Funny you posted this video, just got done loading up to fish a tournament in a friends boat and threw some Tokyo rigs in my bag , been catching fish on a wobble head and I'm down to one last wobble head and thought a tokyo would be a suitable replacement, also I like to use two tungsten weights also but I put a glass bead in between , btw early congrats on hitting 100,000 subs , you def deserve it
Tyler first off I like to say great video really enjoyed the content I learned something from you and that brings me to my second point for a younger aged angler like yourself you're very knowledgeable and very informative and other anglers like myself even though I'm an experienced angler I still can learn from you and that's the thing a lot of these younger folks nowadays don't realize is you can learn from anybody you can learn from the old guys like Roland Martin or a randy blaukat ya know guys like that and you can also learn from younger guys like yourself and I hope I really hope that everybody is actually taking his information that you're giving away to heart because they don't realize all the work that goes into it. your learning this to give t0 other people you have to think about it then you have to come up with it go out try It out trial and error learn where it works where it don't and then you present it to us all wrapped up in a package nice and neat and I for one really appreciate it thank you sir please keep putting out great wholesome informative content like you do also keep killing it out there on the water much appreciated much respect thank you
That is the first positive review of the Tokyo rig I’ve seen. For financial reasons, I’ll stick with drop shots (using lightly crimped split shot) but maybe with the weight closer to the bait.
I've been using them for a couple of years up here in Washington One thing I love doing with the Tokyo rig is place a glass bead between my weights for a different sound it seems to get me some extra bites. This year I caught a 5lber. My friend was on the front of the boat pitching a jig while I was on the back pitching the Tokyo rig. Love them.
Duddddeeee that Christmas Vacation clip was perfect hahahaha. Your videos keep getting better. Thanks for all your help and I just got my box so I’m excited to try the Tokyo rig
The first time I fished a Tokyo Rig, I became a beliver. Fishing the shoreline in the back of a shallow cove, I caught one bass on a Berkley General. When I fished the exact shoreline ,using the same bait on a Tokyo Rig, I caught thirteen. I cannot explain why it made a difference in such shallow water (1 to 2 ft.) but it did.
I like too use glass beads on my Tokyo rig with my tungsten 3/8 oz weight white or black moon beads has that pearl tint too them I get them on Amazon for cheap
Actually some legit explanation of where and why for the tokyo rig... I've had a few of these in my box for years... I use them on beds here and there but that was about it... im definitely gonna tie 1 on and try it when fishing behind people, thx hoss✌
Tokyo rig is awesome. Was wondering when Ty would get on it. Basically a drop shot power shot combo and with any soft plastic. The versatility is on point
I know my buddy like fishing that rig & catch's fish on it. I haven't bought any yet. How much of a difference is there is a short litter drop shot vs the Tokyo rig? It would b good to see an underwater comparison to see the difference.
I’ve made it a point to put down the Texas rig this year and go with a Tokyo rig all year. I’ve even gone as far as naming my own rigs with longer stand offs.
I bend it just enough to hold the weight , then it tucks up in the recess of my weight . When you bend the tip into a loop you lose a longer piece of the dropper . IMO
I lose too many rigs to snags. To save money, I use a dropshot. I use a lightly crimped split shot. Replacing a split shot is a lot quicker and cheaper than replacing a whole rig.

Hay man milt here I haven’t fished that rig but I will try it thanks to you Milton
Jesus. I felt that first hookset in my SOUL!
Works well in soft muddy bottom situations keeps the bait clean

I love using this rig! I catch more fish this way than ever.
Definitely gonna build some tokyo rigs, looks awesome.
Thanks Ty.
Great video thanks for your time
I’m going to try this rig set up this weekend! Thanks man!

100K subs here we come!!
Makes a lot of sense. Great editing by the way! People don't know how much time that takes.
I have found this rig to fish surprisingly well. I’ve caught fish on the drop as well as dragging in clear water.
I normally bend the wire just to the side or make a loop I find it sticking out to be problematic with catching weeds
What kind of tungsten weights do you use? They look like MonsterBass, but not sure
Great content! Helped me understand how to throw it! I’m definitely going to throw this in my next tournament

How much longer are your standoffs? Do you catch more with them?
When I bend the wire to hold my weights, that bend tends to hook on to the vegetation. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Bend it all the way around to make a loop for vegetation
I bend it just enough to hold the weight , then it tucks up in the recess of my weight . When you bend the tip into a loop you lose a longer piece of the dropper . IMO
I agree with everything but I haven’t caught anything on the Tokyo rig yet
I just got bit off in my favorite pond by a turtle trying a Tokyo rig for the first time
Must’ve been a monster turtle to get enough in his mouth to bite off the whole lure. Wow!
I have all the terminal tackle and everything I need for the Tokyo rig. But I'd be lying if I said I used it yet
Ps milt again who makes this rig
Have you fished it from the bank?

Honestly, not a fan of this rig. That is all.
