It's crazy to me as a 40-year-old boomer that idealized characters has become so controversial. Every female and male character in the 80s and 90s was great looking, super athletic and had natural charisma because that's what most people want to be when they escape for a few hours from their real lives. These games just brought that back and the games' journos and weirdos lost their minds over it.
First Descendant is doing the proven age old tactic that was lost on the west: Sex Sells. The prices for unlocking Ultimate characters outside the grind is insane but at the same time it goes to show gamers are willing to pay because of how rare this commodity has become in gaming. While live service games like these will always be predatory in nature, I appreciate the message it is giving: Stop pandering to DEI and make attractive men and women and it will sell. The more devs do this the more we can return gaming to its glory.
I’m upset that Sony censored stellar blade. But the game is amazing. If you own the physical copy you don’t have to patch it. Play on 1.00 and you got the uncensored version. I am on new game plus and I patched the game for the new outfits which are uncensored which are amazing. The bad news is the two nano suites they censored stayed censored. You can go back to patch 1.00 but the dlc nano suites and boss challenge mode will be gone and you would have to start new game plus or regular game over again.
I like The First Descendant a little more than Stellar Blade because the game has a little more sex appeal and fan service, but I have enjoyed them both. The First Descendant and Stellar Blade are great games in their own way one is a great shooter looter, and the other is a great hack and slash. The best part of both games is that there is sex appeal and fan service, and no DEI or ESG that would have influenced both companies to make the female characters unattractive with absolutely no sex appeal and fan service. Even the gameplay for both games are outstanding and enjoyable. One thing is for sure being Canadian I now where I want my game to come from.
Stellar blade is NOT a hack and slash, it is a wannabe soulslike pos. Get it right. Hack and slashers don't have stupid parry systems, when you press block, you block. Not some devtard dumb idea of timing.
The main preference is multiplayer or single player. I enjoy single player a lot more than multiplayer. Plus when stellar blade comes to pc it can be modded while first ascendant can’t.

Both have beautiful models but one of them just feels like a generic third person shooter game while the other is a stand-out action hack and slash experience with multiple styles of play. I’m not too familiar with shooters but they all feel the same so it’s kind of a waste of such gorgeous assets. First Descendant, if you enjoy shooters, does have the advantage of being a live service game meaning unlimited content if it’s successful. But there’s a ton of live service games out there with beautiful models so I think it’s harder to stand out vs Stellar Blade being like the only AAA game with an attractive character in the past decade.
How I see it stellarblade reminded that attractive sexy characters still sell a lot and are craved for publicly despite Sony censorship. And first descendants showed that attractive sexy thing still sell but isn’t censor by Sony. The sex sell archetype still works publicly.
Shift-Downs downfall started. When I saw them hiring for ESG reports the day they went public, I know it's just a matter of time until we see the ESG fruits unfold. Stellar Blade is most likely the last game from these devs that is free from any woke political messaging and ideologies. Another based studio lost to sweet ESG founds. I expect the first signs of ESG and DEI in their games at the start of next year, at that point we will know that it's over
Stellar Blade and First Descendant don't compete in my book. Love em both. SB was an awesome solo experience. FD is an awesome PVE experience. Both have very nice and tight gameplay. If anything, I think SB has much better "physics" and I wish FD took some lessons from Shift-up on that hahaha.

If that is the case maybe they couldn’t say anything or there would be legal action, I don’t know. Either way while the first descendant is all right they won’t make money off me.
The different is the combat. The common things is skins. Another different is the there are move characters to choices while other is limit to one character I think. One thing is hard is server and client when doing combat is tricky to deal with. One reason is hackers can spam combo if The First Descendant has more combat like Stellar Blade. Which required mob to sync with the conditions.
Both games are incredible, beautiful and extremely fun and entertaining when playing but they are different types of game. Besides of having Great looking female characters. One is a single player experience like a God of War game that once You beat it and collect Everything it gets a bit boring and the other game is looter shooter that has a lenghty story as well but focuses on coop and does not really have an end. I played StellarBlade for 165 hours and got the plat and all customes and only stopped playing because of the first Descendant, Im going to be HONEST. I've spent $500 dollards already and played over 200 hours now and I cant stop playing. I cant wait to buy Luna and Ultimate Valby and their customes and make up and build them up. I wish I could buy the weapons as well. Please nexon let me buy my python, because the grinding is too much xD. that Bunny Bootie has physics like Eve from Stellar blade, all Girls do, the shooting from TFD is amazing and fun. I have to go with TFD. I think Valby has the cutest face and body of them all, the bootie is sooooo Awesome.
I got Destiny ptsd from First Descendants and uninstalled It. The grind is too much for my liking. I never had a friend play an online game with me. That's why if Stella blade is released on pc I will buy it.

Stellar Blade is the better game but it is more vulnerable to meddling that can degrade it in the future. kuSony or some activist investor would very likely force even more censorship for future DLC as a condition for future investment. First Descendent has better potential due to continual updates designed to attract or retain more customers. Censorship is still possible but the incentive to make sexy outfits for whales to buy and keep the game alive makes it less likely.
NEXON Games didn't sell their soul to Sony, and the game is multi platform and crossplay, for that reason I prefer The First Descendant, Shift Up betrayed the PC Gamers.

The recolors is pretty scummy but not as bad as a paid game like destiny 2 doing it. Stellar blade is a 70 + game and has content within that price tag. It having a bunch of skins ( censored at that) doesn't default make it a good game or better game. Comparing the two is as asine as comparing resident evil 4 to mario sunshine.
