  • Had another fun jump park bash, first one with my Typhon testing taped Proline MX28 tires taped on F11's. Missed capturing a Mega launch and clean triple set jump. Thought the GoPro was on and it wasn't....... still kicking myself. Center diff crapped out at the end, so there was no redo...Lol. Such is life. Tires ran and jumped great. Thanks to Dubbl-A from the Arrma Forum for his motivation to try them out.

    And I have a question and looking for help. Recently I replaced the Armma BLX 185, with aroma BLX 200 system but keep the Tactic txx300 radio system. The 200 requires 6v to run. The 185 radio only puts out 4v. Can that effect my speed cause it is slow and yes I programmed it twice? Running 6s

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tank 62 I don't think your radio/receiver is the issue, it's designed for 6v I believe, but no more. The Tactic TTX300 comes with the Nero which runs the BLX200 system. I ran it in my Kraton and it was very FAST with tons of torque. I'm wondering if something is wrong with the wiring or setup. Did you calibrate the transmitter to the ESC via "throttle setup"??? That's where you hold the set button then release it after turning on the ESC. Should here constant beeping. Press set button while in neutral, pull full throttle then press set again, push full Brake then press set again, then shut ESC off. I'd try these recalibration steps before anything else if you haven't already. Remember the ESC programming variables such as punch, brake force...etc are different between the BLX185 and BLX200 systems. You can download the manual from the Arrma website if you need the programming table. Make sure to recalibrate with the truck on a stand just in case...Lol😱. Are you running the full motor/ESC combo or just the motor?🤔🤔

      RC Ranch thanks brother 👊!!! Just make sure to vent them. I didn't think it was necessary with these 2.8s, but I found a decent amount of sand and crap in them after my Gorilla tape job let loose and sidewall ripped running the Castle 2200/Mamba Monster X combo😨. Think the sand and dirt helped breakdown the tape 🤔. I use 1/8"(or smaller) sharpened aluminum tubing chucked in a drill. Makes about the same size hole as the rim holes which I seal off with tape. 🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

      Stewdogg Stew thanks brother, I'm super impressed with these MX28'S, that spot is bone dry and very slick/powdery dirt. Perfect size/weight for Truggified Typhon. Hoping to bash her after work today. Missed filming 2 HUGE mega launches at the end, had to rebuild center diff and straighten twisted rear chassis...Lol. rich I asked what this was like bashing on another video but after seeing this I have my answer this thing flies over this rough terrain with your set up and clears jumps effortlessly it is quick rig might have to look into one of these also great video rich I like it☺

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      carlo fois thanks bro. Just to clarify, this is my Truggified Typhon. Stock Typhon with added Kraton hexs, axels, and hubs. The other rig with SRC Terrain Crushers was my Outcast build with bigger towers, shocks, arms, and shafts. (Outcast dimensions). The Truggified Typhon is WAY FASTER. Much lighter and nimble and probably my favorite speed basher. MX28's are absolutely perfect size for this setup.😵😵👊

      Rich Duperbash I agree I'm doing my shopping list now lol ☺ I'm definitely going to do one of these in next few months your welcome rich anytime good to speak with people with a vast knowledge on these rigs and your right the versatility aspect is awesome they all drive and feel completely different that's what I also love bout them the speed and durability my kraton took a beaten today.☺👍

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      carlo fois wanted to share that some have widened there Typhons for bigger 2.8, 17mm hex wheels by using hex adapters such as TD310269, by Team Durango. This is probably cheaper and easier than swapping for Kraton parts. Team Redcat and Team Associated also make adapters, but I don't have part numbers handy.👍👍

    just a quick question, I saw the manual under pivot ball maintenance, you need to remove the 2 spaces from the upper and lower arm suspension and you will be able to pull out the whole steering block? but I noticed that the pivot balls are threaded? shouldn't it to be we have to unscrew the top and bottom pivot balls before detaching it out from both of the upper and lower suspension arms?

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exceeded yes you need to unscrew the pillow balls with 2.5mm hex to do the full maintenance. I usually remove the red pillow ball nuts first, but you can just loosen them out a bit and remove pillow balls from A arms by alternating each one out with 2.5mm a few turns at a time each until they fully unscrew. Once off, with the caps removed, you push the balls out of the hubs, clean the black bushings inside, hubs, and balls, then just reassemble. Remember to keep A arms about ground level when removing and replacing balls. This makes it easier and avoids scratching up anything.

  • @Stanleybb50
    @Stanleybb50 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome! And I know you've said it before, but what mods did you do to your hub/axle to accommodate?

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brad Adamski I swapped for Kraton version 2 hex's, axels, and hubs. This widens the stance about 1" overall, and allows for MT wheels. If you check eBay, you can sometimes score a good deal, otherwise it's like 70-80$ for retail.🐒🐒🐒

  • @mustafaalemdag3850

    In this video, are those stock shocks and shock fluid? If so do you know the weight? You take some mean jumps without fear. How has the truck held out on you? Many breaking parts? If so which ones give you the most difficulty? I have an erevo and the duffs are horrible. That why I ask. I'm thinking about buying the Typhon. I want to bash and zip around a 1/10 local track. Do you recommend?

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mustafa Alemdag thanks brother. These are stock shocks/springs with 50 weight front, 40 rear I believe. I will double check when I get home in a bit, usually write it down when I service them. The Typhon is an AWESOME rig, especially for the price. Probably the best buggy out there for a RTR. Plenty of power even with stock electronics, particularly with 6s. I really don't break many parts, occasional shock shaft or shock rod end. Recommend running Hot Racing aluminum chassis supports and Tbone Racing front bumper. You will also bend or break wingmounts, but they are cheap to replace. 👍😵😵😵😲😲💪👊👊

    • @zeusm8498
      @zeusm8498 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich Duperbash i think they would be great for the outcast too I'm going to order them for my xmaxx when the get them back in stock, and I'm also debating whether I want a typhon or a senton have you ever driven a senton

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      zeus m84 I love my Typhon, haven't driven a Senton, but they're supposed to be tough as nails. I like the Typhon myself cuz it's great for doing higher speed street stuff and probably jumps further with less parachute effect from it's streamline body. The MX38s look great on the Outcast, just wondering if they'd be better on 4s. Think the extra wheel mass would be hard to control on 6s in the air and maybe on the ground. Probably would want an upgraded servo, too. Don't think RC Bashing the Kraton is running his on his Outcast anymore. He'd be a good person to check with on that for a solid opinion.

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      zeus m84 that's the thing about wheels/tires, they have to be a good overall fit for the wheelbase...etc. I have a few wheel sets I'd consider mistake purchases in hindsight. Sometimes it's trial and error, but it sucks to regret spending the $$$$ after the fact...Lol.😵😵😵

  • @mojitos116
    @mojitos116 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you had to modify anything to fit does 2.8 wheels?

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      omar olmedo yes I did. Had to swap for V2 Kraton hubs, axels, and hubs. Puts each wheel out another 1/2" for 1" wider stance total. Check eBay, otherwise it's about 80$ for parts off Tower. The axels are pricey. Some people have used Team Associated hex adapters, but probably puts a bit more lateral strain on the bearings...etc. As is now, the 2.8 tires are friggin sweet, but you need to tape them or fronts will balloon and rub the body when turning on hard throttle. 👍👍😵😵😵😵🙋🙋👊

  • @civicfd4434
    @civicfd4434 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So to truggify my typhon,all I need is Kraton 4wheel axles, 4 wheel hubs and 4wheel hexes and of course 4 f11 2.8 rims and tires?

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exceeded yep. Make sure you buy the 17mm hex 2.8 F11s. You can also do what others have done and just get hex adapters, probably much cheaper and easier. People have used Team associated, Redcat racing, and Team Durango # TD310269. This technically puts more strain on your bearings, but probably not that significant. 👍👍😵😵😲👊

    • @civicfd4434
      @civicfd4434 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you for your prompt reply! yes. kept browsing the 12MM premounted ones online.seems like they only have the unmounted ones in 17MMs. I'm still considering if I wana go this route on the typhon or just switching out tires on my serpent truggy(easier) compared to typhon HAHA. both are 6s capable just that the truggy has a saddle layout compared to the conventional battery on one side layout.damn I am lazy. but not lazy for online shopping lol.

    • @richduperbash2966
      @richduperbash2966  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exceeded I hear you bro, but unmounted is the way to go. Tape your tires with 2" Gorilla tape and glue them on the F11s, otherwise ballooning is ridiculous and will rub the body violently when turning on throttle. Granted I drive mostly 6s, but even on 4s these Prolines simply swell too much untaped with these power systems.👍👍

    • @civicfd4434
      @civicfd4434 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh yea! thanks for that tip forgotten about going full throttle and tires ballooning! moreover they do not have mounted ones in 17mm so that's good too!i will get the 2" gorilla tape to stick on my tires. just one layer is enough? or more is better? the route to mx28 for my truggy is easier but for the arrma is so much nicer.dang.decisions.

      Exceeded I usually clean the inside tire with alcohol, let dry and then do just one wrap overlapping the ends by about an inch. Easier to turn tire inside out first then tape. Good luck whatever you decide, but taping is worth the effort no doubt.👍👍

      Gerald Childers I certainly could, but my Slash is stripped of electronics at the moment and has a mystery front diff issue that needs solving. Just rebuilt it awhile back, but something is amiss. Ironically, the BLX185 combo in my Typhon came out of my Slash 😱!!! Not sure what my plans are with it at this point. Had been thinking about doing a speed project 🤔. I'm currently doing 2-3 other rebuilds. The Slash is a great rig when properly upgraded, but I'd recommend the Typhon over it any day. 🍻🤘🤘😎💪👊👊

    I’ve been wanting to buy a new Typhon. What’s the point of making it “truggified” and not just going with the truggy Arrma offers? Thanks!

      3literheater a Truggified Typhon is quicker and more nimble than a Kraton or Talion, but more stable and better for jumping than a stock Typhon. It isn't ideal for really rugged terrain, but it just plain rips for speed bashing. 😎💪👊👊

    What battery did you use?

      Back then I was probably using an SMC 6s hardpack. I now run mostly Hobbystar 6s 5000mah 100C single hardpacks with a single EC5 connector off the ESC. 🍻😎💪👊👊

    how does this compare to talion?

      Renagade it's faster and much squirrellier 😨. Incredibly nimble for speed bashing. Way more durable with the shorter chassis, arms, links, and driveshafts. Still my favorite RC all around. 😎💪👊👊
