    Couldn’t agree more.
Thank you for the video Pete.

Maybe Robbie could pull a few strings for you at Foundation. I would love to see you fill a more…..ah……seasoned demographic space over there. You have a charismatic teaching form that would benefit both you and foundation….in my opinion. I can tell you are a person that might embrace the idea of someone being their own best advocate. I have no doubt that you are very good at selling yourself. Maybe….a little networking with an old friend (Robbie)?
      Okay…I’ll butt out now.

Funny, I just finished texting with Robbie about his new contract. I really appreciate Robbie and Foundation guys and we have similar values... so who knows what could happen in the future, but they are way ahead of me in the TH-cam game at this point. :D

The disc marketing departments typically don't agree with the less-is-more mindset. We all know what you are saying is true.. 10-12 Discs is more than enough for just about any course. Granted the 10-12 discs may change from course to course, but 20-25 discs is probably all that serious player really need to play ANY course. And maybe a few backups of the key discs you use. Thanks Pete and Happy New Year. Looking forward to a great year of Disc Golf.

Oh I totally agree and even as I say that I also know that I will be buying discs till the day I die because let's face it it's fun to buy discs... but I am not relying on them to change my game. I know a lot of people that live and die by having the exact right disc for the exact right shot and I just don't think that's the best way to play the game. But I know you're agreeing with me and I don't think disc manufacturers have a lot to worry about :-) Thanks and Happy 2025 to you!

Started this game at 67 . I carry disc from a 9 speed to a 5 speed plus 3 putters . That is it for warm weather . Than I have my snow set up with 30 inches of survey tape duck taped to bottom in same speeds. Have a great New Year of Disc golf .

That is great! Believe it or not I am just learning about adding tape to the bottom of the disc for winter play seeing as how I am down south and have never had to deal with snow. I love hearing from more mature players getting into the game! Thanks so much for taking time to comment

I bought one of those iPhone PolarPro filmaker kits. Pretty cool but I do more photography. I heard that the Beast Rigs and Small Rigs are awesome for video, maybe you can try one of those to get the best of both worlds!

thanks, I have plenty of gear... too much actually. I was trying to make a metaphor about how we focus so much on gear over skill and practice. I guess I was a little to vague... story of my life. Thanks for watching!

@ yep I got the metaphor and completely agree! Sometimes I swap out all the discs in my bag for like 5 Mako3's and just work with what I got. It's very mind freeing not thinking about disc selection!
I end up thinking about what color Mako I want to throw 😂

Right! Don't get me started on the aesthetic conundrum on top of the flight numbers! :D Thanks so much!

Honestly, I need a camera man for the drone, gopro and Canon main camera lol. A full round of filming takes like 5hrs 😮‍💨

Along the same lines.. Everyone seems to confuse "Throwing 400" (and further) as being the big 'gear up' to their game...
    I'm 56..
I'm more or less 850 rated (I've had a couple of 900+ rounds)...
I can throw 330ft (100m) at best but usually barely get 300.
I play for the game.. I'm not out to be #1, I'm not out to make mega $ (in fact I don't expect to win anything but maybe hold a trophy for a few weeks on a local)
Instead.. I just like to play my worst shots... and my (sometimes amazing even myself) scramble game is actually very good...
to the point where I have beaten a 950 rated 400+er a couple of times and gone 10 over on my local 10 hole a couple of times...
    so yeah, reliably unreliable...
But I don't have to spend hours trying to get that front foot ankle angle to the exact position to gain another 10ft.... because what will it achieve... I'm already somewhere above middle of the road... I can play with the big boys and not look hideously inept... I can play with a complete noob... and as long as my incessant talking and desire to teach is ok with them, I can enjoy that as much as any game I've had.. (Just yesterday I played with a dad and 6?yo son... gave them a few tips on how to throw a disc that flies sorta flat... and we all enjoyed it... Hey they thought 300ft was amazing.. and that kid was sinking 10+ft putts that took me more than a year to get (inconsistently)...
I guess where I'm going with this is... Where do you actually want to be with Disc Golf.. If you just want to play it well, forget long distance.. Slow down. Get your upshots and putts good... and go play with your mates...
Sometimes a game should stay as that...
A friend once said to me, be wary of doing what you really like as a job as it may turn into a job instead of something you like.

You nailed it right on the head my friend. I've always told folks don't ever turn your passion into a job unless you want to lose the passion for that thing. Now there are a few rare instances where the job becomes a joy but for most of us as soon as we start making it something we have to do instead of something you want to do we lose a lot of the joy in it. Thank you my friend
