BOBA FETT EPISODE 6 BREAKDOWN HOLY SH

  • WOW!
Jumping into space, the N-1 Naboo royal starfighter is seen heading towards what I think is the forest moon of Endor.
R2 drops into a sleep and the ant droids build a bench for him, where he sits to wait.
Luke and Grogu are seen meditating atop a hill. The deep fake is the best I’ve ever seen and it literally looks like a young Luke Skywalker 5 years after return of the Jedi.
As they meditate, Grogu raises a frog with the force to eat when Luke wakes up and looks at him all funny. Raising dozens of frogs with the force so Grogu sees maybe using the force can bring me more of what I want. I think Luke is doing this to show Grogu the difference in force abilities, and also maybe to entice Grogu, as we learn he’s having a hard time training him because of how loosely into it Grogu is. They take a walk and Luke tells Grogu about Yoda, about how size matters not.
Asking Grogu if he remembers anyone talking in riddles like Yoda back home. Then Luke asks him if he wants to remember, and touches his head, showing us a vision of Grogu’s memories during Order 66. The first thing I’m going to mention is how the aura vignette is like Anakin’s visions of Padme in revenge of the Sith. Grogu is remembering actually being there at the Jedi temple. 3 Jedi are protecting him during the raid on the Jedi temple by the 501st.
The 501st are the clone troopers loyal to Anakin Skywalker. They fought with him during the clone wars, and marched the temple with him during Order 66. Now as for who the Jedi were, I don’t know but I do know who they aren’t. They’re not cin drallig, as Anakin was fighting him in the hologram obi wan sees back at the Jedi temple, and Anakin also terminated Cin Drallig in the Revenge of the Sith video game and the novelization, so I doubt this would be how Drallig dies. The other two are just Jedi knights I think who are probably stationed there to protect grogu, maybe by orders of master Yoda, or someone else. As for who took Grogu, I’m not sure, but ‘ll make some theory videos on who I think it might be.
Also I zoomed in on his lightsaber, and it’s not Cin Drallig’s.
Pretty insane how the 501st shoot at the already lifeless body of the Jedi. We are taken back out of the flashback and Din is surprised by Ahsoka. He asks to see Grogu, and she basically tells him it’ll just make it harder for Grogu if he sees him again.
He wants to gift him the beskar chainlink armor. It’s his right as a foundling. A mandalorian foundling that is. Ahsoka questions why is he not a Jedi Padawan now, instead of a foundling? Din seems heartbroken and this scene is very breaking. As we know Din realizes he must not make it harder for Grogu if he sees him. So he chooses what’s best for Grogu in the moment and gives the gift to Ahsoka Tano to give to Grogu. Blasting off in his N-1 Naboo starfighter as Grogu reaches out for him. It was a really beautiful scene and I know they’re writing it this way to increase the tensions of Grogu and Din finally meeting one day.
Luke trains with Grogu much like how he trained with Yoda on his back. He runs through the forest much like Dagobah, and even does the same front flip like in the empire strikes back. Luke speaks of balance. This is something qui-gon preached. I love how we’re seeing a bit of a legends Luke here where he’s taking ideologies of the Jedi from the republic and moulding them into his own way, a better way. Not so dogmatic as palatine would tell Anakin.
Luke has Grogu standing on one leg just like he did on one hand, and trains with his green lightsaber as Grogu watches on in curiosity. He trains Grogu with the marksman training remote. This is the one we saw Obi-Wan use on Luke in a new hope all those years ago. This was Luke’s first entrance into the force and to train his Jedi reflexes. Something Qui-Gon noticed in Anakin very quickly upon their meeting.
Grogu is a quick learner and beings leaping with the force much like Yoda, flipping, dodging blasts from the remote when Ahsoka remarks that Luke taught him well, as Luke says, he’s beginning to remember more than his teaching and we get a beautiful line where she tells him sometimes the student guides the master, as she smiles and looks like she’s reminiscing of her time with Anakin. Now, we also must recall, Grogu was powerful in the force and trained with the Jedi in the temple for almost 50 years, where somewhere along the way, he or rather someone made him lose his memory.

I think it’s a test, and the armor is the correct answer, but Luke is also using reverse psychology to truly test Grogu. Jedi are supposed to craft their own lightsabers, Luke just gifting him Yoda’s this fast into his training seems strange. Grogu can choose the armor (defense/protection) from Din, or Yoda’s lightsaber (offensive weapon) for faster power.

It’s completely parallel with the Empire Strikes Back scene where Luke feels like giving up on lifting the X-Wing out of the swamp water. Then Yoda steps in and shows him the potential of the force. Think about how much conflict that started when Tar Vizla was both. it had to have caused lots and lots of issues. Not just within himself and the decisions he’s had to make, but the tug of war match that the people he had known from both sides, Jedi and Mandalorian. Their very morals and roots are completely opposite from one another, so the history behind the two factions is just the half of it. It’s the way of the Jedi to let go of attachment, this is true. Yet he decided to LET Grogu choose instead of just never even showing him Mando’s gift to begin with. Take that into consideration, I think you’ll be more satisfied with it. Plus, for the first time we have a possible explanation for why Grogu isn’t in any of Luke’s flashbacks in the stupid sequels. So I think we can all make an inference on what he’s going to choose. Let me just say that the deep-fake work on Luke Skywalker in this episode was borderline miraculous. A huge advance even from only a year ago in the MS2 finale. Seeing and hearing Luke in this episode makes me much more confident in what they will present for Han Solo next episode (assuming that he does appear). Lucasfilm has now demonstrated that virtually anything is possible to see going forward, and that even includes Leia Organa. We know that Carrie Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd has already given them her permission and blessing to use Carrie’s voice and likeness. What’s more, Billie herself bears a remarkable resemblance to her mother in both appearance and voice. With her assistance, I fully expect (demand) that we will finally see the post-OT onscreen reunion of Luke, Leia and Han that they, and we, have deserved for lo these many years…

Not to mention all Jedi form attachments to their “Masters” as Padawans, and to their Padawans as Masters.. they form attachments to their own lightsabers which they are required to handcraft.. as Jedi’s they form an attachment to the “Jedi order” itself as a surrogate family/community, and are attached to the “Jedi way” itself as a way of life.. they literally become hyper-attached to the self-delusion of non-attachment.. the Jedi’s are nothing more than a cult of laser sword wielding Uber-hypocrites of psychic/physical badassery! 😜

I think Luke is testing Grogu. They are very similar with their strong attachments to their father. I’d love to see him choose the lightsaber and Luke still give him the armor. Teaching him the lesson that attachment and love are okay to hold onto, as long as you are willing to let go.
While Luke’s Jedi training is what got him to the throne room to face the Emperor, it was Luke’s love and hope for the good in his father that saved the galaxy. We can’t forget, however that it was mainly Anakin’s fear of losing Padme that made him fall to the dark side. I think that whatever Grogu chooses, Luke will still have a valuable lesson for him. Ahsoka working with Luke and the trust she has in him assures me that this Luke is as close to the characterization in ROTJ. I’m so glad she’s supporting his Jedi Order.
Dave Filoni directing this episode is perfect. Out of everyone, I think he understands that Luke is much more like Qui-Gon than any other Jedi. No wonder he included this moment if it leads to this. He tells the other episode directors similar thoughts in Star Wars Gallery of Mando Season 1.
That Cad Bane appearance was insane. It was Corey Burton as well! The feeling of dread he exuded as his silhouette came into frame was so well done. Even if you hadn’t seen the Clone Wars series, you knew from his appearance, his face, and his menacing voice that he’s a cold-blooded killer.

I know people hoping and saying Grogu will return with Din soon simply because of the droid pod tease in the N-1, but I really hope it's a red herring so that we get to see how both character arcs continue to develop while separated. I want them to reunite when they're ready.

I really hope that Grogu is trained by Luke and furthers his training and he crosses paths with Mando anyway in the future. Speaking of Luke... Visually, he looks really good with the CGI and all. Cad Bane showing up was cool and he looks good in live action... The western vibes really hit the mark especially with Timothy Olyphant... Hopefully his character ain't dead which I'm assuming he's alive still, but if not, a good way to go out I suppose. My only real criticisms lie with the fact that the best episodes of this show don't even feature the main character or further his story which isn't very interesting or compelling tbh... Which makes me feel they really just threw together his show and added the furthering arc of Mando... That being said, I hope we get a Boba-focused finale where he will show some badassery.

People are saying that Luke will give Grogu both, after Grogu chooses the lightsaber, placing the force above his personal attachments.
I would say the opposite. The correct answer is to choose the beskar; the choice to follow personal attachments was never the sin of Anakin - it was the Jedi's wrongdoing to forbid such attachments. Qui-Gon knew this, and luke learned it at the end of ROTJ, when he throws his lightsaber away and says "I am a jedi, like my father before me." A true jedi knew that his love and attachment was his greatest strength. Luke is hoping that Grogu will also cast the lightsaber aside in favor of the ones he loves.
Dave Filoni truly gets Star Wars! George Lucas must be proud.

The frog analogy: Grogu only hears and sees the frog and decides to use the force for his personal benefit to catch one. Luke's lesson is that when using the force correctly, you can "see" life all around you, connect with it and borrow its energy. The narrow path of personal profit is similar to counting on what you only see or hear. Becoming one with the force expands your vision inifinitely, thus no longer being blind to life forms only a few metres away.

I think the scene with the gifts may represent a deeper meaning than just a choice Grogu has to make when you consider what the gifts are and who the gifts are from. Most people would expect a gift from a Mandalorian would be a weapon, yet Djarin's gift was a chainmail tunic. The Jedi offered Grogu a lightsaber. So a warlike race offered Grogu a shield, and a peaceful order offered a weapon. It's sort of ironic, as you'd expect the gifts to be the other way around based on the doctrines and beliefs of the ones offering the gifts.

@@ToastLabs I agree as an in-universe explanation, but I'm curious whether it's something a little more profound that Filoni is trying to express in his writing, quite possibly?
I sort of read it as the lightsaber representing war, and the tunic representing peace. Of course the lightsaber was originally intended to be a self defense weapon, but you could argue what it has been recontextualised after the Clone Wars. By Clone Wars standards, the lightsaber is a tool used when waging wars.
So by the Jedi still offering war, and not peace, what's changed since the fall of the Jedi Order at the end of the Clone Wars? Nothing, really. The Jedi Order will always fall if they choose to offer war and not peace. And we know this to be the truth, because Luke's Jedi Order turns to shit again before the events of the Force Awakens. This should be so obvious to the Jedi, as their whole mantra is peace. But it isn't obvious to them, and I think that's the point. That's the statement that's being made.
I could be reading way much into it, but I get the impression this is a delve into the philosophy of the Star Wars universe by Filoni. Man's got a talent for sneaking hidden meanings behind a lot of his writing for Star Wars.

@@CakeorDeath1989 I don't think you are reaching at all, and I agree completely. These things are very much on Filoni's mind as he is writing, they have to be. I think Filoni is demonstrating that Luke is starting to make the same mistakes that his Masters did during the Clone War.
For Luke to so cruelly make Grogu repress his love for his father, when Luke himself helped save the entire galaxy and destroy the Sith through nothing more than his love for his father, does not sit right with me.
And I don't think it's supposed to. Like his father before him, Luke is letting his fear of failure cause him to make mistakes, which we see come to fruition in The Last Jedi.
I have faith that Grogu, who has the wisdom and innocence of a child, will choose to embrace his love for his father.
Filoni knows what he is doing, and he and Favreau are creating a new era of greatness for Star Wars. This episode was incomparably awesome!

This episode was literally a 30 out of 10. This episode was loaded with soooo much. The Luke deepfake was unbelievable and has improved leaps and bounds from the season 2 finale. I wonder if the TH-camr StryderHD did some of the deepfake since Disney hired him. Man just think that the deepfake is only going to get better ans betterand maybe we’ll have a Luke/Leia Han reunion after all (fingers crossed).

    This episode was absolutely amazing.
I was confused at Luke giving him such an ultimate choice, given how he was the balance in the force, between the rigid old Jedi way and feelings of love and hope. But I really think he is training in much the same way that Yoda trained him, giving ultimatums that aren't necessarily true but needed in order to guide Grogu on a good path of choices. He knows, as Yoda knew, that he will not give up his friends or attachments, so he trains him around these feelings that previous Jedi looked so harshly down on. I think Grogu will choose to go back to Din Djarn and Luke already knows this, the same happened with him with Yoda's brilliant strategy for balance in the force and peace in the galaxy. Given Yoda's previous staunch viewpoints on the force that led to all the turmoil, I think he learned from Quigon and others looking back after order 66 about the truth in the balance of the force and trained Luke in that manner. Turning Grogu toward the path of balance is the training.
    That's my take at least.

@@aarondowd7346 guarantee it turns out to be nothing and is forgotten about...one of the 3 lines of dialogue that they gave Luke was him saying to Grogu "Good" after Grogu squealed with joy from crushing it...I mean what was he supposed to do to stop the training remote? If Grogu is "turning to the dark side" then this wasn't the scene...lol...you fanatics and sycophants will call anything Disney makes gold at this point...I suppose you thought it was good writing as well in the Book of Boba Fett scene where the wookie comes to kill Boba and fails and hours later the Hutts show up in the morning and say "it was us that sent the wookie and here is a Rancor as a gift and we are leaving Tatooine immediately"....like huh???? Ahahahahaha! ya you like that don't ya?
