Advice from a former drifter. Learn to drive your car as fast as possible around a track at the limit before you try to drive beyond it. It’s what I told the guy who bought my drift car. Once you learn the edge of your car and get comfortable there drifting will almost come second nature. Great video keep pushing.
I want to learn how to drift so bad that shit looks mad fun and I never see clips of people learning so now I kinda know what to expect trying it out can’t wait to see how u keep progressing
I actually really appreciate the fact that you (obviously) aren’t THAT advanced yet. Extremely relatable, and we get to see the progression in your sideways capabilities over time.. love it, amazing footage & the wing makes the car soooo much more poppin 😭😭 can’t wait for mine 😞
Nice man. I knew that it was you I drove past. Drove past you leaving Road Atlanta. I was in the white GR86 you flashed at Your videos are some of the first ones I came across before getting my GR86. Great content, keep it up!
I know camber may not be the most important thing when it comes to drifting, but in the rollers it looked like you barely had any and that may have been why it was hard to get the z to slide. Don't quote me on that because I am most definitely not a professional and only sim drift, but great job on your first time for being on the track! Another thing, towards the end you said to maybe tandem one day. However, I have a buddy that goes to that track because he is a local and tried to tandem with his friend, but they came up to them and said that they couldn't. I don't know if that was during while TDIB was hosting it because I saw that you guys had seen people tandeming. Caffeine and Octane recently bought out that track and he doesn't like the way they run it.
Agreed some could definitely be useful, and as for sun drifting, it’s definitely something I’d love to get into whereas I hear it’s pretty similar to the real thing, but TDIB drift events allow tandems with whoever and whenever you want so I guess he’s more free going then some other events.
The brz really looked great in the drift track~ The Z without the bumper on looks too~ Glad we can see your journey learning how to drift~ The shots used in this video are crispy clean!!!
I'm getting a drift car at the end of the year and it's gonna be a 350z if you guys ever come to Cali or in Texas next year id be down to go to events with you guys
Well to elaborate, it's probably fine, do you know what rpm's you hit? Either way there is one school of thought out there that modern engines are mostly broken in already and you can just send it. But the manual suggests under 4k rpm and vary the throttle for the first 1k. Maybe the life of the motor got shorter, but are you going to keep it well into the 6 digits anyway?
If you’re talking about the BRZ, it was off all the way with the left button and I kept spinning out, so I starting doing semi traction control off so I could ease into sliding, and as for the 350z, it’s a base model where it has no buttons to turn off anything so we’re figuring out how to deactivate that stuff manually
@@B_levan are you running a 2 way LSD or welded diff? Not seeing that in any of your specs, that will be a huge help to drifting both cars if you don't have. You definitely look like you have a bit too much traction on both cars. Also, I think you are getting on the gas too early and/or maybe too hard, the rear needs to come out a touch more. That is likely why you were spinning out every time you broke loose. Not an expert by any means, but may be worth looking into.

Props to you man! We all don’t start perfect and that’s a good start that’s how you learn.
Really appreciate that, we will continue to push out of our comfort zones to learn more and more!

Just got my 2nd gen but didn’t know I had to break it in. Already got 200 miles should I be worried ? Been flooring it the second day I got it
Oh my haha, maybe just take it easy and do that oil change at 1k miles

Your traction controls on lol hold down the left button. It does more then the right. Read the manual
