Little update here, Work Louder replied to the accompanying instagram post of this video. The issues I had with the keycap were known and are supposed to be fixed as they were only present in the first round of production and got corrected afterwards. They are also aware of the other issues mentioned and are working on solutions.
when I first saw this board on Instagram, I thought it was one of many concepts that I see on there and nothing more. Today I learned this is actually a real board and looks just as cool IRL as it did in the renders.
I just amazed how good your videos are. Everything in the right place: sound, montage, design, jokes and storytelling overall. Thank you very much for this pleasure. I really disappointed about subscribers number, but hope it doesn’t bother you at all. Cheers!
I'm a hobbyist keyboard layout designer and I think that there aren't enough modules to justify the slight benefits over just getting some other keyboard with your preferred layout. The price is actually somewhat reasonable compared to similar keyboards but sucks that the switches are soldered in and can't be modified for better type feel. I would recommend getting something like a gergoplex or a corne instead and adding a macropad. For a budget of about 400 you can probably also make them wireless and have someone else build them for you. The ergonomic and customizability gains are huge and even bigger with optional features like tenting and wirelessness with nice!nano but it does take some work to figure out what you want.
This was an amazing review, I hope Work Louder continues to produce more boards and further polish the product. Hopefully lowering the cost if they sell enough units and providing more options to purchasers.
Interesting consept and a niche use case board, intriguing indeed. I believe the folks at Work louder will appreciate this very detailed feedback and constructive criticism, awesome work on the video
Thanks for this review, it was really good! This keyboard is really tempting to me, but I think I will wait for a V2 since I'm used to the Preonic and prefer to have a 5th row for numbers. It feels a little bit ironic that they made a modular keyboard, but I can't add a number row to it. It's still early times for them, so I hope that will come soon.
one of the best keyboard reviews ive ever seen and im glad it happened on this board. i am extremely attracted to its aesthetic too, but never used ortho and now not sure that i would spend this much money to go that far to use it
It sure looks amazing but I’d love a more symmetrical option like a full knob top module and a 60% plank without the right knob that comes default with the base keyboard.
Thank you for let me know that it's and how we can do better. I also try to build a modular keyboard for myself, so I try to search anyone have same idea and I find this. I am so sad to see that I haven't seen a better version until now. The product more like a art than a keyboard (what a mockery). Maybe I can do better and I want, because I'm a programmer which means I also must use it to work not just louder saying "work louder".
This is such an excellent review. I was eyeing the creator micro, but no automatic profile switching and sluggish controls are a deal breaker for me I think...
Great video and review! 👍 I love the look of that keyboard, but I can't possibly afford that in the near future. I hope one day ortholinear QMK would be affordable for the "common user". 😊
You can mitigate many of the software gripes by using VIAL instead of VIA. It's a GUI just like VIA, but with much more of QMK's features exposed for programming/assignment. No further flashing of firmware is required too -- it'll work out of the box with QMK/VIA firmware
Oh wow, I didn't know that you can use VIAL instead of VIA. I only tried out VIAL once with the Frankenstein Macro Pad, thought it was either one or the other. Thanks for that! 🙂
The reasin you can put the foot at the bottom is negative angle, it is really difficult on my joints in my hands with after a few hours if I'm not using negative angle, early age althritus runs in my family
I would probably modify the entire keyboard only to improve the constructability. Unless they design an upgraded version which I'm constantly following for updates in their Notion blog.
Your videos are really amazing! I appreciate all the effort you put into them! I never heard of this product, it looks so interesting - thanks again! 💙
Not quite sure what you mean by CD 😬 but the light is a Nanlite Pavotube II 6C, if you wanna know more about everything on my desk, you can check out the timestamp of my setup video (links to everything there is in the description too): th-cam.com/video/AzVn5H0ZNVM/w-d-xo.html
There is officially a macropad with dofferent key icons. So if people are looking for that kind of stuff it has been made. Dont know if Theyre sold yet tho.
Thank you! 🙂 Regarding the channel icon, I actually had the pizza slice before, but it doesn't looks so good when it's that small... still trying to figure out a better compromise though 😅
First of all your vids are amazing... And you are so right the concept is amazing but the execution left a lot wanting.. I'm disappointed this ain't what it could be.. I would have definitely bought it if it had
@@CheeseTurbulence Yeah I saw that, what I meant was like make a normal keyboard, but replace all the keycaps with these flat square ones, but keep the standard keyboard layout and keysize. Like a long flat spacebar, tabs, enter, etc being bigger than standard keys.
This keyboard is sexy af but the 249$ and 400$ tho... I understand that they are a small company and the 400$ you are paying includes all of the small details that you mention like the video manual, their responses to the customers and other details but i can't wrap my head around a 400$ non custom keyboard and kailh only switches keycaps. I think the bouncing issue could be fix by adding some screws for the middle. You put a lot of effort into this video and this is amazing too! keep it up.
They did respond to my instagram post, they said the keycap issues have been resolved and were only present in the first production. Some of the other issues are known too and they are working on solutions.
this isn't the most unique comment on one of your videos however your video quality is awe inspiring whether it's sudden or gradual you are defo gonna grow. keep up the good work.
What if I don't want the ugly coloured knobs? Can I just get black? They also need to stop using confusing names like "Pure" "Icon" "Legend". Pointlessly confusing and meaningless.

I hope they send out a revised unit because as it stands there's no way we can verify if any of these issues are addressed

Thank you so much ☺️ the sub count doesn’t bother me, I’m surprised how much it is actually 😅

thank you so much for featuring this board! i've never seen it talked about by other channels before. great work as usual sir

Can't believe you don't have move viewers. enamoured with your videos, keep making more.
Thank you so much ☺️
You need way more views, everything in this video was top notch.

Thank you so much! Glad it helped make a decision 🙂
1:02 you can make foam sound panels with that stuff too!
I really enjoy the production of your videos (and the humor) I have been looking all over a keyboard solution such as this.
Thank you! 😊
Glad I found your video. The price for the quality of the build is quite disappointing. Thanks for a thorough review
Really nice and honest review!
Btw, Work Louder just announced keycaps with icons on them on their discord
Thank you! 🙂 and yeah, just saw the instagram post too 😅, they look great, hope I can get my hands on them as well.
Your videos are an inspiration! Good work. Want to learn how to make my own now
This channel deserves a million subs. Good quality videos!
Wow, thanks! 🙇
It sure looks amazing but I’d love a more symmetrical option like a full knob top module and a 60% plank without the right knob that comes default with the base keyboard.
I love the details, like that Wilhelm scream at 06:00! 😂
Here with the new upgrades, you gotta do an update, they've improved insane amounts
This was a great review thanks! Good point about the dots icons recognition over recall is important for users.
This is a really well thought-out criticism. Nice video man!
Thank you! 🙂
man the software walk through... thank you ! i hope they have seen this and are scheming new ideas
Thank you! Glad it was useful 🙂

9:45 i actually like that flex lol and the sound clacky sound more than the non-clacky sound when you held down the board
😅 to each their own! If you enjoy something than that's all that matters 🙂
Subbed. Your channel has a bright future!

Thank you for a thorough review, saved me some money and pass on this
Glad I could help!
This product has some teenage engineering vibes
Like the synth company? I thought the same thing lmaoo and that’s such a niche observation
@reyashvishwa teenage engineering is a company that makes synths
Looking forward to your Keychron Q2 review...
❤️ It’s in the making!
What are the various desk accessories you used? The CD with Animal figurine? and the Cylindrical Light?
Not quite sure what you mean by CD 😬 but the light is a Nanlite Pavotube II 6C, if you wanna know more about everything on my desk, you can check out the timestamp of my setup video (links to everything there is in the description too): th-cam.com/video/AzVn5H0ZNVM/w-d-xo.html

amazing work from you with that video mate!
new sub for sure!
may i suggest changing your channel icon to that pizza slice icon shown in the video. 🍕
Thank you! 🙂
Regarding the channel icon, I actually had the pizza slice before, but it doesn't looks so good when it's that small... still trying to figure out a better compromise though 😅
They seem to have nice keycaps for Kailh low profiles.
good work reviewing this
Thank you 🙇
I thought this is a big channel at least with 1-3 mil subscribers. Oh yea I can smell.
did you revise your watercooled build with more 90deg fittings and active backplate? Looking forward to an update!
Not yet but will be doing that around June/July during coolant maintenance and also share that experience 🙂
Hope you can wait a while longer 🙈
$300+ keyboard with so much issues, looks cool and i applaud the effort for something new but i dont know who wants it
First of all your vids are amazing... And you are so right the concept is amazing but the execution left a lot wanting.. I'm disappointed this ain't what it could be.. I would have definitely bought it if it had
Your videos dude.....my god. so so good.
they had a good idea but they didnt let it cook long enough
Love the look of this. But really wouldn’t want to use it with that straight layout. I’d mistype everything.
Its a cool board, but i wish they made a standard size keyboard with those caps, not just the 40%
They have a bigger version called the creator board XL, it’s essentially the same but with a numpad added to the side.
@@CheeseTurbulence Yeah I saw that, what I meant was like make a normal keyboard, but replace all the keycaps with these flat square ones, but keep the standard keyboard layout and keysize. Like a long flat spacebar, tabs, enter, etc being bigger than standard keys.
Its so beautiful ❤
whats the weird lil wireless charge catchall thing with the fox (i assume)?? i want it :)
That was the Wireless Stash/Block charger from Native Union / Tom Dixon.
They don't make it anymore but, maybe you can find it somewhere used 🙂

great review!
Thank you! 😊
hey cheese, i want this keyboaard with your signature
Whats the keyboard shown at 4:26, i checked the air75 vid it wasnt there...
NuPhy no longer makes that one, it was the F1, their first keyboard before the Air series 🙂
9:47 doohdoohdoohtus lol
Seems cool but I just dont think it would be good for workflow. Great video :)
9:33 the reason is negative typing angle
Any keyboards with a similar style with better functionality?
I think on that aspect they are very unique in this field, there's nothing really that looks like a Work Louder.
Wow, not exactly what I imagine of modular keyboard, but this is enough for me, I guess
6:24 “Loop pad” reversed spells “pad doop “ - that would bother me. Something the designers probably overlooked.
With their big media presence I wonder how they would respond to this video
They did respond to my instagram post, they said the keycap issues have been resolved and were only present in the first production.
Some of the other issues are known too and they are working on solutions.
Your style reminds me of Lemmino
Thanks, I love his videos so this means a lot to me 😅
I hope you can put the question mark back where it belongs.
That qr code panel is a waste of space.
4:27 - What is this keyboard?
That's the NuPhy F1, they don't make it anymore though 🙂
@@CheeseTurbulence thanks. Looks a lot like my Mistel AIRONE keyboard.
this isn't the most unique comment on one of your videos however your video quality is awe inspiring whether it's sudden or gradual you are defo gonna grow. keep up the good work.
Thank you so much 🙇♂️
@@CheeseTurbulence no worries 🙏
it's modular but I think it's missing the versatility and the purpose of modularity 🤷
Keyboardenstein! 👹
So in short there is nothing good about this keyboard? ;P thanks for the video, this was useful for us not to waste our money on this.
Well, it does look very cool 😉
ISO users are screwed again
Too expensive 😢
Looks insanely scuffed
You lost me at ortholinear.
What if I don't want the ugly coloured knobs? Can I just get black? They also need to stop using confusing names like "Pure" "Icon" "Legend". Pointlessly confusing and meaningless.
Самое то для war thunder
А то игровой стол скоро на орган будет похож
their awful branding all over this thing is a dealbreaker
my man, this was 2 years ago, 90% of what he said is not a problem anyore
@@OneTomato they still sell a creator board and it's still covered in loud awful branding
Dust... Dust everywhere...
lost me at corny labels "loud af" okay relax with the text speak
Did your keyboard not come with RGB? Why dont you show it?
