I know corporations don't do kickstarter campaigns, but I'd invest a looooot of money to get this one game properly remade. Xenogears is the best RPG I've ever played in my 40 years of gaming.

A 2d HD remake of this game is the only thing i want from Square. This game is my childhood, so many memories playing this game on my ps1, a remake of this is just a dream come true.
Xenogears remake would be amazing, as long as they keep the original soundtrack. Xenogears and Shenmue are tied for the best video game soundtracks of all time.
Would need to be a collaborative work with Nintendo, since the studio who know the work better than anyone else is Monolith. That wouldn't be a bad thing either. I know when people think of 'remake', they always want something that's some kind of extreme high polish hyper-real Final Fantasy level epic, but I'm not sure that would fit Xenogears (and the Switch is plenty powerful for a remake of a game that hasn't been touched since the Playstation). I would say though, Xenogears is one of those titles that really should have gone further, and would have done if Square allowed. Same with Namco and Xenosaga (which went further, but still only got 3 mainline titles of what should have been a 6 game epic). People might respect what Tetsuya Takahashi was going for now that he's had incredible success with Xenoblade Chronicles.

It was behind its contemporaries (in performance) when it launched; that performance difference is even more apparent compared to what's currently available.
Unfortunately, this probably will not happen: Xenogears' creators, Takahashi Tetsuya and Saga Soraya were unhappy with how they were treated at Squaresoft while making Xenogears; after they completed the game, they left to form their own company, Monolith Soft. Despite this, Square Enix still owns the rights to Xenogears. Thus, Takahashi-san and his team at Monolith Soft can only make indirect references to Xenogears, as they have done with the subsequent Xeno games. The situation is unjust. I pray that Square Enix will do the right thing: sell the rights to Xenogears to Monolith Soft.

The Star Ocean Second Story R treatment with great 3D environments and sprite characters would do great for a Xenogears R. Specially during Gear fights where gears would get some awesome 3D.
xenogears was before my time but i’ve been playing older RPGs like Grandia and Chrono Cross lately, so of course Xenogears has been on my radar. both aforementioned games I was very happy to play as remasters on Switch, and it’s been so much fun. These games deserve to be played!! please consider a remaster for Xenogears too ❤
Grandia 1 & 2 are some of my absolute favorite rpgs. Chrono Trigger as well. I haven't played Chrono Cross yet, but its next up on my list. Almost done with Xenogears, which if you like the aforementioned, I highly recommend playing. One of the best stories I've seen yet. Also recommend Suikoden 1 & 2

Small of Two Pieces (same melody) is still IMO, the best ending theme ever written for a game. Hits me in the feels every time. Please, I'm begging SQEX come to some kind of agreement with Monolith so Takahashi can finish his dream project
