Honestly I appreciate that you say you’ll be my drinking buddy. I’m doing some tasting blinds and love to watch reviews so I can see what others think. Lobe your content and you truely feel like a buddy.
I was being stuborn and didnt include the LB8 because it is mostly rye. But mostly rye, is basically still a rye lol. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
@@robertbugh1798 Thx for the info... too bad you just can't find a bottle of this anywhere in the NorthEast.. and prices seem to have jumped to over $120 a bottle now. How to find these things BEFORE everyone learns about them and jacks the prices!!
I havent! I keep seeing it but I dont know anyone that has tried it. I dont buy a ton of low proof stuff these days but I think I should make an exception! Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
@@yourdrinkingbuddy It’s pretty solid in my opinion! The major knock of course being the proof. I was just curious as I haven’t had the KC 10, I was hoping for a comparison between the two hahaha
@user-so6yj9vk1g i probably should have thrown it in... it isnt technically a rye... but the blend would be at likely be more than 51% rye. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
I probably should have. I am sure the blends total percentage is more than 51% rye, despite having a bourbon blended in. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
Good review. I cannot believe JD Barrel Proof Rye isn't in here. Everyone I know would say it beats all these by leaps and bounds. Michters is sweet...but lacks complexity and finish.
@@CuttingEdgeWorks that was a 2023 release. But it won 2nd best rye last year behind Handy. I definitely love those. They are amazing. Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
@@yourdrinkingbuddy as someone who found your channel randomly looking for a good rye and is not familiar with your channel statements like that really sounds to me like product placement. As someone new to the whisky space looking for changes to watch the detergent just kinda turned me off. I'll admit I was wrong, but I doubt I'm the only one who had that reaction. Cheers
Turn around, bottom right corner. Take the seagrass. Throw all other bottles away. Seagrass is the greatest rye again of 2024 in my completely unbiased opinion.
@yourdrinkingbuddy sorry if I said that confusing, I meant trade my MBS rye for a Stagg 22b. I have a couple other Staggs (22a and a SP) but I do not have 22b yet

The JD SB BP Rye I just picked up is phenomenal so far its my favorite pour of the year
It seriously breaks whiskey hunting. If a bottle that good, just sits on shelves, why hunt?
Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
Nice little blind, loving the rye too. Nice shout out to those big contributors too, makes me smile. Cheers DB
Thanks for this buddy. You need to try the Racantour rye btw... it is special!
Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
Raconteur is something else! Top 5 rye of the year contender for sure.
It still shocked me how much better it was than the rest!
Cheers buddy thanks for everything 🥃
Don't know much about Rye's , just starting to get into them. Good information 👍 🥃😉 Cheers
Great starter ryes:
Sazerac rye
Rare Breed Rye
Michter's rye
Jack Daniel's sibbp rye

Both of the Silver Groves for this year are outstanding. Cheers buddy!
I really love New Riff in just about everything they do.

That Racontuer rye is amazing!!!
It sure is. I am wowed by that one. Thanks for the sample buddy!

Did you get batch #1 or batch #2? I hear they are really different with batch #2 being a bit sweeter ...
@@pesto12601 I've haven't tasted batch 2 yet. But batch one is amazing though

Great blind. The Michters 10 2024 rye, bye FFFFFAAAAARRRRR! Best rye i got this year!
I have never found a M10R to be worth the high cost. Is this year's extra special?;
Cheers buddy thanks for watching 🥃
@@yourdrinkingbuddy i compared it with a 2021 and the BS from this year and it was far, far better than both, imo

Surprised the Michters didn’t do better. But those other two must be special! Cheers
I was VERY surprised myself. It is a great whiskey that was just outclassed by two very special releases.

I don’t even care for Jack Daniels. However, their single barrel Rye with the maroon label is really excellent and only about $50
I love most JD these days and you are right. That is a great bottle.

Also.. you spelled Raconteur wrong.. LOL...
Weird! I swear I checked it. 🤦
Hey I saw that Heaven Hill grain to glass is in Total Wines in AZ, 115 bucks, check it out

As soon as you say "i havent even tried it yet" I'm out.
Curious as to why? It smashed 2 of the 4 whiskeys. It IS one of the best ryes of the year and the blind helped show that.

I got a MBS Rye at msrp. Im not huge rye guy but I do love JDSBBSR.
My question is, would you trade it for a Stagg 22b or 23c?
