on people for petty crimes such as stealing or something but murder is a bit different. If someone you knew died from being murdered you're telling me you wouldn't want something done about it because they are labeled snitches. Just shows what's really wrong with this world. If I knew someone who murdered someone I would call the police straight away. No need for people like that in society.

    I wish more people realised people who commit crimes, any crime from serial killing to simple nonviolent theft have a reason for doing such, whether that be poverty or whether that be a bad up bringing or whether that be a mental illness. All people who commit crimes need help. If society just has a better way to help these people before they commit crimes, crime stats will decrease by a large margin. I just wish these people could have gotten help long before any lives were lost. It's a tragedy because everyone suffered here, it's a lose/lose/lose, the victims suffered, the society/bystanders suffered and the murderer suffered.

I do suffer from mental issues bc of my situation but my upbringing has not led me to kill, harm or even think about that. Most ppl like you said do have a reason behind their actions but you can't blame their childhood it's what they took from it & made of it where it's landed them now

    • @hokeypokeypanda

      It's essentially due to a dysfunctional/underactive amygdala that controls emotions/empathy in the brain. Some people are born with overactive - the anxiety/indecisive/people pleasing kind and some are born with underactive where they just can't empathise to the full extent of others and seem to be more self-involved. Neither are these particular good, but they're not wrong either. We can't choose what genes we get when we're born. Environmental triggers are just the ones that can push people to extremes and cause the disorders/dysregulation.

    I feel for this kid.. Another child that the system failed, and this is the most extreme result.. He’s genuinely remorseful, saying he stopped filing appeals because he felt guilty and it would be cheating the victims their justice they’re due and deserve.. Such a sad story😢

    I feel bad for him. If he was around better people none of this would have happened. It’s unfortunate that people have to go through situations like this. It really breaks people.

      @@OKG2000 you’re the type of person who creates more murderers with your attitude. Good job
