I’d have to agree. My personal preference is actually for well edited, serious content with some funny remarks. But if I’m going to have to skip a three minute rant about an airport in the video anyway then yeah let’s bring back twitch chat. At least then it’s funnier when I am in the mood, and I can just skip forward when I’m not.

This is an excellent video, I think my favourite part of guess the elo is reacting to a game in real time. It doesn't need to be live, though roasting chat is wonderful.
Watching Levy's soul deflate when a low-ELO player destroys his/her own position is the best part of this series.

I don't know how for others but for me GTE on live stream with live chat feels more alive as those extra jokes and punchlines you make while recording live are making this format more interesting + chat guesses are also interesting to see.

I can see that Levy thinks no one plays spanish below 1500. For me that's the first and only opening i ever learnt in chess until i reached 1500 elo when I started exploring more by myself.

I like how Levy changes the level of his commentary depending on the level of chess the people are playing at. Like at 400 it's just 'don't blunder your rook' and 'you have mate in 1' and at 2000 he starts making comments about structures and piece maneuverability and stuff like that.

Love the videos, used to be in the chess club back in highschool but havent played in nearly 6 years, your channel inspired me to start playing again and im slowly climbing the ranks. Currently only at 800 elo but i can somewhat consistently beat the 1200 bot. Hoping some day ill be able to play you and watch you tear apart my strategy

9:31 to answer your question Levy yeah there is kind of a beef, mainly because even tho we brazilians didnt "create" the portuguese language, we are much greater in number than the people from portugal, so we sorta became the main portuguese speaking country, and they usually dont like that lol
Yeah, it's frustrating for me as a Canadian with a European Portuguese background to not have access to apps like duolongo or babbel to try and learn my language because they dont teach it. They only teach Brazilian Portuguese
@@Lere it does sound unfortunate in this case, but Im sure itd still help learning the language either way, and then you could consume portuguese content to be able to differentiate
@@Lere Yeah, looking at that point of view, it probably sucks. PT-PT and PT-BR are different enough that at least those big apps should absolutely have both even if I understand smaller media only having one as it's still intelligible

I really did get to 1200 without learning any openings. But I just lost 9 out of my last 10 games, so....
From his name I assume he is brazillian and he is the portuguese language community manager. Yes there is a beef between PT-PT and PT-BR for this specific reason. Since there are a lot more brazilians than any other portuguese speakers pretty much every portuguese localisation is in PT-BR, which one might argue is INCORRECT portuguese (#notbiased). It's a bit like the english and "american" except the portuguese have barely any international representation so most companies don't bother to make us happy. 😢
