I had egg coffee in Hanoi earlier this year and can honestly say it was the best hot beverage I ever had. Thank you for the recipe and safety tips. You are beautiful.
I've tried with less condensed milk before and thought flavors needed more balance, especially with such bold coffee. I also feel 2 egg yolks are necessary for the tiramisu resemblance, but if you like black coffee and aren't a fan of sweets, perhaps give it a try!
While egg yoke nutritionally gives its best in raw condition, the protein part must be cooked in order to have its nutritional potential activated. So I'm perplexed about the full egg version. Moreover, I suggest, instead of condensed milk (a strongly processed food), to use cream and sugar, so that you can also keep the sugar at a lower point, while not loosing in creaminess.
I have tried several times but the egg cream still smells like egg. Where am I getting it wrong? I have used 2 egg yolks and condensed milk - beat it enough. I do not have vanilla extract but many recipes do not use that.
@@rackoflam Yes I did. Maybe I need to blend it more. When will I know it is enough or not enough? Should I use the floating on water method, or is there anything else?
What's wrong with EGG cream smelling like egg 🙂 It's litterally made of eggs... Also, rotten eggs smell horrible, but an old egg can also smell and taste unpleasant. Not as bad as rotten eggs, but not a nice smell. So maybe make sure you use fresh eggs.
I didn't know why my foam stayed runny. I thought it was the brand of eggs or the sugar. But no matter what, the egg yolk is runny and does not sit on top . What am I doing wrong.

@@gene1647 it is delicious!! Thanks for the kind words!
pasteurizing the eggs 😍 so much better than saying "just eat raw eggs"!
For people who aren't scared that's fine but i prefer safety
It does make me wonder if cafes that served me Viet egg coffee pasteurizes their eggs first 😬
My mum's been making this for me since I was young. It tastes great, despite the unusual ingredients!

I love ca phe trung! Glad you enjoyed your VN trip.
I've never heard someone describe it as liquid tiramisu. Very cute.
In Hanoi they dip a croissant into the egg coffee 🥐 ☕️ 💕
@@Msanabanana1973 that sounds delicious 😋
Here Now in Vietnam tasted the egg coffee.. taste good for me and i choose the hot egg coffee😂😂😂
@@MariaJane-q3x i like both the hot and iced versions 🥰
do you feel 1whole egg (and half a tea spoon of condensed milk) would be ok instead of 2 or it's better balanced with 2 whole eggs?

What if you don’t have a meat thermometer? How will you know if it comes to 140 degrees?
I think any thermometer would work 😊.

Did you use an electric blender or did you whisk manually? Perhaps it was the speed or it wasnt whisked long enough?
Egg in coffee with sweet condensed milk? Interesting
Yes! That is why I love the Vietnamese cuisine!
