When you get rid of the snobbery; this is an ideal intro to camping. Its able to screen out those pesky insects and give you a base to pitch your bedding. In the spring summer its all you would need and also perhaps give you a chance to spot some wildlife in the comfort of a nioce warm bag...........good skills Allan, good skills.
sure enjoyed this video! That camo-mesh-slinky- bivy is a great option for added protection under a tarp. As you say, it will definitely keep the bugs out and your sleep system better protected. Look forward to seeing it paired with your Scarecrow shelter sometime in the future. Sorry to hear about you knee trouble. Can certainly emphasize with you there. I’m 59 years old now and my joints are starting to remind me of every stupid stunt I pulled as a kid and thought I got away with. Got a good laugh at myself just this morning when crawling out of my F-1 Troop tent before dawn… I thought this has to be an ugly sight! 🤣 But, you know- regardless of how old or large or stoved up I get, I’m going to keep doing those things I love until I absolutely can’t any longer. Life’s too short. And there are camps to be camped.😊
Evening Sargent, put a large pebble in each corner on the inside, then tire some para cord round the pebble on the outside, and then pull out the para cord like a tent tire, and peg. I use this technique with my parachute canopy as a tarp, works great. All the best Alan, ……Brian
Just bought home a few spiders from the weekends camp lol.. Hope the knee gets better, I couldn't be bothered trying to fold that it would end up on the fire...😂
Thanks for the review. Noticed those bug nets on Aliexpress and wondered if they'd be any good. Might be okay for a lightweight camp in warmer, dry weather down here in Brisbane. Cheers.
This really does look like my granddaughter s Pepa Pig play pen, apart from hers is pink ! But to put it back in the bag, large hoops together, fold into a figure of 8 and then it makes its own shape. Small Enough to fit back in the bag. 👍
You could set some tie loops up instead of the faff solutions, Bit of thickish thread/braided line through sewn through the mesh right at the top, around the pole in a clove hitch to stop it moving or pinching the mesh the back out and tie off to make a loop. Add/remove guylines as situation dictates. 🤘🙂 Although a basha over the top would help 'pin' it down too.
My knee is also not great , oddly enough in the Bath, I twisted behind to get the shampoo off the shelf and my right leg kind of extended and it went “CLICK” now it’s back to normal! maybe a eleglide camp? Exercise and not so much pounding? As for the pop up , I have a Quechua seconds pop up and there’s a nack to getting it back away , you’ll get there , with mine you tube taught me , get well soon Allan 👍
Most of those pop up things seem to close by twisting. Had car shades that pop out round and to close you twist them and they fold over ontop of themselves.
Only good thing I see is that it's cammo😂 would rather buy an army surplus cot bed bug net thingy.... it was not much more money, but much better made and hard wearing.
Not bad for the money that, but just be careful with Temu, I have heard they like to share personal information. I have some tarp clamps for the corners if you want them? They have been in my garage for about 3 years unused 😂
Hi Jimbo. I like that, for under a tarp.
Neoprene knee sleeve will give you a bit of warmth and support. Give it a go.
All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧😉

It was so cheap, I thought it would be worth a go.

I am right with you. I struggle sometimes, but I am still doing what I love. 👍
Ha! Empathize… not “emphasize”… 🤣 Wasn’t even beer-thirty when I wrote that!
@@HuntCreekBushcraft to be honest, I am dyslexic. I didn't even notice. 😂😂
Excellent Jimbo 👍👍
Very amazing video well done and keep up the great work and I am fully blind and love tarp camping
Glad you enjoyed it

Bug nets/ mozzie domes are a boon for camping in tropics, its our go to arrangement, tarp and mozzie dome. This is a good backup.
Well worth having in the summer here too.
I think it's just a fun tent for children in the summer periods
Nope, its a bit more than that.
I got that tent too, from Temu, i like it, since my plan is to pitch in the dark without turning any light on
Looks like a lovely spot
Up near the Hospital. 👍

Well, I think most would agree that getting older beats the alternative, namely being dead and thus no longer aging.
😂👍
Thats a great bit of kit, you got urself a bargain there. I have a pop up toilet tent and only once have i ever got it down without help 🤷♀️
🤷♀️
If you get some tarp clips that come with the cords you can then peg it out
Good idea. 👍

I will have to have a play with it. 👍
Excellent share
Thank you! Cheers!

Very true. Might not need anything, don't know until I try it.
Nice
🙏🙏👍👍👍👍
Spiders in you sleeping bag, last thing I would share my bag with 😳

It folds like nothing else I own, but I will work it out. 😂
get to Lidl they have some tarp clips in this week that fasten on &screw tight, perfect for that
came to comment exactly that.
The British Army had a great bugnet, bit heavy but bomb proof 👌🏽
My other bug net is a big bugger too. Tough but bulky and not self supporting.
@ Army one more like Markys 😊
My outdoor activities have also been reduced due to my knees. Walking backwards, especially uphill, is supposed to help.
Nice video, hope your knee is feeling better, i agree getting old is a real pain, but what is the alternative. Dave
Just have to adjust what you can do and still have fun.

Yes, I think I have sussed it now.

Got one but its not self supporting like this is.
If you put a golf ball in each corner with a rubber band around them they would be easy to tie out... just a thought lol !
Good idea. 👍
Question . Would it fit inside a hammock!?
possibly but it would be fun getting in. 😂
@@jim-bob-outdoorsplease try and film it lol😂
Nope. There's no way I can maneuver in something like that. My knees are shot, and I'm overweight so no to something like that.
Not bad for the money that, but just be careful with Temu, I have heard they like to share personal information.

I am going to try some ball bungies next time out.
Omaigawd personal information.
I bet you share your life on social media, quit being so paranoid
