Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
The strategies are quite rigorous for the regular. They are mostly successfully carried out by pros who have had a great deal of skills/knowledge to pull such trades off.

In such circumstances, I would always advise hiring a professional to help you through choppy markets and only give you indicators and strategies for figuring out when to enter and exit the market.

Joined the Navy at 18 with 7k in the bank. I did janitorial and smoked a lot of pot in high school. Left the Navy after months with 40k in the bank. Invested 30k in the S&P stocks. Started working at UPS, Exide Battery and did concrete on Saturdays. Invested 1k a month every month into it with my Financial advisor Susan Kay Mack, Cashed out 350k from the S&P Cashed out and Semi retired at 31. Took a year off. Traveled. Came home and started working part time just for the insurance, entertainment and pocket change and still investing in stocks with a 3 million net worth, Work isn't work when you don't have to work. Becoming wealthy can be done in few years. It feels like 60hr work weeks. Feel the pain of discipline early or feel the pain of regret later. I wish everyone well!

I love Amon and Christina, they're a source of inspiration. My wife and I have been in the s&p500, both through my TSP and through Fidelity in her 401k. Until around 3 years ago we were 100% in the s&p for over 15 years. Cashed in $350k from the s&p and invested with a full service advisor. We currently have $2.3million in out tax deferred savings. Highly diversified portfolio, mind blowing earnings and little to no engagement at all on my part. My aggressive portfolio returned almost $200k in Q2.

These two have a great TH-cam channel and the perfect attitude to make this work. I am a Financial Advisor and I am always skeptical of people who try to retire super early. But this couple has the right attitude, are willing to make sacrifices and are very cleaver in how they manage/grow their money. They actually have a great chance of hitting their goals
What a heart warming episode! This is truly a love story masquerading as a FIRE story. As a self made millionaire myself, I made a heartfelt reaction video to this. I feel this is the wealth that I would want rather than having a billion dollars. Spending time with family, no worries about retirement and being young enough to enjoy traveling and other experiences.
Agreed, I think it's important to know how much you need and understand your numbers well instead of just always wanting more. Then you get to actually enjoy the freedom you've created for yourself!

I never miss their uploads. I am 45 years old single mother living, I am hoping to retire at 50 if things keep going well for me. Bought my fifth house last month and I can't be proud more that I am right now. I am so glad I made good decisions about my finances that changed me forever now I earn monthly.

98k+70k= 168k isn't bad dude especially In the early 2000's .see iam in no. Way saying that they didn't hard-work but . They said you don't need a 6 figure salary to reach fire but in this case does seem you need especially where they Lived California ain't cheap
@@bloodwargaming3662 Christian wasn't working for the most part. She was even going to law school for part of their FIRE journey. And amon didn't make $98k consistently each year.
"Our employer, when we lived in Spain and Japan, paid our housing cost." 70K and 98K salaries. Fully paid health care insurance. Of course, they made the right moves, but things like that help, a LOT.
@Dodd Frank Yep, I almost turned this off as soon as I heard "Working for the government." In a community where I used to live, near a lot of Federal Govt. and military facilities about half of the people there had retired in their 50s, and ALL of the people who retired in their 50s were govt. employees. The other people in the same community were private sector and were doing well, but practically none had plans to retire before their mid 60s.
Success doesn't happen overnight. It's a marathon, not a sprint. You have to pace yourself, put in the work, and be consistent day in and day out if you want to achieve your goals.

They were my entry to the FIRE path. They were my inspiration 3 years back. I lost my way for sometime but again, they were the ones to bring me back to the path to FIRE. While I probably wont retire early coz I love my work and my colleagues and the company treats us quite well, I am more than halfway through to FIRE because of Amon and Christina. It was awesome to see you on CNBC Make It. I've been following you for many years. Your videos are always inspirational! I've been semi-retired for the past 10 years and can't wait to be fully retired. I didn't focus on retirement when I was younger and wish I had made that a priority sooner. I always loved the businesses I created, so it never felt like work. But now that I'm older I don't want to waste any more time on things that aren't truly important to me.
I envy you guys hehe, it's much simpler for you and other top-tier investors to overcome market difficulties and make millions in a short period of time; I'd really like additional tips and tactics for generating enormous profits in the near term.
Thank you two for being an amazing example and achieving FIRE. The cliche is that “youth is wasted on the young” but you certainly squashed this with discipline, a vision, and a great attitude. I really liked this episode! This family pursues a great goal - to spend time together with their children as much as possible. It took them some time and lots of effort but that was worth it. I personally reckon they’re a great example for all of us! I totally share their values. Work is not the thing people were created to give it all the time and energy. But the question is HOW to work less? It’s obvious that the less you spend the less you must work to make money. The fact is, an obsession with possessions distracts us from the very things that matter most in life-the things that money cannot buy. Children suffer when their parents don’t spend enough time with them. They don’t feel they are loved. That can even have long-term negative effects on their adult life. On the contrary, how much better it is when all family members just have meals together, have fun and communicate. Money cannot buy family happiness and unity. That only comes from spending time with your family and giving them adequate love and attention. I couldn’t agree more with this saying from the Bible: «Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate» - Proverbs 15:17. I like how he says that they wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them working together. I am by myself and I constantly feel like I just need a companion to make it happen, what I do alone is okay but not full force because it is just a little too much to handle on my own.
Of course they worked hard and deserve it all, but let's not forget they bought many homes in the early 2000s in the bay area before the tech boom. Nobody making 90k/70k a year living in the bay area are buying multiple homes today.
Especially if some of those homes were bought around the 2008/2009 crash... They likely had some liquidity from previous sells (where they took advantage of the growing tech industry) and managed to really cash out selling and renting those homes out later.
@@korhonenemilia1816 Yeah exactly. There is noway anyone today in that salary range could ever do what they did. But kudos to them. Right place, right time.
@@rikachiu Yeah. The fact that they got lucky doesn't take away from all the hard work they put in before. Had they not saved up enough for those homes, they couldn't have taken advantage of the circumstances.
This is almost exactly what my parents did, who also retired in their 40s. The main difference is my folks bought, renovated and sold while we lived in those homes one at a time and they invested after their first sale.

I feel this is the wealth that I would want rather than having a billion dollars. Spending time with family, no worries about retirement and being young enough to enjoy traveling and other experiences.
Agreed, I think it's important to know how much you need and understand your numbers well instead of just always wanting more. Then you get to actually enjoy the freedom you've created for yourself!

How do you just move there? How does the visa thing work? Do they give you some kind of residence visa based on investment like buying a house? Would like to know how it works.
Stay out of the cities, go small coastal towns or completely rural, portugal´s big cities are horrible.

@Dodd Frank Yep, I almost turned this off as soon as I heard "Working for the government." In a community where I used to live, near a lot of Federal Govt. and military facilities about half of the people there had retired in their 50s, and ALL of the people who retired in their 50s were govt. employees. The other people in the same community were private sector and were doing well, but practically none had plans to retire before their mid 60s.

They were my entry to the FIRE path. They were my inspiration 3 years back. I lost my way for sometime but again, they were the ones to bring me back to the path to FIRE. While I probably wont retire early coz I love my work and my colleagues and the company treats us quite well, I am more than halfway through to FIRE because of Amon and Christina. I've been semi-retired for the past 10 years and can't wait to be fully retired. I didn't focus on retirement when I was younger and wish I had made that a priority sooner. I always loved the businesses I created, so it never felt like work. But now that I'm older I don't want to waste any more time on things that aren't truly important to me.

I really liked this episode! This family pursues a great goal - to spend time together with their children as much as possible. It took them some time and lots of effort but that was worth it. I personally reckon they’re a great example for all of us!
I totally share their values. Work is not the thing people were created to give it all the time and energy. But the question is HOW to work less? It’s obvious that the less you spend the less you must work to make money. The fact is, an obsession with possessions distracts us from the very things that matter most in life-the things that money cannot buy. Children suffer when their parents don’t spend enough time with them. They don’t feel they are loved. That can even have long-term negative effects on their adult life. On the contrary, how much better it is when all family members just have meals together, have fun and communicate.
Money cannot buy family happiness and unity. That only comes from spending time with your family and giving them adequate love and attention. I couldn’t agree more with this saying from the Bible:
«Better to eat vegetables with people you love than to eat the finest meat where there is hate» - Proverbs 15:17. I find lots of practical advice from this wise timeless book. Of course they worked hard and deserve it all, but let's not forget they bought many homes in the early 2000s in the bay area before the tech boom. Nobody making 90k/70k a year living in the bay area are buying multiple homes today.
I have same question. The salary level is quite good but is it possible to buy 6 houses in the bay area?
Especially if some of those homes were bought around the 2008/2009 crash... They likely had some liquidity from previous sells (where they took advantage of the growing tech industry) and managed to really cash out selling and renting those homes out later.
@@korhonenemilia1816 Yeah exactly. There is noway anyone today in that salary range could ever do what they did. But kudos to them. Right place, right time.
@@rikachiu Yeah. The fact that they got lucky doesn't take away from all the hard work they put in before. Had they not saved up enough for those homes, they couldn't have taken advantage of the circumstances.

This is almost exactly what my parents did, who also retired in their 40s. The main difference is my folks bought, renovated and sold while we lived in those homes one at a time and they invested after their first sale.
Great story. They worked hard. It is so hard to reach this goal with kids, but they have done well!

In that time we have become debt-free except for our mortgage and we hope to get to a place as well where we can retire early. A really wonderful, and educating insight into your lives there. I been actively following your page for some time now, and I am really glad that I came in here. Financial freedom isn't really rocket science, as everyone can get there, and I hope everyone reading this gets to their desired target.
