This Mark IV is in beautiful condition! I owned one in 85, bought it from a little old lady who purchased it new, and used it as her daily driver for her 3 mile round trip to work transport. It only had 14K miles on it when purchased from her. To date, it was the most comfortable car I ever owned, even nicer than my Mark VIII that I bought later. I hope who ever buys this classic American luxury coupe enjoys it. It’s absolutely the best, most comfortable road trip car I’ve ever been in.

My best bud bought one in 1972 that was black on black, on black. He was a black finish aficionado. The paint on the Mark IV always looked like it was liquid, poured on, and ready for an auto show. It was stunner, something you can't say about many new cars.

This was the best of the Mark IV series. Clean, flowing lines, no 5 MPH bumpers, and no mad disco interiors and chrome exterior enhancements! This model had a few 1972 Options such as the front grill bumper guard, bodyside moldings. Sadly no sunroof, cruise control or electric window defroster. The little mark on the inside door is a cigarette burn mark. 1972 was the most powerful and fastest Mark IV model. I would love to see how one looks with the Vinyl roof scraped off and painted to match the car. That would be very sleek. One bit of trivia, the opera window first started with this car and no, they were NOT optional, deleting the window was optional.

Victorious poodle.... I agree with you totally...... Although I've seen pre 73 marks with with the Moon roof it's usually after market..... They didn't come out until 73 with the factory option sunroof and it was only in the silver anniversary .... After 73 you could get it as an option on any model mark....FYI ..They are rare as hens teeth........ Side note, I found a 73 silver anniversary outside
of Philadelphia about 4 years ago for $3500....... Needed a new top but it looked all there....... Could kick myself in the ass for not going up there and snatching that car up....... What a steal.... Will never see that again in my lifetime......

@@thomascoleman3169 Hi Thomas. I was talking about the Sunroof option that goes all the way back to the 1970 Mark III. It's a metal sunroof covered to match the vinyl roof. You are correct that the glass moonroof did not appear until 1973 and for only the Silver Luxury Group option. Shame you didn't buy that '73. That was a great price. Once again, I'd love to see a '72 or '73 with the vinyl stripped off and painted to match. I saw a Mark III like that and it look a million times better!

They come up the same time together due to only one vacuum pod in the center with a rod that connects to both doors. What your fun fact is interesting about is roughly 2% of 72s did not come with the opera window so those are very rare. Nice video:)

I love it. You guys have such a good eye for cars and trucks! My dad gave my mom a new 72 for her 40th birthday. It was white with a black top, and navy blue leather. It was an early model without the cross bar in the grille. I wish she'd kept it, but she bought a BMW in 74, and then went back to a black diamond Mark IV in 1976. These cars never rattled, and never had mechanical problems. Can't say the same for the BMW. Subscribing NOW!

The original vinyl for the top was called calvary twill. The opera windows were optional on the 72. $ 84.14.Very few can be found without them. They were made standard for 73 onward. The factory painted pinstripes are missing. On the burgundy colored cars they would have been ivory. The lower "grille guard " was optional. The spoke rim blow steering wheel was a carry over from the 71 Continental Mark III. I was replaced by a two spoke wheel later in the year. Also it does not have the remote control passenger side rear view mirror also optional in 72.

I like the 1st year '72 mark iv it was toned down but much faster than '73 and '74 well it's all about looks and plush. The mark 3 is my most Favorite 🚗🌟

What's the difference between the Mark 4 and the Mark 3? We had the Mark 3 back in 1975. I was 5 at the time. Now in my mid 50s I'm wondering if I should get a used Mark 4? Finding parts will be hard when the car breaks down.

Every thing is awesome on that gorgeous 72 mark iv except that stupid bar across that beautiful waterfall grill I'm pretty dam sure that the designer of that absolutely stunning beautiful mark iv was NOT to have that stupid bar disturbing the effects of that gorgeous tall chrome waterfall grill.❤🎉

I HAD A MARK IV JUST LIKE THAT EXCEPT MINE WAS BLACK WITH BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR AND HAD THE ' WIDE GANGSTA WHITEWALLS ' . MY UNCLE BROUGHT IT NEW IN 1974 AND HE SOLD IT TO ME FOR $1 WHEN I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL. IT SEEMED LIKE IT WOULD TAKE 5 GALLONS OF GAS JUST TO START THAT BIG 460 CUBIC INCH ENGINE!! BUT ONCE YOU GOT IT UP TO SPEED, IT RODE LIKE YOU WERE FLOATING ON AIR!!!
