I've never been to Hawaii, but would love to go one day, so this was a fantastic overview! But why was I sitting here listening about the fireplace and thinking "They must really love soccer!" I had to google it because I knew that couldn't possibly be right. Pele the god of fire makes a LOT more sense! I love that you got an extra special experience at the Mauna Loa factory. How cool! You're right that you never know what's going to happen to enhance your experience! That waterfalls and the banyan trees! OMG! Incredible! I've never seen shave ice like that. In Baltimore we call them "snowballs" and we put marshmallow cream on top, but what you showed is NOTHING like what we do here. Yours was so much more epic! Hope you're having a blast in Malaysia! What a huge difference from Hawaii. Our world really is incredible!
Aloha! Great video so beautiful :) Well that worked out great, those attire items purchased will hold extra special memories as you wear them in the future-and you were able to know exactly what you were looking for :)! 🚢🥰
Thank you soo much for your coverage. I am an 82 year old woman who. Signed up for a four month partial world tour on the Queen Mary through Road Scholar. It would be the trip of a lifetime. Sadly I had to cancel due to health . Many of the ports I would have visited are ports you are visiting so I am able to be an armchair traveler I also realize the pace and more to the point, the heat would have probably been too hard for me. Thank you again for your coverage. The only thing I missed were some of the famous Buddha statues, but that’s just me.
Thanks so much for following along with us. We try to show everything that we have the opportunity to see but sometimes our excursions don’t take us to some of those statues or other places. As you know, we just have to pick and choose.😀
I just love your videos and I'm so happy for you 2 that you get to visit all those places...❤❤ you deserve to do that you worked hard and??? Why not??😊😊😊
Your videos are so fun and I enjoy watching them while I work to remind me that I work so I can travel too. Been to Hawaii twice. Love it!!!! But think I’ve done it wrong because I never enjoyed the traditional Hawaiian foods.
Wife and I were just in Hawaii for the first time 2 months ago with some friends. 10 days on the Big island wasn't enough. Stayed just south of Hilo. Spent 2 of the days at Volcano National Park, a day visiting the waterfalls and even zip lined over one north of Akaka, and saw whales spouting and smacking their tales on the water just off the shore.
We love watching your travels! Thank you for sharing these! My 5 kids also watch them with me. They would like to ask a question: do you know how many kids are doing the ultimate world cruise? And what do the kids like to do for fun on the ship?
There are 22 or 26 kids ages 2 to 16 doing the full world cruise. Royal Caribbean has adventure ocean for all of the kids. On hot days, they also open up their little wading pool with a small waterslide. I see a lot of children doing homeschooling in the mornings. Other children join on throughout the various mini legs and I see them all playing together. They also have ping-pong tables, dance parties, and other activities for the children. For Easter, they had an Easter egg hunt and at Christmas Santa Claus came and gave them all a small gift.
The other passengers who have become good friends with you really lucked out in finding a great couple with whom to discover/explore various areas of the world. It seems as if the two of you are kind and thoughtful people who are more than willing to share your travel expertise/experiences with likeminded fellow travelers. Congratulations on forging new friendships and on reveling in all the world offers to those with open and inquisitive minds.
You both look so good together. You complement each other. Hawaii is on my bucket list. Love the way you explain the places you visit. It's like been their with you. Love to see a volcano. The turtle and shirt are awesome. ❤❤❤
Thanks for the clarification on shave ice, as an Aussie I’ve never seen/tried it and had jumped to the wrong assumption 🙂 Loving seeing the things you are doing that I would definitely do, and the ones I wouldn’t have thought of - didn’t realise I was so set in my ways!!!!! Travel broadens the mind, even when it is vicarious. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of the adventure
I would love a cruise to Hawaii! I've only ever been to Honolulu and Maui so would enjoy going to the Big Island. I wish there were more round trip cruises from the west coast! Thanks for sharing your trip. I always enjoy your videos. Mike looks great in his new shirt!
This is lovely video of Hilo. Looks like a great place to visit. Pearl Harbor is a top place I want to go. Hawaii is on our short list for trips. :) Thank you for the video.
💖💖💖 really interesting day. My college roommate lives in Oahu so I’ve been there several times and also made a couple of trips to Maui and once to Kauai but I’ve never made it to the big island. Thanks for taking me along. Looking forward to the next video on the big island. Stay safe
Only Hawaiian island i haven't been too! Looks lovely........Maui always my fave and so upset about Lahaina.Oahu becoming las Vegas and had a bad experience on Kuai and Molokai was a day trip.LOL the worst food ive ever had was at a Luau!I swam in the 7 Falls on Maui!Love the shave ice with ice cream and beans!I think i have your necklace too!
Wonderful day in and around Hilo! You obviously love the place. I’ve only been to Kauai which I really enjoyed. Alas my travelling days are over but I am living vicariously through your blogs on My Lady Serenade. Question: have you done a ship tour video? I would love to have a glimpse of some of my favourite spots!
What you didn't stop at Ken's House of Pancakes! My in-laws lived on the Big Island for 50 years. Sadly they are no longer with us. They lived just a few miles downhill from Hawai'i Volcanoes NP. Have hiked most all of the trails around and down into the caldera. Miss those days and the island. Need to plan another trip back soon. Thanks so much for sharing.
@@livingphase2 people are asking what you did with your cars? That seems like a useless question. Everyone would be different, sell them, store them, park them, loan to a relative…. Not sure what the point of asking that question is. It’s like you 2 are going to Mars and not coming home again… no big deal it just seemed there would be better questions than that. , all good, not trying to be negative… I know you’re living in the future for us hope all is well.
Nancy here, I try to go to bed by 10 and then get up around six, no alarm. Mike stays up a bit later and sleep in a tad bit later unless we have an excursion scheduled.

Love the turtle necklace but am in awe of that Hawaiian shirt. The patterns match perfectly at the button up sides, just wow!
Nancy here, and is someone who says I appreciated that too. Thanks for noticing!😉
What an incredible day in Hawaii. Beautiful sites.
Yes it was! Thanks for coming along.
I lived on the big island of Hawaii for 15 years and this just took me back… 😢❤ I miss it so much!

Are there ships originating in Hawaii to LA?
If so and if you have the time, book two cruises.
I don't fly and that's my solution.
Woohoo! Another great video! 🌸
Thanks so much!
This is lovely video of Hilo. Looks like a great place to visit. Pearl Harbor is a top place I want to go. Hawaii is on our short list for trips. :) Thank you for the video.

Question: have you done a ship tour video? I would love to have a glimpse of some of my favourite spots!
Thanks for following along. No, we have not done the ship tour yet. Believe me, we have tried, but something always fills our time.
You both look cute in those outfits from what I can see. Very flowery.
Hawaii looks beautiful.
How many sea days to get there?
It took us five days to get to Hawaii.
👍👌

We have macadamia plantations here in Michoacán, México.
The trees are beautiful!
So jealous. Have you taken the Canadian train across Canada yet? .. doest beat this lol
No, but we would absolutely love to do that someday.
Awesome vid again thanks. Cars? That seems pretty irrelevant, everyone’s situation is so different I don’t see the point. Weird…

Why time do you go to bed and what time to you get up? Do you have any kind of schedule
Nancy here, I try to go to bed by 10 and then get up around six, no alarm. Mike stays up a bit later and sleep in a tad bit later unless we have an excursion scheduled.
Well that’s my schedule lol
Title typo “Best” shave ice
Thanks so much. Will get it corrected right away.
