I really LOVED this episode. Can't believe they put Black in canon. He's gonna be insane. Maybe we'll see him fight Kenobi just like in canon.

I loved that metaphorical reference Theory! I also think there is symbolism in the color of his clothing going from white to black, white being that he is pure to only himself seeing that he's been a bounty hunter for most of his life. The transition to him wearing black clothing symbolizes that he is no longer ignorant and will express his true authority and strength for others rather than fight for himself only.

LOVED this episode. Really cool theory I just thought of: I think that during Boba’s time with the sand people, he experienced some kind of huge injustice directed towards the sand people who are largely misunderstood and seen as monsters. Boba sees them as much more however. After this injustice and perhaps a great loss for Boba as you suggested… He makes a vow to the sand people that he will help them take back Tattoine from the same people who stole it from them. I believe there is a much deeper meaning for him becoming Daimyo rather than just him wanting power/respect/authority/etc.. I think it VERY MUCH ties in with the sand people. Let me know your thoughts on this theory!

Great breakdown, didn't know about the Luke references. This episode weighed heavily on a number of things. 1st is Temuera Morrison's Māori heritage, the whole thing is steeped in that culture and its nice to see that the writers have not been afraid to embrace that. The next was the two main sources for this episode. The first was Laurence of Arabia. The train scene was a direct reference to the train scheme in the Lawrence of Arabia classic. The second was Richard Harris' "A Man called Horse". All the re-clothing of Boba, the learning of the Tuscen ways and the eventual, becoming a member of the tribe by making his own Bantha Stick and dancing in the ceremonial Tusken tradition with the other members of this group. It was a good episode.

This was a great episode! I’m glad they’re showing his time with the Tuskens and accepting their ways. It’s cool that they’re expanding it since we don’t know much about them. They’re similar to Mandalorians in the way they treasure their old ancestoral ways, distrust outsiders and consider the Dune Sea their birthright.
I saw it as Boba being accepted by warriors as apart of the tribe. He’s only been accepted by Bounty Hunters who mostly care about themselves and getting paid. The flashbacks are showing Boba is not only learning to be more than his armor, but also to be more than a Bounty Hunter. That’s why he doesn’t want to be seen as one by the Mayor and the Hutts. They still fear him for his reputation, but I think they’re even more afraid now that he cannot be bought anymore like other Bounty Hunters.
I like that he’s learned to wear his helmet and gear now with tensions rising. It’s good storytelling because it shows that he made the mistake in believing Mos Ezpa would allow him to become Daimyo freely. Now he knows not to make that mistake again. And with Black Krrsantan showing up, I think we could see could see Bossk come in to back Boba up or other Bounty Hunters get hired by the Hutt Twins. Seems like Boba might get a high bounty on his head. I wouldn’t be surprised if Crimson Dawn has a hand in these events since the Pikes had their operation messed up by Boba and the Tuskens.

I love to see the diverse cultures and real life traditions brought into Star Wars. Some people claim that Star Wars fans are against things like that, well the truth is most aren't. This episode is a prime example of how Star Wars is done right and the reception of fans shows that we do appreciate different cultures in the lore, with in universe twists to make it fit the universe. Hopefully Disney keeps it up, but I'll still be weary.

I honestly think us fans are against shoehorning in new stuff instead of actually building up the character. Look at a lot of the comic book stuff right now. They are just gender swapping characters or making them gay just for that reason. A lot of fans don't like it because we grew up with a character with specific characteristics, certain cultural aspects. I mean, look at Marvel trying to state that "Thor is a title, not a name." WTF, Thor and everything about him is ripped out of Norse Mythology. He was an actual god, it was his given name. I mean, if they wanted to do a female norse comic, how about Lady Sif, she had her background established and actually like the character. But just to gender swap and go 'diversity!' has me now going hard pass on Thor and MCU.

@@brianvickery4071 I agree. We are right to criticise it. You know I'm an actor myself with a disability. I don't want to be cast solely on that, true in some cases it could help but personally I'd be far more offended if they did it to tick a diversity box and that's why I'm against identity politics in this industry. There's a reason why they are only doing it for the most popular characters because they also want the outrage to paint their narrative on fandoms, I think that's far more sexiest etc because they have to use the reputation of existing characters because they aren't creative enough to make the less interesting characters interesting. It's all for show, to look good, but really if you take a step back and look at things in a critical way instead of through the lens of emotion, you'll realise they are the ist and isms, not the fanbase.

You missed a very important aspect, Temuera Morrison's Māori heritage was greatly referenced by the sandpeople weapon which is a direct example of a certain type of Māori war club. Also in the cantina scene where Fett is fighting the baddies, he even fights in the style of an ancient Māori warrior with said club by bringing it close to his chest in an upright position of threat display. You can see examples of this in modern Māori war/battle reenactment's. Frankly I was surprised he didn't stick his tongue out, but The Māori references are huge in this episode for Māori warrior culture. Google maori weapons and you will see where they took the example of the sandpeople weapon from.
