    Thanks Doug and Monique! Your videos are always so positive! Thanks for all the excellent suggestions. You've given us some great ideas to think about and take action on. In fact, we are already embracing one of them which is to Celebrate Milestones. To celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary next month we are spending 3 weeks touring Iceland. Cheers!

    I also believe to be mentally healthy in the second half of life, one has to be hopeful and plan for the future. Purposely planning to do nothing in retirement will more than likely shorten your "Second Half of Life".

    Love your videos and the fact you are living your second half of life to it’s fullest. One small tidbit about Rich Dad Poor Dad he is $1.2 billion in debt. If you read about him he has no remorse using other people’s money and has no desire to pay it back.

      If I wasn't frugal all my working life, I wouldn't have been able to put my 2 kids through college w/out a loan. I am glad that they are on a firm footing financially. I try to teach them to be frugal as I was, but hard to convince the new gen to be like you. Some times its tough to reason with them when they splurge the money on things. Atleast, I have enough now in retirement to freely spend on travels to Europe without thinking twice. with regard to business / First class travel even though i could afford, my conscience does doesn't allow me to to throw that extra thousands for a few hours of leg stretching and would spend that on creature comforts, nicer places to stay etc. I guess the value for money drives that notion. Great video and advice.

    If you are helping your kids in their 20s, you will continue helping them in their 30s, 40s and when you are gone, they suddenly realize that they just cannot pick the phone to call you for more. Don't be cheap to yourself.

    • @Track_Us_Down
      @Track_Us_Down  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Hello Boris, We all need help starting out in our 20s, especially these days. If an adult child is working, doing everything they can, being a responsible contributing member of society - then helping them is the right things to do. It’s a misconception that helping ( financially or otherwise) leads to dependency. It leads to a feeling of safety and security that enables an adult child to feel connected and supported and hopefully one day generous with others. They are going to inherit all the money in the end. You either give it with a warm hand or a cold heart . It’s different if they are relying on money from a parent and acting in an irresponsible way. That’s a much trickier situation. Thanks for watching. Cheers! M&D

      @@Track_Us_Down You are a child in your teens. In your 20s, you are either an adult or still a child. Not both. True, your child will be always a child to you whether she or he in her/is 20s or 40s.
      In your 20s you were better than you are now. You may lack sophistication dealing with people, your testosterone is running way high, etc, …but other than that you’re way better. When your children in their 20s they need to try as many things as they can to find what they are really good at to make a living. Otherwise you will have, one day, your over 40 year old kid moving backing with you because he cannot make it on his own. Yes, the kids will inherit at the end. Unfortunately. But you don’t want your kids fighting over it as soon as you are gone …because they are unable to make it on their own and already are dependent on what they stand to inherit.

    Right, I had enough of Windows 10, and thought to switch to Apple. But HP had a very nice offer. So I had to learn W11 with then 70 years. One month went by on May 23. The machine is Portuguese 🤣😂. Happy end!. Well, well, I have to say that I wrote my first computing program in 1972. This machine is so fast (SSD) that I took it for 7 months to Argentina and Uruguay, where all the power outlets are different. Nice, big challenge. I think I’m in the third half of life 😂😄
