  • Short notice: Unfortunately I do not take requests on this channel, mainly due to them being time consuming and sadly having a rather busy schedule. However, please enjoy the content I post and thank you for watching!
    ---------------------------------------------------
Here is something I have rarely ever filmed on my channel, in fact this is one of only 2 examples of a Twin Tub that I have filmed.
This is a more generic, plastic type, mainly used for portable laundry such as in a caravan, motorhome, apartment etc. It's a smaller, stripped down version of a standard twin tub to what many know. Features simple controls and a powerful Spin Dryer, despite only being 1200rpm. Did a good job of these tea towels and sponges. Might get one myself if one pops up at BHF or so,
Thank you and enjoy and please subscribe to Washing Machine Guy below

Twin tubs were always so much quicker than front loader automatics. I used to do the laundry as one of my chores for my pocket money for a family of five. We had a Hoovermatic originally, which WAS a real chore, as the laundry would constantly tangle, meaning you would have to keep stopping the machine to untangle the washing. Then we got a Hotpoint Supermatic, which was WAY better, you could literally set it and forget it.
I usually had about 4-5 loads to do, which used to take about 2-2.5 hours, which is about the same as a single cotton cycle in many front loaders.
The best thing about twin tubs, is the ability to rinse one load, while washing the next, hence the time saving.
But I would only ever use one for the novelty value these days, as a front loader is just way more convenient, as you don't have to stand over it while it's washing.

the tub in the spin dryer looks similar to a samsung tub because of the diamond shapes on it and also very impresive wash action and good vibrations too

It’s funny because I thought the same thing when I got it

You could have used the water from the first load to do a dark load, rather than drain it away. I used to do 4-5 loads in the same water, starting with whites, the lights, coloureds, darks, then heavy soiled work clothes. And I used to reheat the water between loads , and add a little more detergent when necessary.
But we're all different I guess.

Yeah, we could have I guess. But however, I only ever would do that if it was a proper twin tub such as a Hoovermatic or Servis Supertwin etc with suds return as I only apply that rule if it has the suds return, as I don't class these as official twinnies.
However we only filmed this one load as we didn't use it again afterwards and tbh, one of these things aren't as good as a normal twintub for washing.

It would be helpful to see the water being spun out into the sink too.

Haha yeah, I wished I had captured that. Unfortunately was needing my other hand and part of my other arm to stop the thing from vibrating off the worktop. But if I get one myself, I will have the camera on a tripod so we can see that too! :)
