Colombo, Sri Lanka ➖ After being in Sri Lanka for a while, it was finally time to try the famous meal known as String Hoppers! Ali and I decided it was best to ask a local tuk-tuk driver to take us to the best restaurant and he did just that! He took us to a local restaurant which is always my favourite place to eat local food because that's how you know the food here is good, and it did not disappoint! String hoppers combined with Dhal, Coconut Sambal, and Chicken Curry was sooo delicious and it was even better chatting with the locals and experiencing a true Sri Lankan meal.

These vlogs were filmed months ago before the protests broke out. And of course even though the protests & fuel queues are there foreigners are taken care of well. They never inconvenience foreigners & they usually give priority to them.

You guys have found one of the most famous food combos in Sri Lanka. We guys love String hoppers with dhal and Sambol. Kudos.

So happy you liked dhal. Yes, you are right dhal goes with everything. It's like the national curry in Sri Lanka.😂 We eat it everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner with rice and all other things. You cannot find a full local meal without dhal. Still never gets enough or bored. Lol
Dhal is always so good, you can never go wrong with it 👌

In local “hotels “😉 like this always have cold food because they make big amounts in large pots in the morning and keep for breakfast and lunch 🙂
