    The carbs are out of adjustment. Easy fix. Also, 4wd actuator going out or acting funky is common on the brutes. I had an 05,06, and 07 and never had an issue with any of them. Dependable Power houses!

    mine does this too, I just found this online:
    Actuator control system trouble shooting,
    when the actuator fails, the controller enters failure mode and the indicator light illuminates 2wd,4wd alternately.
    1. if it alternates really fast at 0.5 secs on 2wd and 0.5 secs on 4wd then the problem is selectable 2wd/4wd actuator
    2. if it alternates from 2wd/4wd at 1 sec intervals, the problem is the engine brake actuator
    3. if it alternates from 2wd/4wd at 2 sec intervals, the problem is both the selectable 2wd/4wd actuator AND engine break actuator

    You must have the correct oil in the front diff because the oil must warm up I had the same problem in my 09 and it takes 20-30 but the guy I baught it from had gear oil in it after I put the correct oil in it it works great and will always work at the switch

    I have a 2004 Brute Force 650, no EFI. Real doesn't like cold. Takes a long time to warm to plow. I have learned over years of having Kawasaki's not to switch out of 4x4 in the winter, it's a big flaw in these things. Summer is better, but if I do in the winter, I do it warm, then from neutral to reverse for 10 feet then high for 10 feet then back one more time. A trick Iearned 9n my 89 suburban, had to reverse it to get it out of 4x4. Different system, same concept.

    Like ltr 450 rider said, you cant use gear lube in the front diff. it will screw it up and go in and out of 4wd and not engage when you want it to. I believe ATF is what is recommended.

    If you could call me I could tell you the problem right away, very simple fix to where you un bolted your belt casing and probably unplugged the wires, there is a sequence you need to perform to reset your belt break. It will only allow you to do 30 km or so, it's very simple to do,

      @adamwyckstandt1842 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Johnny Pea I was trying to figure out what the problem was, why it would go back and forth between 2wd and 4wd. I couldn't figure it out and neither could my dealership "which I don't go to anymore" I finally figured out it was the actuator on the clutch. I put it in the info.

    that sneezing noise out of the carbs is refered to as lean pop. turn the mix screws on the bottom of the carb out to four turns then clean and oil the heck out of you foam air filter with air filter oil not just any oil. you might need to adjust the idle after a bit but that shoud fix your lean pop in this case. note let your air filter oil dry on the filter before installation. installing wet will cause the engine to run extremely rich and will require throttle to stay running for a short time. this will not damage a engine in anyway.

    the popping back in the carbs is because of the cheap ethanol mixed gas. what a lot of people do, because it's an ATV is run the cheapest gas they can buy in them. and it specifically states in the manual that the 650 and 750 needs to run 98 octane.. so to avoid further carb problems. spend the little extra on some good gas...

    • @adamwyckstandt1842

      I always run 93 octane she'll v power. this quad had a lot of problems. I was young and I've learned a lot since. I also don't buy junk anymore.

    Adam: I have an '07 Brute Force. I bought it brand new - last year of carbs. The sounds the engine brake actuator is making sound normal. It should do that when you turn the key on and off. As far as I know they are self tests. If you have a problem with either that actuator or the 4WD actuator, the display with alernate/flash between 2WD/4WD. According to my owners manual, which I would think is that same for an '05, it says this: "Flashing 2WD/4WD indicator lights singnal a malfunction of the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control System. A flashing interval of 0.5 seconds indicates a malfunction of the 2WD/4WD actuator. A 1 second interval indicates the Kawaski Engine Brake Control actuator is malfunctioning, and a 2 second interval if both actuators are malfunctioning. Which ever the case may be, see an authorized Kawasaki dealer". Mine did just that. I couldn't really tell which one it was, but the machine had sat for a while. After riding it a few times, it quit, and it did go in and out of 4WD. So I suspect the engine brake actuator. I called a local Kawasaki dealer in the Minneapolis area, and they said they "plug them in" to see which it is. Must be able to access that information with a laptop. Anyway, just some info. Hope it might help, and good luck. I really like my 750, only problem I have had is the front diff actuator failed in '09. Otherwise, ok. One last thing. Sometimes we have to break down and take it to the shop. :)

      thanks for the comment. I sold this quad a few months after I took this video. it turned out it was the belt actuator that was the problem. sadly my dealer I took it to "which pisses me off still to this day" couldn't figure it out and I spent over $400 and I ended figuring out what the problem was. they put a new actuator of the 4x4 and that wasn't even the problem... but I bought a brand new 2012 brute force 750 in 2012 and I tell you what! that 2012 has way more power and better all the way around!

    • @fwosmek
      @fwosmek 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adam Wyckstandt I hear and feel the frustration with the dealer. I try to fix WHAT I CAN, by myself. If you need parts, I have been using Kawasaki Parts Nation, part of Cycle Parts Nation since '02. They have the best prices I have found on line, great service, and I have searched a lot of sites. Anyway, glad your riding again. I like the Kawasaki. However, I personally don't like the engine brake. One more electrically driven device to fail or cause probelms. Maybe I am a total moron, but why do I need the engine brake? Isn't that what the brakes on the machine are for - braking?
