Yeah that's the one to get. I looked at the 4k but preferred the extended blu rays with the remaster and the fixed colour , especially that vomit green in Fellowship. Got mine for £25 new at HMV UK as it's or was exclusive to them but no doubt the remastered are everywhere. But only the 2021 plus has the fixed colour grade 👍
Very great edition! I have a similar version but the blu rays are blue, I hope to upgrade it to this versión someday, since it looks better! Btw do you know about the remastered blu ray versions? I Wonder the difference between normal, remastered & 4k blu ray versions.
The 2021 remastered editions are exactly the ones I own! And wow, there are just no words to describe the video and audio clarity! Definitely the set to buy!
Damn, how did you get a new copy for $27 in 2023? I just bought myself a used copy off eBay as I have the 4k discs but wanted to see the difference between those discs and these old ones (which because of the lack of DNR are in theory more detailed), plus I wanted the DVD extras
Well, I happened to get mine for $35AU from a Charity Shop here in Australia. That same day, I found the Theatrical Cuts of the trilogy, in a Blu-ray Steelbook, for $5AU at a local Tender Center. Talk about lucky!
yes and no. higher resolution, but slightly different color grading and too clean of a picture than what most of us remember and love. i would recommend to get this edition rather than the newer 4k.

I'm guessing the remastered looks similar to the 4k with just the 4k looking sharper.
