I have 2 dogs, and it has taken years to develop the relationships that we have with each other.
My Tibetan Terrier can literally read my mind, and he can tell which people I like, and who I dislike!
He does that without any sign from me, and he treats them accordingly!
He is very affectionate to the people that I like (very affectionate), and he has growled at the people I don't like.
My dogs communicate very well without words.
I do believe that dogs have very similar emotions to humans.
There is no question that they do feel genuine love!
I'm very thankful for this informational video. Now I can put on my applications that I'm bilingual.

My dog was one that came once in a lifetime. He NEVER snipped or barked directly at anyone. He was the most kind dog one could have. He had so much trust and love in him that even when he got loose (camping or at home), we would find him sitting by the door patiently. He was such a good boy. 😢

Don't feel too bad. I'm a horrible pet parent too. my dog loves to have her head and ears scratched, I'm always hugging her and she snuggles into me and I kiss her little nose. She's a pug by the way and she's spoiled to the core.
another thing I do is give her scraps once in a while and let her up on the furniture and give her a pedicure or a paw-dicure. xD
A lot of individual communications like this mean different things in different contexts. As an example, ears pinned back could mean they are frightened, but it could also be a way of saying "hello" if the ears are slightly more to the side and not as far back. I haven't heard of a raised paw indicating stress, but I have heard of it as a way of saying that they want something.

my dog yesterday was panting, scratching alot, growling at nothing and barking, he was mad at my other two dogs for nothing, I Didnt know what to do because he was not himself, he was quiet and didnt wanna do anything, He wasnt himself because hes mad and fun and jumpy, I Hugged him and said its okay, he was fine after that, i gave him some treats and now hes fine, thanks for this vid

Thank you for this video. I found it very helpful although I was aware of most if my dogs body language. I have an over anxious mini poodle who will bite if we don't back off so we need to know everything she is displaying. We do have vet behaviourists involved and working with us. She has been afraid of living in the big wide world ever since we got her at 8 week. She is also afraid of noise and bangs. We didn't know she would grow up in to a very fearful dogs who will bite us when under stress. We manage her so we have to be aware of her body language. However she can catch us out occasionally. We love her and we know she is not finding it easy to live in this world but she is ours, she doesn't react to anyone else only us, so we are coping with her. She is the equivalent to a street angel and house devil at times. Everyone loves her and she loves everyone and every dog, she loves us but she feels she can react to us as her adoptive parents. I would sooner her be that way with us than towards other people.
My dog has never done any of the "backboff im tense" stuff. She's almost nine. She's never hurt a fly and I love her so so much.
dogs operate on a level that we have not managed to even get close to yet . i have a p.a.t dog . he visits hospitals and works with very very sick children . he also works in the local hospice and with dementia as well. i have no idea what he does i just know it works every single time . i am lucky to be able to be in the same room as him when he performs his magic . if its not god given then i am at a loss as to where it comes from . i am just glad he can help when drugs etc cannot . i wish we would start allowing dogs into hospitals on a much larger scale . they reduce stress and increase healing times to a massive degree . humans have an lot to learn .

My dog doesn't ever pant or have her mouth open wide at all unless she is on a walk during hot summer days, and she can't have floppy ears cause she is a chihuahua and has tall ears😂😂

the eye blink doesn't always mean tension.
i have a pit bull, and i have experimented with eye contact.
If you lock eyes, and don't blink, it can be taken as a threat. But, if you give them a wink, or a soft slow blink with both eyes, it signals that I am not a threat.
I've done this many times with one of the most notorious of viscious dogs, and he responds to my blinks with affection.
When everything is ok. I feel like a dog at that time ever since I watched this.
Sometimes it's extremely hard to tell. I saw videos where dogs switch very fast between most angry growling and happily tilting head. Or bark like crazy when just playing. Sometimes they show teeth and look VERY angry and then just relax. So it makes me wonder if they can learn to lie, living with human. Pretend to be angry when actually not to have some fun watching poor human getting scared. Or maybe taken away from mommy and other dogs they grow up not knowing how to act.

How to speak dog, higher pitch means bad/sad, lower pitch means dominating/glad. Any noise will do, such as whistling or humming.

I hope people with German Shepherds do NOT pay too much attention to this. Only a bit of this can pertain to them. Once they get their ears up permanently, forget the ear part. As adults who are not neutered or spayed, forget that grinning or smiling part, too. They tend to have other ways to get your attention. With them, body language really IS fluid.
