I own this projector with an ALR screen and I love it. Many people have came over to watch a game in day light and didn't even notice it wasn't a TV until I told them it was a projector. My projector is hidden by a small stage like structure I built so no one sees it just my xbox and speakers.
I was wondering, can you connect 2 of these together and display the same image? I want to put 1 on each end of the room but still watch the same movie
Man I haven’t watched you in a while but you really got this presentation thing down. No annoying voice like some other tech presenters, no information we don’t need. I’m confused as to how you’re only at 60k subs (not that that isn’t a feat in an of itself!).
Questions! 1. How's the clarity? Like if you look up close, is everything 4k tack sharp? 2. How's the brightness when the room isn't dark? 3. If money was no object, would you get this or a 100" traditional LED 4K TV?
1. Tough to say because of the texture on my wall. Need a proper screen to make that call. ... 2. Definitely not like a TV. ... 3. Traditional. But at what price?
When the camera brought the Vava in the picture with the downwards motion I thought at first you were just showing of your really really fancy wash-basin!
Excellent, I like the fact that you concentrated on things that really matter in the real world. Very much my type of review. I hate it when people complain about the built-in OS/apps. WHO CARES? Chromecast/Roku/FireTV/Flex/etc... from free to a few bucks and you get what you want. Complaint about center channel placement is valid - that's probably the only reason I haven't bought a UST at this point... however, considering this sucker for my bedroom, so I don't have to mount an unsightly 85" TV on the wall. Don't need an insane HT speaker setup there either. Anywhom, great review, my only concern is the sound you mentioned. I wish you had some measurements of the noise and also mentioned which light level you use it in. Typically 'eco' modes are inaudible, but full brightness modes tend to make some noise. That might bother me in a bedroom... thoughts? THANKS! :D
The sound was mostly a non-issue when I was using my usual soundbar-rear-sub setup. I mean, you can hear the fan when things are quiet, so it needs to be mentioned But for normal viewing it wasn't that big a deal.
Just OK. ... They hid some settings that otherwise keep you limited to 4K @ 30Hz, which was ... weird. If I were a serious gamer I wouldn't be using a projector. ... But it's definitely fun for the kids at this size.
I have the uptoma UHD60 @3000 lumens and a 120" screen, and I love it and have been using it for more than 2 and a half years! But truth be told, picture becomes washed out in regular lighting conditions and a sliver of daylight from behind a curtain could effect the watching experience. Not to mention the pain of properly mounting a projector that heavy (and my mount is no longer straight and needs to be replaced due to holding 16 pounds for all these years). My question is: How would the Vava compare to a UHD60 in terms of brightness? If bright enough, I would consider selling my UHD60 and getting the Vava for the convenience of not having to worry about mounting or cables dangling and the ability to hide them behind a TV table or furniture. People that don't mind mounting a projector and can control lighting conditions properly, the UHD60 is a steel at $1688 on Amazon right now.
Unless you really need the ultra short throw, why not get something like the Epson 5030UB on a refurb sale directly from the OEM for like $1300? It’s not true 4K but it’s still an amazing picture will full warranty from Epson. I currently have the LG OLED 65C8, after having the Epson 8500UB. While I love the epic contrast of the OLED, it’s tough to compete with a screen almost 4x the size. Right now though,I wanted to see what the arguably best picture tech looked like. If my room works for it, next time, I’ll probably go back to projector.
@@Moderndad yeah, that makes sense. We moved last year so the projector setup doesn't work for me as well now, but you're right an ultra short throw would. I'm assuming it doesn't have lens shift? Even though I probably wouldn't notice it much, it bothers me to do digit/keystone correction since I think technically you are just sacrificing resolution to correct it (for lack of a better description)
ok i give up... you make a comment early on about why you won't be owning one any time soon and never ever give the reason why !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dah !!

These projector have a very high return rate. So high, Amazon stopped selling them. BidRL site sells products returned from Amazon and other manufacturers/companies, and these are on there all the time as returned products. I would stay away from this manufacture.
I wonder how it compete against the JVC DLA-N7BE
10:40 - The vpl-vz1000es is really old, no?

i would love to see your advice now. What should i do ? screen or ALR paint and flat wall?

This might be a dumb question, but can it be mounted upside down? i.e invert the picture so I can screw it up to my ceiling?
Nice video. You should probably crank up the heat in your room a few degrees before you shoot another though @7:23
I think he is just really excited about this 🤣
Solid review - great job! 💪🏼
Will it work with the new Sonos arc? I think you mentioned ARC? Does it have an optical audio output maybe?
what is the actual throw distance to make a 120" image?

I have Vava 4k with DIY gray screen. Amazing projector.
How did you make the screen? I just bought one but don't want to spend $900 on a clr grey screen
@@joseiglesias123 simple mix Platinum gray. Metallic Platinum gray and polycrylic. 4 part satin paint , 1 part Metallic and 1 part of the polycrylic.

A good quality ALR Screen will help you :) ,like our XYScreen PET Crystal ALR Screen for UST projector .
I like the Ghost plug 👌
... and the copyright claim came very quickly. ... But worth it. :)
Hello very good afternoon l have a question VaVa can reproduce Dolby vision and Dolby atmos connected to a Sony Ubp-x1100es?
Ace video! Love the story! Keep up the good work!
i guess it is quite randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to stream new tv shows online ?

The darker the room, the better. But that's true for most projectors, right?
@@Moderndad Absolutely, and it is a trade-off that has been very much worth it with a large screen or wall real estate :-)
Excellent review, thank you.
Thanks!
I know the brand and even in the mud to low budget range, they have great devices.
Nice review man
I was pretty impressed, yeah.
Great review - thanks!
You didn't convince me 🙂,

Ultra Short Throw is what really turned me on about this ... Mounting on the other side of the room would be a PITA in my setup.

It was on loan. ... I don't have it anymore.

Was worth the demonetization. :)

$2800 projector for common folks.. yeah i dont think so, common folk is the 55-65 inch $400-$1000 led maybe Qled tv...
Awesome video! Do you notice you say "Right" a lot xD
Why do you have a TH-cam channel?
Do not buy VAVA, mines lasted for 3 years and all of a sudden shit the bed and customer service basically told me to buy a new one
I like this video before it starts because I know I will love this video evwn if I can't afford this product.
